Chapter 2035: Bonding Experiences (2)

After a brief introduction, the group departed for the market. The same market, but this time, Elnar joined them because Tang Xiulan begged him to. So instead of sitting on her father’s shoulder as usual, Tang Xiulan sat on Elnar’s shoulder.

Elnar was much taller, and it gave them a better view. Tang Xiulan, Li Jiaying, and Li Yue were with Elnar, but Cecil was still afraid of Elnar. She chose to stay with her mother, walking by herself. The shadow of noble etiquette could still be seen in Cecilia.

They explored the street, checking the stalls together. Liora and Elnar had done their job so well that they were no longer reliant on buying the food from outside. They had gotten a few recipes after completing a considerable amount of research in the Research Center.

The most excited ones were the children, especially Xiulan and Jiaying. They navigated the giant troll when they saw something interesting. They strolled, checking all the stalls with the Beast Spirits. There was no rare Beast Spirit like the Diamonian Rabbit.

But there was a battle-type spirit. It was a small bear with yellow fur and black dots all over its body. There was a back spot around its eyes, making it look cute. It was small for a bear as it was the size of a panda. The seller had a family of that bear, a father, a mother, and the cub.

They returned to the stall with the bear after doing their round. The reason was that Cecilia was attracted to the Bey Bear. That was right, this thing was called Bey Bear. It was a common battle-type beast spirit, not overly strong, but it was stronger compared to the non-battle Beast Spirit.

Cecilia’s eyes were glued to the bear cub, who also looked at her from behind the cage. There was sadness and pity in her eyes when she looked at the cub.

“Do you want to get the Bey Bear?” Tang Shaoyang squatted next to Cecilia and asked.

She was startled but quickly calmed when she recognized the voice. She looked at her new father, then she looked back at the cub. There was a hesitation in her eyes.

“We can buy it if you want. Remember, you can choose one Beast Spirit to keep in the garden.”

Cecilia wanted to free the cub from the cage, but she was reluctant to make the request. This was the first day she met with her new father. It didn’t feel right to make a request to her new father when they had just met.

Tang Shaoyang did not wait for an answer, turning toward Li Shuang instead of Azhug. Li Shuang was their best negotiator, even better than Azhug. The pregnant lady had a short discussion with Azhug before they approached the stall owner.

It was rare for a battle-type beast spirit to not be bought by the big emporium. There must be something that discouraged those big emporiums from buying them, even if it was a common battle-type beast spirit. Li Shuang quickly returned to Tang Shaoyang, telling the reason why the Bey Bear was not sold.

“It’s born with a disability, that’s why no one is buying them,” Li Shuang returned with grave news, “If you haven’t noticed, you see it if you look at the cub’s legs.”

Tang Shaoyang looked toward the cage, and he realized that the cub stood without legs. It was supported by its lower body. The cub was born with no hind legs, and it made sense now why no one wanted it.

No one even wanted the parents because it was a genetic problem. No one could guarantee that their next child would be born without a disability. This was the biggest flaw for a battle-type Beast Spirit. The stall owner hoped to sell it cheaply.

The market price for a family of Bey Bears was around 13 to 15 million, and the stall owner was willing to part with the family of Bey Bears for 10 million.

“I am confident to lower the price down to 8 million or even 7 million. Best we can get it at 6 million because He mentioned the emporium is willing to take the family with 5 million,” Li Shuang was confident to lower the price down from 10 million, but the problem was whether her husband wanted to buy them or not.

Tang Shaoyang wanted to discuss with Elnar whether it was possible to resolve the issue. Maybe Elnar could make prosthetic legs for the bears. Or maybe Elnar had other solutions.

But then she felt someone nudging her shirt lightly. He turned, and it was Cecilia who nudged him, “Yeah?” She said something, but her voice was too low for him to pick it up.

“Don’t… I don’t want to buy them…”

Cecilia changed her mind the moment she heard the price. It didn’t matter whether it was 7 or 8 million; the word million scared her. She thought the price would be around 50 thousand or at most 100 thousand. The moment she heard a million, it scared her.

Even though she said no, Tang Shaoyang could sense Cecilia’s sadness and also her desire to save the poor bear from the cage. His Absolute Sense picked up her true feelings and emotions.

“I want the Bey Bear! We must save the Bey Bear, Daddy!” Xiulan’s voice came from above. She jumped from Elnar’s shoulder, which gave the Troll a fright. He managed to catch her in the air before putting her down on the ground.

“I know, but we need to consult Azhug first. The bears have a special need, and we have to make sure that we have the facility and can take care of them,” Tang Shaoyang consulted with Azhug and Elnar about whether they could provide extra care for the Bey bear.

No Beast Spirit sent an application request to join the Tang Garden, which was why they planned to add ten more species to the Tang Garden. A Beast Spirit with disability would need extra care, and he needed to make sure whether his workers could give this extra care despite having a bigger workload.

On top of that, he was teaching his daughter about responsibility, at least that was what he hoped. If they bought it, they must be responsible.

Elnar winked his eyes at Xiulan and Cecilia, who stood side by side, then he squatted next to Tang Shaoyang, “We certainly can take care of the Bey Bear, Boss. In fact, I might have a solution for the cub as well.”

Azhug gave his consent as well by nodding. Pleasing the young lady would put his boss in a good mood. A happy Boss was the same as a happy worker.

Li Shuang and Azhug were about to negotiate with the stall owner until a high-pitched voice, almost shrill, called out the Ogre.

“Aren’t you Azhug? You certainly, Azhug, right?”

Everyone turned toward the voice and found a group of people approaching them. A group of six, three of whom were human, which consisted of two men and one woman. The other three were beast folks who acted as bodyguards for the trio. They were cat-folk, but different types than Liora, and he sensed hostility between Liora and those three.

Most importantly, Tang Shaoyang could see the change of expression on Azhug’s face. His caretaker certainly did not like this group, and to be honest, Tang Shaoyang also did not like them just because of the voice.

The one who spoke was the middle-aged man who led the group. He had fancy clothes with a bunch of gold and diamond ornaments. As if he was wearing that kind of clothing to tell people that: “I am rich” kinda thing. The pot-belly just made it look perfect.

Tang Shaoyang shot a glance at Azhug, telling him to take care of this nuisance. The latter noticed the annoyed look on his boss and was about to step up when the pot-bellied middle-aged man tried to reach Viona’s hand.

Tang Shaoyang caught the movement and stood next to Viona and slapped the hand away.

Pyak

The slap was loud, but Tang Shaoyang did not really put much strength into it. He stood towering over the middle-aged man, looking at the man’s eyes.

“I don’t care what custom or culture you come from, but I will tell you a culture or custom from my place. If you touch someone else’s wife’s hand, you will be beaten half to death. If you have indecent thoughts on someone else’s wife, you will be hanged in front of their house.”

The pot-bellied middle-aged man subconsciously took a few steps back before falling on his butts. The three beast-folk bodyguards were not expecting such action from Azhug’s group. They immediately stepped forward and stood between Tang Shaoyang and their boss, drawing their swords.

Azhug and Liora also stepped up and stood in front of Tang Shaoyang, “Gentlemen, you don’t want to draw your swords against my new employer. Put it back before you regret it,” Azhug reminded the three bodyguards.
