Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 848 481: Command Authority

On the train, Hu Shuo tidied his clothes in front of the mirror, maintaining his poise despite wearing layers upon layers.

"Secretary-General, this is the application for allocating cold-weather supplies and manufacturing a batch of small translators..."

Xiaozhao hurriedly walked in, stunned to see the very serious Hu Shuo, "What are you up to?"

Hu Shuo smiled, "Just doing my job."

"Please handle the matters on the train for me, if you can't, just leave them on my desk, I'll be back soon."

Hu Shuo patted Xiaozhao on the shoulder and headed towards the isolated carriage.

Su Huan and He Jie were already waiting inside, the latter let out a strange sound upon seeing him.

"Those in the know would think you're going to translate, those who don't might think you're off to a blind date!"

Hu Shuo ignored him and walked up to Su Huan, "Conductor."

Su Huan crossed his arms, leaning against the wall, smiled faintly, "How much Russian do you remember?"

Hu Shuo looked serious, "The skill to earn a living? I'll never forget."

"Well then, let's go."

As the words fell, soldiers by the side opened the cabin door, a gust of cold wind rushed in, the white dragon danced, for a moment it was as if they were in a celestial palace.

Su Huan slightly expanded his domain and pushed the cold wind back, peeking below.

The gathered troops split in front of the Birch-3 base, entering the freshly dug trenches and snow caves, which were much warmer than the surface.

Back then, to guard against Donghuang, the Northern Alliance built numerous bunkers along the Changbai Province boundary, which are now being utilized. Since the White Demon showed its ferocity, Gunfire established this line using the bunkers as nodes.

On the surface, it appears to be a vast snowfield with simple fortifications, but beneath six or seven meters of snow, everything's dug out by Gunfire.

Apart from various heavy weaponry and soldiers, Su Huan sensed some high-energy reactions, clustered tightly together, maintaining a delicate balance, which if disturbed slightly, could blast the entire snow cave and trench sky-high.

Clearly, Gunfire has made significant progress in studying Pan Energy.

Su Huan glanced around, picked the area with the strongest Pan Energy feedback, and jumped down.

High-nosed, deep-eyed Mao Bear soldiers eyed Su Huan and others warily, but since prior notice had been given, they showed no hostility, merely turning to run towards the command center.

Moments later, two people walked out from within; on the left was the familiar Yuri, and to the right, a broad-shouldered Mao Bear, both in crisp military uniforms.

To Su Huan, they looked similar — blue eyes, messy beards, rough as if dragged from a cave, exuding a sharp blend of spirits and snow.

Yet Su Huan had a favorable impression of this Mao Bear who had traveled far to deliver essential supplies.

"Ah, ah, ah, long time no see."

Su Huan beamed brightly.

"You arrived much faster than I anticipated."

Yuri spoke fluently in Donghuang language, his eyes complex.

For this man who once tricked him, he indeed couldn't manage a smile.

He Jie interjected from the side, staring wide-eyed in wonder, "You're a general too?"

Yuri rolled his eyes, retorting, "Why shouldn't I be a general?"

He Jie rubbed his chin, "On the train, you're just a Lieutenant."

Yuri paused, ignoring him, and introduced his colleague to Su Huan, "His full name is quite complicated, you can call him Akseyel. He is our Gunfire's general and commander for this battle."

Su Huan glanced at this rigid guy, clearly sensing a hint of defiance in his eyes, but he didn't mind.

Just a Tier Two.

Gunfire's early generals weren't particularly strong, only as the apocalypse deepened, a few gained fame through sieves of fate.

Su Huan remembered only two besides Tasia, but neither Yuri nor the present Akseyel were among them.

They were probably dead.

"And who is this?"

Yuri's gaze fell on Hu Shuo.

"Hu Shuo, Secretary-General of the Armed Train."

Hu Shuo said in fluent Northern Alliance language.

Yuri was slightly surprised, then remembered the name.

"By the way, where's Tasia?"

Su Huan looked around but didn't feel the woman's explosive energy feedback nearby.

"Her Highness is mobilizing the rear. In this battle, our Gunfire has mobilized over 300,000 soldiers, who will continuously converge here, locking the spread of the White Calamity with absolute manpower!"

Yuri said firmly.

Hearing this number, even Su Huan was momentarily stunned.

Considering there's no calamity ravaging Northern Alliance's territory, a larger population is natural.

The three were welcomed inside the base, with He Jie whispering beside him, "Don't be fooled by him. They don't treat those below as humans, regardless of the hundreds of thousands; they're just livestock, entirely different from us."

They didn't enter the command hall but went to a room filled with a table of food and drink instead.

Before stepping inside, the high concentration of vodka's smell hit them.

"Though you've traveled far, let's eat and talk." Yuri invited them to sit.

Su Huan rolled his eyes speechlessly, muttering, "If we're here to fight a war, forget all this pretentiousness. Have you made the preparations?"

"We've completed all the war preparations." Yuri sensed the firmness in Su Huan's tone, frowning.

"I meant, preparing to hand over command authority."

Su Huan's calm demeanor completely unsettled Akseyel. Already simmering with anger, he took a step forward at these words, eyes nearly aflame.
