Armipotent

Chapter 1848 - 1848: Exceeding Expectation

Tang Shaoyang did not stay for the night, leaving the base to the Tang Empire’s territory in the God Realm. He wanted to find out what happened in his territory and maybe sent half of the dwarves back to the base. He was ready to give up his territory in the God Realm if it took too much to defend them. So it would be a waste if the dwarves fully built his territory into a fortified city. What he wanted was a simple fortress to fight if he deemed it was worth fighting for.

Tang Shaoyang looked around, surprised at where he was teleported. He was in a marbled room with just a plain wall. The wall was painted white, and there was nothing inside. He had heard about the teleportation point, meaning he would be teleported to this room every time he arrived in this territory.

He looked up at the door and sensed two presences behind the door. From their posture and no movement, they were guarding the teleportation room. He headed out of the room, and the two dwarf guards were shocked.

They jumped and turned around, taking out their mace and shield, ready to fight. Their eyes widened at the sight of the Emperor. They immediately dropped their weapons and knelt, planting their faces on the floor.

“We apologize for drawing our weapon against you, Your Majesty. We are ready to receive the punishment for our insolence!”

They did not exactly say the same words but were similar.

“I will not punish you for doing your duty. It’s…” Tang Shaoyang wanted to say that it was his fault, but that would make the two dwarves overthink. They might take the matter into their own hands and harm themselves if he admitted he was wrong because he was never in the wrong in their eyes. “It’s fine, but be more careful later. Now get up and lead me to Engin!”

The two dwarves stood up, “Yes, Your Majesty.” The two picked up their weapons and guided him through the building.

They walked through the empty, but nice hallway. Everything was white because Chief Engin left the decorations for him or his wives. He did not use his Chaos Eyes to check the building, merely following the two dwarves.

They led him outside and he was surprised with what he saw. In front of him was a spacious garden, at least it looked like it was designed to be a garden. There was a fountain in the center of the garden, an active fountain of water, and he was glad that the dwarves did not use him as a statue for the fountain. It was Wrath’s statue in the middle of the fountain, his tail and mouth releasing water.

Tang Shaoyang turned around and saw a castle bigger than the smart base. When he said bigger, it was wider but for certain it was shorter than the smart twenty-five floors smart base. Even though it was shorter, he felt like the castle’s height was half of the smart base, and he saw the Tang Empire’s flag, five of them.

There were four towers at each corner of the castle, and each tower had a flag. There was another flag, bigger than the one on the four towers which was at the center of the castle. The castle left him speechless. He turned around and looked at the two dwarf guards, “What is Engin doing? I am asking him to build a fortified fortress, not a castle!”

The two dwarves exchanged glances, getting nervous again after their initial offense. Even though they were not part of the building, they were dwarves. If The Emperor punished the Dwarven Confederation, then they would be punished along with Engin for their President’s mistake.

“W-we… We…” The two dwarves stuttered, and both forgot to send a message to President Engin as they escorted their emperor. They did not know how to answer The Emperor’s question.

Tang Shaoyang rubbed the space between his eyes, finally understanding why Engin suddenly put all the builders into the God Realm. They were not building a fortress, but a fancy castle. He initially wanted to have Engin for a tour, but he changed his mind and used his Chaos Eyes.

He changed into a bird’s view and expanded his vision. Engin did not stop surprising him with the castle, it was even bigger than it looked. There was an extensive building to the west of the castle, and it looked like a quarter as he guessed because many dwarves stayed there. The quarter was a U-shape building, and there were four of them which were connected by bridges.

Behind the castle was a big mansion, of course, much smaller compared to the castle itself, but it was massive compared to most of the mansions he had seen before. The mansion was well decorated, there was a park and playground for children, and there was also an artificial pool not far from the mansion.

To the east of the castle looked like another quarter, but the area was bigger because they set up a training ground there. There was an Archery Range, an arena, something similar to a stable, and even more variety of places for training. If he had to guess, it was the area for the guards to stay. The front castle where he was, was also massive, with a grand entrance into the castle.

The castle was surrounded by a fifty-meter-tall steel fence. Outside the steel fence was still part of the castle area because he saw an actual thick wall surrounding the castle. The area between the steel fence and the wall was still empty. It was too big to be empty, and he did not know what the dwarves planned for.

He wanted to get angry at Engin, but he could not when he looked at the whole castle. He liked it, but he felt something like this could wait until they rebuilt the necessary cities on Earth.

“Tell me where Engin is!” Tang Shaoyang shook his head and asked the nervous dwarf, “Is he far from the castle?”

“Y-yes… Pre-president Engin is currently overseeing the border wall’s construction…” the dwarf to his left answered.

“Which one of you knows Engin’s exact location?”

The two dwarves were confused by the question because both knew where President Engin was, “We both know—”

Before the dwarf on the left finished his words, Tang Shaoyang grabbed the dwarf by the waist and flew up to the sky, leaving one behind. The remaining dwarf felt the strong gust, and when he looked up, The Emperor was out of his sight with his friend.

“Good luck, Odun. I wish you would return in one piece…” He muttered in a low voice.

Odun almost screamed, yep almost, but he managed to hold his screaming, realizing that his scream might annoy the emperor. The young Odun swallowed a mouthful of saliva and almost choked on his own saliva when he heard The Emperor’s deep voice.

“Show me the direction,” The young Odun pointed to.

Tang Shaoyang flew toward the pointed direction and saw the paved roads outside the castle area. A straight and wide road was built from the gate, and it branched into many smaller roads. Based on how they built the roads, Tang Shaoyang could tell that Engin was building the road with a city design in mind.

The castle was built in a flat area but on higher land than the surroundings. It looked like it, but it was not because of how flat it was.

He got a headache from the sight of these long and branched roads. If he could defend the territory, then it would be fine. However, everything would be wasted if he had to give up the territory. It was not that he was not confident in his strength, but he did not know if he had the time to defend his territory after his promotion.

Even if he did not have the Executive Administrator’s obligation, he had a dimensional tower to explore and climb. He had so many things to do, but he only had limited time. On top of that, he did not want to neglect his family, especially his daughters. Two more babies were coming.

Following the dwarf’s direction, soon they reached the border, and he saw a group of a hundred dwarves building the wall. They used a black stone, and then they coated the outer wall with black steel. He noticed there was a tower that was taller than the wall every five hundred meters.

Tang Shaoyang spotted Engin, and he was surprised the dwarf in charge looked disheveled, weary, and exhausted. Engin looked like someone who had been working so long with less sleep.

They landed next to the weary dwarf, and he could see Engin was annoyed when someone landed next to him. Engin looked to the side and was about to scold whoever was trying to startle him. His mouth opened, but there were no words coming out after he saw who was coming.

Tang Shaoyang wanted to scold Engin, but he did not have the heart to when he saw Engin’s condition, “Can you explain what happened Engin? From what I remembered, I requested you to make a fortified fortress, not a fortified city.”
