Ascension Online: My Beasts Evolve infinitely

Chapter 106: The Abyssal Urn, the Seer’s Eye

Kael read back through the Genesis Heart’s three effects, something sharp and calculating settling behind his eyes.

Three listed effects total. For a Mythic-rated item, the first two read almost disappointingly plain a flat fifty percent boost to maximum health across himself and every companion, paired with a steady five percent health regeneration per second.

Genuinely strong numbers on their own, the kind of stat line that would send most players into a frenzy trying to track one down.

Still, nowhere near what a true Mythic artifact should be capable of.The real weight sat in the third line.Every level-up, a chance to awaken a new talent skill.

Judging a companion’s real potential came down to two things beyond raw attributes growth star rating, and skill configuration.

Between two companions with identical stats, the one carrying a richer, more varied kit always won out in actual combat. Casters especially lived or died by that second metric.

Ascension had no concept of a skill tome written for companions specifically.

New talents normally surfaced only two ways a full bloodline evolution unlocking one or two fresh abilities, or a rare, demanding special quest granting one directly. Both paths took real time and real investment to pull off even once.

The Genesis Heart sidestepped that bottleneck entirely. Every single level-up, across every bonded companion, now carried a standing chance to pull a brand-new talent out of nowhere.

Low odds, sure. Kael currently fielded six companions, though, and every one of them would keep leveling for as long as this run continued.

Even a conservative average of three fresh talents apiece worked out to eighteen entirely new skills across the roster, generated essentially for free over time.

And that math only accounted for the item’s base effect. His own SSS-grade talent Boundless Evolution meant none of those newly surfaced skills had to stay stuck at whatever rank they awakened at.

Evolution Points could push even a brand-new, low-tier talent straight toward A-rank, S-rank, further, same as anything else in a companion’s kit.

This piece was built for exactly what I’m already doing. No other Beastlord on the server stood to get nearly this much mileage out of it.

By the time he’d worked through the full implications, Kael genuinely wondered whether the Genesis Heart might end up outpacing the Undying Wheel in long-term value, Mythic rating or not.

The Wheel only mattered the moment death came knocking. The Heart compounded quietly in the background of literally everything else he did, forever.

He unclasped the Beastsoul Relic from around his neck and replaced it with the Genesis Heart without a second thought.

The Relic wasn’t worthless for the swap, either still a genuine Legendary-grade piece, the kind of item most players this early into the game had never even laid eyes on.

Easy enough to turn around on the open market for a serious sum, feeding straight back into the larger plan taking shape in his head.

With the Mythic items both accounted for, he turned to the two Legendary rewards waiting alongside them.

A tier below Mythic didn’t mean ordinary Legendary equipment still sat firmly in artifact territory this early into launch, rare enough that most of the server’s active population had yet to see a confirmed piece in person, let alone own one.

Items at this level routinely sparked bidding wars among the most powerful guilds operating.

The first was small roughly the size of a soda can crafted from some unidentifiable bone, its surface etched with chaotic, unsettling patterns that looked less like deliberate artwork and more like scar tissue.

A faint black mist clung to it constantly, occasionally knotting itself into brief, twisted faces before dissolving back into vapor.

[THE ABYSSAL URN] (Legendary)

A vessel sealing countless bound spirits. Shatter the seal, and they pour out to savage anything in their path.

Cooldown: 3 days

Special: Kills credited to the Urn’s release do not count as the wielder’s own no experience, no reward is granted for targets slain this way.

Simple, blunt, no wasted language anywhere in the description. A raw weapon, held in reserve, trading any possibility of grinding value for sheer destructive emergency power.

Not something to use casually but exactly the kind of trump card worth banking for the one moment it actually mattered.

He set it aside and drew out the final item.

A golden eye, perfectly spherical, the surface worked with dense, deliberate inscriptions. Heavier than its size suggested, carrying an odd, deliberate weight in his palm.

[THE SEER’S EYE] (Legendary)

Special Effect I: Reveals any invisible or stealthed unit.

Special Effect II: Identifies a target’s weaknesses.

Special Effect III: In select locations, grants access to hidden information not otherwise discoverable.

Forged across a thousand years, one of seven legendary relics commissioned by a long-vanished emperor who spent his empire’s entire treasury on their creation.

Refined properly, it grants its wearer a clarity of sight no ordinary eye could ever match.

Nothing here boosted raw combat strength directly.

The first two effects still carried obvious tactical weight breaking stealth on demand meant never worrying about an ambush landing clean again, and exposing a target’s weak points turned every serious fight into a slightly more favorable one.

Neither of those, on their own, quite justified a Legendary rating. The real value sat tucked into the third line some kind of hidden-information system, context-dependent, impossible to judge from text alone.

Only one real way to find out.

He raised the Eye to his own face and activated it without further hesitation.

Golden light dissolved around the edges of the relic, flowing smoothly into his eyes, and the cave around him sharpened the instant it settled.

Every fine crack in the stone walls resolved into crisp, individual detail, far past what his vision should have reasonably caught in this light.

His gaze drifted toward Lyra next, curiosity pulling his attention naturally toward the one companion standing closest.

A faint line of text resolved beneath her name, hovering just above her head.

[A formidable Starborn hero though lingering battle fatigue from the Spire climb has temporarily dulled her combat edge.]
