Chapter 241 - Grand Reveal (a)
Sometime later, once they finished eating, Theo started to explain everything about this place, "I will start from the very beginning, so listen carefully. As you all already know, about ninety years ago, many spatial rifts opened up in space, allowing beasts to invade our world. At first, we only encountered demonic realm beasts, but as days went by, more and more powerful beasts entered our world.
"Do you know why? It's because, in their initial stage, the spatial rifts would've shattered if anyone above the demonic realm used them to come to Earth. Over time, they became more stable by absorbing energy such as magic power from the surrounding; ultimately, even beasts at the king realm are now able to use some of them to invade planet Earth. But that's not at all. After ten years, four spatial rifts will become strong enough for beasts' gods to use them!"
Theo's eyes narrowed as he licked his dry lips. Meanwhile, the people in his surrounding digested his words. Elliot didn't know that at first, only magical realm beasts could invade Earth. That was the case for the first five years.
After that, for the next ten years, beasts at the demonic realm were the most robust enemy humanity ever encountered. And then, from the 25th to 49th year of the magician calendar, the strongest beasts were at the lord realm. Then, in the 50th year, a king realm beast invaded earth, wreaking havoc to an entire continent, annihilating and enslaving many mutated animals and tribal people. Though only a few people knew this information, and it wasn't available for people like him, especially not peasants, normies, and the hollows. Nowadays, the king realm beasts were the maximum level of beasts that could invade earth. But from Theo's words, Elliot was shocked to find out that even stronger beasts would be able to invade their homeworld!
"Beasts' Gods, are they something like the serpentine devil?" Elliot said, staring at Theo, who was sitting opposite him.
Not allowing Theo to reveal the grand conspiracy, John excitedly slammed the warm cup of hot and bitter coffee on the table and stole the words right out of Theo's mind, "Well, you guess that right. Those beasts are our strongest enemy. They call themselves demonic gods, and they are highly ambitious. They wage war all across the galaxy to kill off potential threats to their race and conquer resource planets. And they also invade faraway planets using the long-distance warring method—Hell's paradise, a type of spell that opens up a pathway between two points in space. Hell's paradise might appear like forests, islands, oceanic paradise, volcanic ranges, and so on, totally lifelike. Anyway, the thing of importance is that those bastards are the ones behind the appearance of the spatial rift that opened up in our world years ago.
"They want to conquer our world to expand westward. Of course, we are too insignificant in their eyes, no different than newborn calves, so they made a mistake, and that's why their leader only ordered a single demonic god to go and use his group to conquer our world. The serpentine devil is leading this expedition. The beasts, mindless or not, are a part of its group. At first, it thought that it would take only a few decades to conquer our world, but thanks to the intervention of a galactic organization, it failed, and we somehow managed to defend our planet from getting enslaved. Though, the danger is still looming over our heads. The consequences of our resistance will appear soon. Ten years later, demonic gods would descend to Earth using the seven times fortified spatial rifts. There are four of them, each defended by a kingdom of beasts, which means four demonic gods can come here a decade later!"
With that said, John finally put down the script that he had pulled out in the middle of his speech.
"Are you finally finished?" Theo's gaze landed on John, chilling the thief that had stolen his limelight and exposed the grand truth in his place.
"You know you don't need to do that. There's no need to create bad blood between us."
"Why do wrong knowing you'll get punished, hmm?"
John immediately understood that Theo was planning to teleport him to someplace far away, so he dashed out of his seat and hid behind Elliot.
"Heh."
Did John really think he wouldn't be able to get him if he hid behind Elliot?
Had he forgotten all the time he had proven him wrong?!
Well, it was time to refresh his memory!
After all, he was asking for a beating!
Theo wanted to teach John a lesson, but Elliot thought these two guys could play later after answering his question.
Before Theo could make his move, Elliot raised his hand and asked, "Ahem! I have a question."
Theo compromised, made himself comfortable in his seat, moved his gaze away from John and towards the newly arrived guest, and said, "Do ask."
"The organization that helped us, who are they?"
It wasn't just Elliot, as even Lucy and the two-spirit beasts wanted to know about the true identity of the organization that helped humans save planet Earth.
"We aren't the first target of the demonic gods. They had invaded many worlds and laid waste to many civilizations. The remnants of all those civilizations grouped up to create a faction aiming to fight against them and put an end to their brutality. They are collectively known as resistance."
Theodore started to explain all the deeds performed by the members of the resistance in secret. First off, one of them taught others that to become strong and gain supernatural abilities, they needed to devour evolution materials from beasts. With this information alone, that person helped the entire race survive.
In a sense, that person was the founder of the magician community and the main reason why humanity didn't fall under the attacks kf the beasts!
