Ascension Of The Blood Supreme
Chapter 205. Enthusiastic
Aiden followed the worker.
"Sir, let me give you a brief overview of the ship before I take you to your suite. It’s a requirement every VIP guest on board has to go through," the man said.
"No problem," Aiden nodded.
As they walked, Aiden saw several men in sleek battlesuits patrolling the ship. They were Beginner Rank 3 warriors and Expert Rank 2 warriors.
"That’s the security. The sea is one of the regions with extremely dangerous chaotic beasts. The ship’s security are on board in case we run into any accidents during our travels. Our captains are equipped to travel maritime routes that are naturally not occupied by terrifying chaotic beasts," the man explained. "The same way empire militaries have outposts at danger zones of empires as watchguards, navy forces are also stationed at various oceanic checkpoints to alert militaries of empires and continents across the seas of chaotic beast tides on sea. Usually, the distress signal level depends on the danger of the chaotic beasts being dealt with."
Aiden nodded.
"So this is the system the International Union put in place to deal with chaotic beast attacks on ships. I always wondered how they dealt with such occurrences. Smart," Aiden thought.
The man continued, "However, we cannot put the safety of our crew members in the hands of the navy, right? At least we must have primary methods of protecting ourselves. This is why we have the security on board. Coupled with the fact that we have strong warriors headed to the Western Continent too, we can at least defend ourselves in case the safe routes we are passing are breached by oceanic chaotic beasts. Of course, that rarely happens because the navy mostly deals with oceanic threats so that they don’t get to ship travel routes."
Aiden nodded. This method functioned just like the response mechanism of the danger zones.
The waves roared and the morning sun shone from the horizon. Aiden’s hair billowed from the wind.
The sound of music and chatter pervaded Aiden’s ear from the distance. Several people were having a party at an open area on the ship. They held glasses and carried themselves with profound dignity.
Aiden and the man passed through them.
Somewhere, a couple were also kissing and taking pictures. The man even teased the lady and kissed her neck.
"Stop it, we are outside," the woman yelled.
"We are on our honeymoon... stop being so uptight," the man said as a seductive glint flashed through his eyes.
The man Aiden was following chuckled.
"The ship is very large. Where they are having the party is the pool area. We have a large club and restaurant, a football pitch, and even a casino inside," the man continued. "Anyone is free to visit these places. But mostly, the people who booked normal rooms stay in their rooms till we get to our destination. Some of our VIP guests can be very segregative. They sometimes look down on people in cheap clothes. Classic human behavior."
Aiden simply nodded at the man’s words. "I think I can find my way around the ship for now. Kindly take me to my suite."
"Oh," the man replied, "Certainly, Mr. Turner."
Aiden had enhanced sight, hearing, and smell. He could scan the ship and know where everyone and everything was in one fell swoop.
The man turned toward a direction. "We are headed toward the suite region."
Aiden followed him with a quiet nod.
Eventually, they went through several doors and arrived at an extremely well-furnished area of the ship. The place had vases with flowers in them. It was a very open area with couches and lounges all across the place.
Several people in good-looking clothes with refined demeanors were seated across the place, having some drinks and chilling.
The man led Aiden past several doors leading to different suites as they passed the crowd. Eventually, they arrived in front of a door.
"Your keycard, sir." The man handed over a keycard to Aiden. "Room service will be here to attend to your needs soon," he said.
"Thank you," Aiden said.
A couple of hundreds of dollars appeared in his hand. Aiden handed it to him.
The man was shocked. "Tha-thank you, sir." The man almost made a scene.
Several people were almost curious about what was happening. Two ladies about to enter their suite couldn’t help but crane their necks toward Aiden and the man’s direction.
Aiden was surprised. He was just giving the dude a tip. Wasn’t this what one normally did after these kinds of situations? Why was the guy being so overly enthusiastic about it?
"It’s alright." Aiden nodded politely, held his keycard against the reader, and entered the room after the electronic beep as the door clicked open.
The man left with a happy expression on his face. "What a nice man," he thought.
The ladies who were about to enter their suite—Aiden’s neighbors—couldn’t help but be curious about the man who had just entered the suite opposite theirs.
"He has extremely cheap clothes. And he looks extremely ordinary. Black hair, blue eyes... is he the one I heard rumors about?" one of the ladies, a blonde-haired one, said.
"The Lodgekeeper?" the other, with brown hair, replied.
"Yeah, Anly. Rumors about someone like that were spreading in the queue when we were buying the tickets."
"Genevieve... you and your nosy behavior. We simply came to the Southern Continent for an exchange event in the Drax Empire. Let’s just return to campus before we get into trouble," Anly said.
"You have a point," Genevieve said. "Let’s just hope we can arrive on time. I have a lecture tomorrow morning. My students will start cursing me if I don’t make it back on time."
"Yeah. Quick, let’s wash down and head out to the casino. It’s been a while since I had some fun. I need to unwind," Anly said with excitement.
Genevieve shook her head. "Alright, alright."
The two friends entered their suite, the door closing with a quiet click behind them.
