Chapter 2311: Demon God King

Tang Shaoyang stared at Radiance. The new Radiance had just advanced to the Pinnacle Rank, but there was something. Radiance was still the same Radiance, bright and rowdy.

It was not just his personality, but his advancement as well. Radiance came out wearing his thick blue jacket and the same goggles. If not for the notification, he might think the advancement failed.

He only received one new notification. That meant Radiance didn’t receive a new title as well. He was still the same Radiance, the Primal Frostbringer.

"Can the advancement fail?" Vandir was the one who asked.

"Hey, that’s rude, you know! The advancement is a success. Don’t you feel that I have become stronger?" Radiance waved his right hand, and everything in that direction was frozen, then covered in thick snow.

Then he waved his left hand; the same thing happened. But the difference was that the snow was black instead of white. Then he waved his right hand in another direction. This time the snow color was green.

"That snow has the corrosion property," He pointed at the black snow. Then he pointed at the green snow. "It’s poisonous snow, and the white snow is just cold, freezing cold."

"There’s more—"

"That’s enough!" Tang Shaoyang stopped the excited snowman. "Are you going to ruin my territory with your weird snow?"

Radiance just giggled, but he received the cue. He got rid of the weird snow and unfroze the area. "Then I will head back home, Boss. There are a lot that I need to check on!"

He didn’t even wait for a response as he disappeared, returning to the Spirit World on his own.

"What about his new title?" Vandir asked after Radiance left.

"He doesn’t get a new title. It is still the same Radiance, Primal Frostbringer."

"Maybe he’s the first in his kind to reach Primal status; maybe that’s why..." As always, Vandir tried to get to the bottom of it. "But based on his aura, he indeed gets stronger. We need an appropriate opponent to test how strong he has become."

"That’s for later. Let’s finish our advancement first." Tang Shaoyang turned toward Zara, and the latter received the cue. She disappeared and returned with more sacrifices from the fourth Storage. She disappeared again and brought more sacrifices from the fifth storage as well.

"So whose choice is next?"

"Orlean!" Vandir responded.

Orlean was not a bad choice, as he was another one of his earliest spirits. If he remembered correctly, Orlean’s first title was Demon Prince. As Orlean advanced, he became Demon God. At least, the System gave him that title. He didn’t know if that God had the same weight as a God Rank or as an Almighty God for the Demon Race.

He had two Demon Spirits, and interestingly, both had different titles. His second Demon Spirit was Galeon. His current title was Archdemon, and his first title was Great Demon. The only difference between them was that one was a noble, and the other was more like a soldier or a knight order under the noble.

Tang Shaoyang noticed how Galeon maintained his respectful stance toward Orlean even though Galeon was not under Orlean.

He was curious what Orlean would become, and Vandir might have a bigger interest in Orlean’s advancement. That was what was peculiar about Vandir. He didn’t know the skeleton’s train of thought. He was curious what made Vandir excited when this advancement had nothing to do with him.

He summoned Orlean, and the Demon God maintained his noble etiquette. Orlean bowed toward Tang Shaoyang with his hand on his chest.

"Let’s spare the formality, Orlean. Today is about you, not me!" He stopped Orlean from doing the uncomfortably formal greeting.

"I am grateful for the chance you have given me, Your Majesty. I will—"

Tang Shaoyang didn’t mean to be rude, but he just couldn’t handle it any longer. He activated the Spirit Advancement before Orlean finished his words.

The required materials turned into dark energy, covering Orlean in a black cocoon. The cocoon floated twenty centimeters above the ground, and when it stopped, the sky darkened, as if the night arrived early.

Tang Shaoyang thought it only affected a limited area, just like the previous phenomenon. But that was not the case. His Chaos Eyes could not cover everything. Within five kilometers, the area was darkened.

Not long after, more than five messages entered his inbox. Lu An, Li Shuang, Zhang Mengyao, Alton, and Wei Xi. They asked the same question: what happened? Was this phenomenon caused by his spirit or not?

They thought Earth was under attack, which was not strange to ask. However, they wanted to confirm first that this was not his spirit’s doing.

He replied to all five messages while chuckling. These messages meant that the whole Tang Empire went through the same phenomenon. It was possible that Orlean’s advancement darkened the Earth.

The phenomenon lasted for ten minutes or so before the cocoon broke apart. The first thing Tang Shaoyang checked was the notification.

Tang Shaoyang squinted at the new title, Demon God King.

’It means the Kind of Demon God, right?’

He looked up as Orlean stepped out of the thick black miasma. Just like Radiance, there was barely any change in terms of appearance. Orlean was still in his black and red noble attire. The difference was the floating crown on top of his head.

The crown with an intricate design floated above his head, spinning at a slow pace. The crown looked like it was made of the miasma that he had just come out of. It continuously released the black, ominous miasma.

"What’s his new title?" The curious Vandir asked.

"Demon God King."

Vandir nodded, looking up at the crown. "That explained the existence of that crown. A crown for a king, I guess..." He was no longer as excited as before. Clearly, he was not expecting such a title from Orlean. The skeleton might be expecting something else.
