Southern Continent.

Eldorath Empire.

Kutcher State.

Wellington City.

Depa Group of Companies.

In a large conference room.

The conference room was silent. No one knew what to say. For the past 10 minutes, everyone was still racking their brains on how to salvage the situation they had put themselves in. But no one could come up with a solution.

Bang....

CEO Depa banged his hand on the conference table in frustration. Several in the room squinted their eyes in fear.

"Are you fuckers telling me that I called for an unnecessary meeting? I summoned all of you so that we could come up with a way to placate Aiden Vhorn for sending assassins after him all this while and you guys have nothing sensible to offer?" Depa’s spittle flew all over the place as he paced around the room in anger, one hand clenched into a fist. "What the hell do I even pay you guys for?"

Are you not the one who came up with the idea that we send assassins after him since he refused to join us?

Why are you taking out your anger on us now?

The board members thought. However, none dared to speak these words out. They didn’t want to lose their livelihood.

The vice president of the company, however, mastered the courage to speak what everyone was thinking. She was as equally strong as Depa and she had her connections. So, he couldn’t do shit to her.

"Mr. President. It’s not that we are incompetent. We miscalculated and offended the wrong person. A madman like Aiden Vhorn would never accept an apology of any kind regardless of what it is. He’s currently the most terrifying rank 3 warrior on the planet. Even 4 legendary rank 4 warriors and their sects died to his schemes. Do you think someone like that will let us off?"

The words of the Vice President hit Depa’s heart like a hammer had slammed into him. He couldn’t refute her words.

"So you are telling me our only course of action is to hope that he decides to forget that we are not worth razing to the ground on a whim?" Depa said.

"Yes..." Another board member said with a resigned sigh.

"Had we known that he would become this terrifying, we wouldn’t have offended him in the first place."

"Seriously. I can’t even sleep from now on."

"This person is ranked 4999 on the Tyrant Fate rankings. He’s a madman who will go to every extent to eliminate his enemies."

"What if he doesn’t know that we were part of the industries that sent assassins after him?"

"What if that’s what he wants us to think?"

"What if this meeting we are having is part of his calculations?"

"For all we know, he’s currently moving us like chess pieces on a board and we don’t even know it."

"You are right..."

"That’s true..."

Paranoia and fear spread throughout the room.

Depa sighed. This was bad. Really bad. His board members had lost it. But could he blame them? Someone who could manipulate four sects into self-annihilation was capable of anything. What if he was even orchestrating some scheme of destruction for them?

What should they do?

"Our only option is to collapse the company and flee to a nation in the Eastern continent and start over there. We can forge new identities there," Depa said.

"I don’t think we can do that," the vice president said. "This is someone who could even find out information about sects that only the higher-ups were supposed to know. Do you think he’s not even listening to us right now?"

The room fell silent at her words. No one could refute her statement. Everyone felt extremely cornered and helpless. Regret filled their eyes. Why did they have to offend a monster like Aiden Vhorn?

"So what, are we supposed to wait around like sitting ducks for him to come and kill us?" Someone blurted out with fear and frustration.

"No," Depa said.

Everyone looked at him.

"We are being paranoid. We will collapse the company and flee to the Eastern continent with our families and start over there," Depa added. "We don’t have any other choice."

Before he could continue talking, something pierced through his heart from behind. He looked below. An ice arrow had penetrated through his chest from behind. Blood fell on the table as he coughed a mouthful of blood.

"We should stay here. Trying to flee will only make our situation worse. Right now, our lives are in his hands. There’s a possibility that he will forget we even exist," The vice president said coldly. "I won’t risk a chance at survival because of you."

Depa had an expression of pain and shock at the betrayal of his vice president on his face. He fell on the table with a lifeless expression on his dead face. The ice arrow disappeared.

"Any objections?" The vice president looked at the board members.

They all nodded quietly, indicating that they had no objections. They didn’t want to die.

Across the Eldorath Empire, several assassin organizations and industries were in an uproar. They were having similar paranoid reactions to Aiden Vhorn’s rise like the Depa Industry people.

Some of the assassin organization and industry founders were so paranoid and scared of what Aiden Vhorn would do to them if he came for them that they actually resorted to self-detonation. They blew up their companies and their members, alongside themselves.

This news shook Endra. There were similar occurrences in the Eldorath Empire. Many were shocked at the level of fear Aiden Vhorn could now strike into his enemies, even without his direct presence. They were so afraid of him that they’d rather take their own lives than have him take it from them.

What a terrifying person. Aiden was like a shadow manipulating the thoughts and perceptions of people. He had become somewhat of a myth. Some people across Endra even believed that letting his enemies in the Eldorath Empire take their own lives was some sort of elaborate scheme he may have set up. Others believed it was just some sort of paranoia towards him they had now, because of his terrifying methods, which drove them mad to such lengths.

There were, however, some industries that did not self-annihilate themselves, like the Depa industry. They believed there was a possibility that Vhorn would forget about them and treat them as inconsequential ants, as long as they stayed out of his business from now on.

In the future, they would find out they were very wrong. Because Aiden Vhorn was not someone to spare his enemies. Once they started something, he would finish it for them.
