Chapter 2214: The King

"Shut up, you senile old man!" Clementine’s outburst pushed The King’s aura and overwhelmed the whole hall.

That surprised everyone, including the King. He said that to maintain the dignity of a King, he expected Clementine to play along with him. In this situation, he could not question his subordinates’ actions in front of a lot of guests.

However, Clementine didn’t play along with him. There could be one explanation: she was beyond annoyed, so annoyed that she didn’t mind if the situation blew out of proportion.

Of course, he could not show weakness and matched Clementine’s aura, piling the pressure.

Tang Shaoyang caught the change of expression on the King when Clementine called him out Senile Old Man. Even though The King questioned Clementine, there was no shred of hostility from him. So he might be surprised by the aggressiveness shown by Clementine.

At the moment, Royal Knights who were known as King’s Guards made their appearance. Five of them appeared and stood before the King, and more than fifty surrounded Clementine as they tried to push the other guests.

The situation had fully blown out of proportion, something that the Imperial Investigator didn’t expect. They wanted to bait Tang Shaoyang, but they caught something scarier instead, Clementine. This was on a different scale, but with the King’s appearance, they could no longer interfere unless the King allowed them to.

A figure wearing a noble outfit appeared next to the King and said something in a whisper. Of course, the figure cast a soundproofing barrier so no one could hear what he said to the King.

The King listened attentively while maintaining his composure. The only reaction was when the King looked toward the group of the Imperial Investigator. His expression remained calm, but someone with a sharp sense could tell that the King was angry.

After the figure finished the report, he stood behind the King. The King nodded after hearing the full event, and it was something he expected. But it seemed they were crossing the line that caused Clementine to be this upset.

The King took a step forward and pulled his aura. Clementine did the same in return, but she didn’t completely get rid of her aura, as it remained on the guards and the young man who was now lying flat to the floor.

"I would like to apologize for the inconvenience my people have caused. You have spared your time to come, yet my people have shown such shameful behavior. Again, I would like to apologize for wasting your time because now I have to cancel this celebration."

After saying that, the King turned around and left the party. At the same time, the figure who made a report to the King approached Clementine.

"The King expresses his regret for what happened and invites all Administrators to resolve the misunderstanding."

Arion and Clementine thought Tang Shaoyang would create a fuss and an excuse not to meet the King. At a minimum, they thought Tang Shaoyang would start demanding compensation. To their surprise, he was the first one to agree without making a fuss.

"Let’s meet him and settle the issue before you two blow things up!"

The first part was genuine. He just wanted the issue to be settled and stopped getting pestered by Arion or other Executive Administrators to meet the King. The second part was teasing them.

They were afraid that he would cause trouble, but it was they who caused trouble. Of course, he was pleased since he could meet the King earlier because of them. The situation worked in his favor.

He stood up, and his wives hooked their arms around his. They approached the figure, "Lead the way."

"You are right. Let’s finish this shit before it gets even more annoying!"

Clementine and Arion halted after just five steps because they heard a bone-crunching noise, which was followed by a muffled scream. Both turned toward the scream. It was from the man who lay flat on the ground, who tried to ask Jasmine for a dance but got beaten by Clementine instead.

"Ah, I am sorry. I accidentally stepped on his leg..."

The people who heard him had the urge to roll their eyes. If it were an accidental step, the man’s leg would not break. Even more outrageous, Tang Shaoyang and his wives were a meter away from the man. How did he accidentally step on the man when he was not in range to step over the man?

There was no need for a genius to guess it was a deliberate action for what the man tried to do. Since the event had involved the King, and the King also admitted to it, no one tried to stand up for the man.

Tang Shaoyang continued to follow the man as the guests started to leave as well. The guards escorted the guests out, and the Royal Knight followed the figure along with the Administrator. Amaro was one of the Royal Knights.

They were led to a big room with a long table with sixteen chairs. The King was sitting in the middle, and ten people were sitting on his sides while the Royal Guards stood behind him, standing near the wall, surrounding the table.

Clementine sat across the King, right on the opposite side. Arion, Baba, and Valeria were to her left, and Tang Shaoyang was to her right with his wives. There was a bit of tension in the atmosphere, but it hadn’t reached the point of being hostile.

"I have heard what happened, and I would like to apologize for the inconvenience my people have caused."

The King said it one more time. His words were sincere, and he wanted them to know this was never his intention. That was why he immediately canceled the party, trying to show a gesture that he took the matter seriously.

"It’s more than just an inconvenience. If this were a year ago, I would have started killing those people right away."

Tang Shaoyang was being frank, not trying to disrespect the King. He made significant progress in his cultivation, including the Essence of Tranquility Breathing. If he came to the same event a year ago, and this happened, he would cause trouble for sure. He might exaggerate a little bit by killing, but he would for sure beat the shit out of those people if it were a year ago.

However, the people who sat with the kings didn’t take it well. The same for the Royal Knights as they launched their aura and killing intent to warn him.

If he were alone, Tang Shaoyang would just laugh at these people’s pathetic attempt to intimidate him, but his wives were with him.

Tang Shaoyang released his Absolute Aura and his killing intent, not even holding back in the slightest. His aura quickly took over the meeting room, and the Royal Knights drew their weapons right away.

The moment they drew their swords, Tang Shaoyang also created Chaos Blades, hundreds of them, which filled the entire room. Each blade had a target, even the King was one of those targets.

"ENOUGH!"

The King slammed the table as he released his aura. He pushed Tang Shaoyang’s aura, but he could not overwhelm Tang Shaoyang’s aura. Their aura clashed in the air, which created a dreadful tension between the two sides.

"All royal guards leave this room now!"

There was hesitation from the Royal Knights, but the King had had enough, "NOW!" Only then did the Royal Knights leave the room, leaving the King and the ten people with him.

The King pulled his aura, and so did Tang Shaoyang. However, the tension intensified.

"And you! Do you have to do that to fight that meager aura? You can shrug it off easily, yet you chose to escalate it! Are all Executive Administrators like this?"

"Then you need to teach and discipline your people instead of blaming me. First, I am here as a guest because you invited me to come. Is this how you treat your guests? Is this how you tell your people to treat your guests? Intimidating your guests with their meager aura? Is this one of your cultures?"

The King tried to cut him, but Tang Shaoyang didn’t let him. "Second, my wives are Demi-God Rank. If their aura harms them, this is not going to end with just conversation. I will have all your guards killed with my own hand if my wives are armed."

"The other factions might chicken out in the face of their meager aura. The other factions might cower in the name of the Hurakan Kingdom, but I will not. When a threat comes to my family and me, I will not run. I will get rid of that threat. I don’t care if people call you the Guardian of the God Realm; if you are a threat to my family, I will destroy that threat."
