Chapter 115 - Keira Knightley's Goodwill
Chapter 115 – Keira Knightley’s Goodwill
Bell could tell that Hanks had come today to sign a long-term contract with him.
Moreover, this was a decision made by the higher-ups behind the platform.
Clearly, because of Bell’s current popularity, the three months of signing the contract made the higher-ups on the platform very uneasy.
This contract was not binding at all.
It had to be known that other platforms’ streamers had to sign a contract for at least an entire year.
But Bell did not think so.
The other platforms’ streamers had signed long contracts because their number of fans was basically fixed.
But he still had a lot of potential.
Bell realized that wilderness survival programs in this world were especially popular.
Now, his fan base had already increased to 20 million after just one round.
He still had many areas to explore. He would not encounter any bottlenecks before reaching 100 million followers.
His fan count was increasing every day.
Because of this, Bell felt that a three-month contract was the most reasonable.
“Mr. Bell, I’m sorry, I can’t decide this matter.”
Seeing that Bell was silent, Hanks felt the atmosphere becoming awkward and wanted to explain.
But before he could finish, Bell interrupted him.
Bell waved his hand.
“There’s no need to say anything. I understand. This is not something you can decide. Forgive me for not being able to accept this new contract. My bottom line is a three-month signing period. This cannot be changed.”
“How about this? Take this contract with you and return. We’ll follow our previous contract.”
“We can talk about it when that contract expires.”
Bell stood up and handed the contract to Hanks.
Bell looked calm, not at all angry at the company’s higher-ups for going back on their word.
Hanks was ashamed and angry.
He was not angry at Bell, but he felt that the higher-ups in the company were too stupid.
A group of useless people who only knew how to enjoy life when they had shares.
It was one thing to have fun normally, but now, they were even meddling in the company’s affairs.
The company had already roped in Bell.
Those idiots had to cause trouble at this moment. Great, they had forced Bell to leave.
That’s right, this was the same as forcing Bell to leave.
Hanks had a feeling.
From Bell’s expression, he could tell that Bell had already decided to change companies.
He sighed.
It was not because of Bell. After all, Bell did not have to worry about his next step.
With Bell’s current popularity, it would be easy to find a platform. The treatment would only be better and not worse.
Hanks was worried about himself.
He had wanted to follow Bell and work peacefully for a few years, so that he could live a carefree life.
But now, because of a group of idiots, his wish was probably going to fail.
Such a good opportunity had been missed.
How many times could a person have such an opportunity in their life?
Hanks was indignant.
‘Sigh, if only Mr. Bell could set up his own company.’
An idea suddenly occurred to Hanks, and he was shocked.
‘Yeah, if Mr. Bell establishes his own company, I can go over and continue to be his manager.’
‘If the company’s prospects are good in the future, I will be a senior of the company.’
Hanks was excited, but he quickly gave up on the idea.
It was not easy to set up a company. It was difficult for a new company to make waves as it would suffer the suppression of other major platforms.
Especially if someone who could influence so many people like Bell made a company, the industry would do its best to suppress it and not allow it to make a name for itself.
This was like the relationship between a shepherd and sheep.
At first, everything was fine. The shepherds would cut the grass and feed the sheep, then slaughter the sheep to eat the meat. Everything was so harmonious.
But if the sheep realized that they could eat grass by themselves and eat more, who would be willing to stay in the sheep pen?
Over time, shepherds without sheep would starve to death.
Therefore, once they noticed this trend, the people in the industry would work together to suppress it.
This was an unwritten rule.
Only if there was someone backing you up, could you go from being a sheep to a shepherd.
Otherwise, they would have to face the entire industry.
With this in mind, Hanks stopped hoping.
He stood up and took the contract from Bell.
“Mr. Bell, I’m glad to see you again. If there’s a chance, I’m willing to be your manager. I wish you success in the recording of the show.”
Hanks said sincerely, like he was saying goodbye.
Bell smiled.
“There might be a chance.”
Then, the two of them left the hotel.
Bell shook his head and stopped paying attention.
“It seems like I have to find a way to go to other platforms after this three month contract expires.”
Although Bell was not short of money, he needed videos to maintain his popularity.
Wilderness Survival had a time limit after all.
Bang bang bang!
Just as Bell was thinking about how to plan his route, someone knocked on the door again.
Bell froze, thinking that it was Hanks who had returned.
However, when he opened the door, Bell saw that Keira Knightley had already gotten out of bed. She was the one who had knocked.
“Good morning.”
Bell smiled and greeted her before letting her in.
Keira did not stand on ceremony. She entered the room and sat down. She even picked up the breakfast that Bell had ordered.
The actions were so natural that Bell had the illusion that this seemed to be Keira’s room instead.
“Good morning, I’m starving. I only drank with the girls yesterday and didn’t eat much.”
After eating a slice of bread, Keira heaved a sigh of relief.
Bell shrugged.
“If you like, you can eat them all.”
“I will ask the hotel to bring more.”
However, after eating a piece of bread, Keira Knightley stopped.
She composed herself and said, “I’m sorry, Bell. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but I heard some of what you said to that person.”
“I wanted to ask you if you’re interested in setting up your own company.”
“You don’t have to worry about the operation problem. I have a way to resolve it.
Just do what you did before. ”
