Everywhere ranging from streets, alleys, roads, homes, was literally silent.
What Aiden Vhorn had accomplished was not something that should have been possible.
Not even the legendary rank 4 warriors of Endra could have pulled off something like that when they were at his level.
In fact, even as legendary rank 4 warriors currently, killing four other legendary rank 4 warriors was not something they could just do.
Endra was supposed to have 100 registered legendary rank 4 warriors. But Aiden Vhorn had just killed four of them.
This was something other legendary rank 4 warriors could not even do. Inasmuch as the rankings on the Tyrant Fate Rankings made it look like those ranked higher were stronger than the others, it was not so simple. Some legendary rank 4 warriors simply preferred keeping a low profile, so their rankings were lower. Others were also ranked higher because of the accomplishments and list of terrifying feats they had achieved, not just because of their strengths.
Because of this, even Armstrong Lee, ranked 3rd, could not just wake up one day and rush to the person ranked 96th on the Tyrant Fate rankings to kill them.
This was because all legendary rank 4 warriors were terrifying and no legendary rank 4 warrior, ranked higher than someone or not, would stupidly try to kill another person just because they were ranked lower on the Tyrant Fate rankings.
Armstrong Lee, Edrissa Vann, Edwin Marr, and the other legendary rank 4 warriors, watching from the HQ of the International Union on the Western Ocean, were stupefied. Aiden Vhorn had used manipulation and tactical acumen to achieve something even legendary rank 4 warriors would not just wake up and do.
Even with all their experience and decades of background, they had to admit that the young man currently flying out of the ruins of the Ninehail Secret Sect was a monster even they could not look down on.
He was nowhere near them in physical strength. But his scheming abilities were at a level they were even fearful of.
"Anyone of us could have been victims of this ploy. Those four were ranked 97, 98, 99, and 100 on the Tyrant Fate rankings, but he used their own intelligence, pride, and information manipulation to kill them. This young man is something else, Armstrong. In all my years of being a warrior, I have never seen someone like him before," Argi San, ranked 46th on the Tyrant Fate Rankings, sighed.
"Aiden Vhorn is not someone even I can teach anything," Armstrong shook his head. "It’s actually a privilege for someone to say he’s my disciple. I have taught him nothing. You are all aware that unlike my other disciples, the only reason why he accepted to be my disciple is because of the political backing I can offer him. Him being my disciple is just a title. How the hell am I supposed to disciple someone who can scheme better, and have the combat prowess of an old monster?"
"I agree," Ubiquitous Malarevai, ranked 76th on the Tyrant Fate rankings, sighed. "Those four were very careful people. The fact that Vhorn was able to use manipulation to instigate them against each other, let them kill each other, and destroy their own sects in such a manner, proves that he is a walking catastrophe. People like him are more dangerous than those who only use brute force. One never knows when your own actions are even engineered by their manipulation."
The others in the conference room nodded.
"That’s true."
"Such a terrifying young man."
"In fact, I won’t even treat him like someone belonging to the younger generation from now on."
"Even as a beginner rank 3 warrior, he’s this terrifying. What happens when he gets to our level?"
"That will be beneficial to the Union. Three of the 108 beast lords have revealed themselves. Armstrong, Edrissa, and Marr killed them. But it’s obvious the rest will show themselves soon with their hordes. If Vhorn joins the Union in the future, he will become very helpful in dealing with them."
"Also, we are still struggling to find out the HQ of the Order. Sigh... so many threats to deal with."
"Should we send rank 4 warriors below the legendary rank to protect Aiden Vhorn in the shadows?" Someone said with a raised hand, ranked 24th on the Tyrant Fate Rankings: Harisa Adkins.
A woman with dreadlocks.
Nods and murmurs of agreement spread throughout the room.
Glints of coldness suddenly flashed through the eyes of Edwin Marr and Edrissa Vann.
Edwin raised his hand.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he said with a righteous and genuine expression. "It wouldn’t be bad to send lower-ranked rank 4 warriors to guard the young man from the shadows. However, we shouldn’t forget that apart from us, legendary rank 4 warriors, the other rank 4 warriors are the foundation of the Union. Currently, they are all spread across Endra, dealing with dangerous gate incidents, combating treacherous chaotic beasts, stabilizing war-torn regions threatening the safety of Endra, and trying to find clues about the Order. We cannot afford to relieve any of these men and women of their duties to guard a single person. Also, note that Vhorn is Armstrong’s disciple. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would target him. And considering what he just pulled off, no one will dare try to assassinate him."
Whispers spread across the room.
"I still think he needs to be protected."
"Me too. But Edwin has a point. No one will try to harm Aiden Vhorn, considering the fact that Armstrong is his political backing. Also, the young man has manipulated four ancient reclusive sects headed by legendary rank 4 warriors into complete annihilation. No one would dare offend such a madman. He doesn’t need anyone’s protection."
"Spot on. I agree."
"He will do just fine."
"What do you think, Armstrong?"
Everyone looked at Armstrong.
"Since the Union board has decided, what else can I say? Let’s let the young man be. Aiden Vhorn is not someone to die so easily," Armstrong replied.
"That was a close call," Edwin sighed in relief inwardly. Had rank 4 warriors been sent to guard Vhorn, getting rid of him would have been difficult. It’s good they’ve bought it.
His wife, Edrissa, winked at him covertly for salvaging a suggestion that almost ruined their plan to send rank 4 assassins after Aiden Vhorn to get rid of him.
Everyone bought Edwin’s suggestion, not knowing that he was the leader of the most terrifying terrorist organization the Union was trying to locate and get rid of.
