Chapter 1284: Destined One
“We’re in another chiliocosm?”
An Immortal looked around in surprise. “But that can’t be. If that was the case, why is this world so small?”
“A, how did we get here? And why can I sense that this place has some kind of mysterious connection to the Great Stellar Chiliocosm?” a devil chief said.
These were all old freaks who had lived for ten thousand years, and none of them were fools. Tang Jie’s words had made them realize that something was wrong, but that this world was not completely separate from the Great Stellar Chiliocosm.
A chiliocosm that was not completely independent? Then what was the difference between it and a small world?
The biggest differences between a small world and the Great Chiliocosm were that small worlds were created by people and completely attached to the Great Chiliocosm, and that they could be completely controlled and used by someone.
Could this chiliocosm also be…
Everyone had the same idea.
Controlling a chiliocosm to get an opportunity to surpass the Heavenly Dao?
If this could really be pulled off, then there really might be something to that rumor of surpassing the Heavenly Dao.
But that was still proclaiming oneself king in another world, fundamentally different from transcending the Great Stellar Chiliocosm.
Regardless, they would have the answers to all their speculations at the very end of all this.
After the slaughter just now, the path to the tower was much easier.
Tang Jie was like an invincible god, blasting through all the creatures in his path and absorbing their energy to grow stronger.
The devils looked on with envy.
After pushing through that river of Dao armaments, Tang Jie’s group finally neared the tower.
The tower was situated on a giant platform upon which countless never-before-seen plants grew, forming a strange and beautiful garden.
There were creatures living in the garden as well, fairy-like little people with wings protruding from their back, flying about the garden as they laughed and giggled.
As Tang Jie’s group arrived, the fairies immediately fled in fright, streaking through the air. But while these fairies flew quickly, they couldn’t escape the eyes of Immortals, who could see that they were simply hiding behind those strange plants.
A fairy peeked its head out from behind a bowl-sized flower, curiously examining these unwelcome guests, its large, adorable eyes gleaming. Tang Jie could see Yiyi in it.
Such cuteness could easily make one take pity on them.
An Immortal chuckled and walked over. “These little things are rather cute.”
He reached for the fairy.
At that moment, Tang Jie suddenly paled. “Don’t get close to her!”
But the warning came a little too late.
As the Immortal reached out, the fairy abruptly screeched and bit down on the Immortal’s hand. Even though this Immortal’s cultivation was suppressed, he still had the body of a True Immortal. But the fairy easily bit off his hand with a single bite, causing the Immortal to howl in pain.
“Seeking death!” the Immortal bellowed, energy surging up from him to destroy the fairy. But to his surprise, the fairy simply flew away, the Immortal’s frightening surge of energy failing to do a thing. Furious, the Immortal sought to swat the little hoodlum out of the air.
“Don’t move!” Tang Jie raised a hand and stopped him.
“This isn’t your business!” The Immortal spat out a white cloud to engulf the garden.
Tang Jie slapped him in the face, immediately pushing the cloud back into the Immortal’s stomach, sending him flying as a result.
“Tang Jie!” the Immortal roared.
Tang Jie grabbed him by the throat. “You dare to directly address me? So you really want to die?”
The Immortal desperately tried to pull away Tang Jie’s hand, but he failed.
As Tang Jie held him tight, his eyes turned cold.
The Immortal shivered as he realized what kind of person he was facing.
A Boundless Gold Immortal body was practically invincible in this strange dimension. He had dared to shout and curse at such a person? What else was this except seeking death?
Of course, as one of the Three Sages Ancestor’s people, there were few people in the world that he feared. While Tang Jie was powerful, before he had come to this place, there were still a few people who could oppose him, the Three Sages Ancestor being one of them.
But all law cultivators were suppressed in this dimension, while body cultivators were not only unaffected but even benefited, resulting in Tang Jie’s unchallenged supremacy. It was clear that many of them had yet to get used to this fact.
“Do that again and you’re dead!” Tang Jie threw aside the Immortal and turned to the fairy.
Many of the fairies in the garden were warily watching them.
After some thought, Tang Jie suddenly strode forward.
All the fairies became nervous, but Tang Jie simply kept walking without even glancing at them.
These fairies were quite cowardly, fleeing the moment Tang Jie got close, but they never flew very far, always peeking at Tang Jie. He ignored them, and he had soon made it a great distance before finally turning to look back at the rest.
“Are we not going in?” Tang Jie said. “Remember: so long as you don’t touch those little things, we won’t have a problem.”
The Immortals did as Tang Jie said.
A devil chief asked, “Can we not just sweep our way through?”
Tang Jie coolly replied, “You can, but get far away from us first so that you don’t drag me down.”
Everyone immediately extinguished any thought of doing such a thing.
Wang Yao couldn’t help but ask, “Adoptive Father, how do you know that we’ll be fine so long as we don’t touch them?”
“This place’s Dao told me so,” Tang Jie answered.
“‘Its Dao’?” Wang Yao was stunned. “Have you really comprehended this place’s Dao?”
Tang Jie nodded. “The Parting Classic betrayed the Dao, but it complements the Dao of this place. I can resonate extremely well with this world, which informs me of many things.”
“What sort of scary thing would happen if we touched them?” Wang Yao asked.
Tang Jie shook his head. “I don’t know. But even if we want to know the answer, there’s no need for us to test it out.”
Wang Yao was just about to ask who was going to test it for them when he realized the answer.
He looked back and saw another group flying over.
It was clearly Yu Cheng’s group.
Their bodies bore bloodstains and their breathing was uneven, indicating that they had just been through a tough battle.
They didn’t have a powerful body cultivator like Tang Jie to help them out, so they had to pay an enormous price to get through the river of Dao armaments. If Tang Jie hadn’t comprehended the Daos of this place and drawn all the creatures to him, which gave them an opening, they might not have even gotten here.
But there was one obvious exception.
Yu Cheng!
He was as majestic as ever, with his Xuanyuan Sword, Supreme War God Armor, Fourface Crown of Omniscience, and Spaceseal Boots, his body exuding a faint golden glow. It appeared that the tough battles had had no effect on him.
Before Tang Jie had drawn over all the creatures, he was the one who had been clearing the road of brambles and leading the Immortals though.
When he arrived at the platform and saw that Tang Jie’s group was already there, he scowled.
He had done everything possible to get to this place, so the last thing he could accept was someone getting ahead of him. Thus, the moment he saw what had happened, he roared, “TANG JIE!”
He charged into the garden.
His intimidating charge sent the fairies scattering in terror.
An Immortal general who followed him in smiled and said, “These little things are rather amusing.”
He grabbed one of the fairies.
Just like the other Immortal, he got a savage bite in return that tore off a chunk of flesh.
Enraged, he transformed the blood flowing from his wound into a golden sword and slashed at the fairy.
With a scream, the fairy was obliterated.
All the fairies suddenly began to screech.
It was a piercing sound.
Ripples pulsed through the garden.
Numerous roots erupted from the ground, coiling around the Immortals like pythons.
The generals of the court struck back, but their Divine Connections failed to break the roots. The countless flowers were also set into motion, blooming to reveal crimson maws that sought to devour the Immortals. In a flash, the gorgeous and otherworldly garden had become a death trap.
One Immortal general after another was seized by the roots and devoured by the flowers. With their Immortal Arts and Divine Connections having little effect, these mighty Immortals became like mortals, screaming for help.
Even Yu Cheng appeared a little panicked. His body erupted with golden light as he accelerated forward.
Seeing this, Tang Jie smiled. “So you don’t know what’s going on, either? It seems like the you of the past had a limited understanding of this place. That’s great, great.”
He then turned back to the tower and ran forward, no longer paying any attention to the court.
“Everyone, with me!” Yu Cheng shouted, his golden aura growing even stronger.
With Yu Cheng opening the path, the generals of the court charged forward. All around them were vicious plants and the shrieking of fairies.
The garden was big, but Immortals were fast, and it wasn’t long before both groups emerged from it.
By this point, Yu Cheng had lost around half of his people, and he shouted in anger, “Tang Jie, the opportunity to surpass the Heavenly Dao is mine!”
At that moment, a voice boomed in his ear: “Welcome, Destined Ones.”
