Are There Only Demonesses Left in the Cultivation Realm?

Chapter 208: Chapter 146: Young Master, What’s the Deal with Senior Sister?
Lu Changyuan and Qiu Yuehan didn’t leave Hua Litao’s room. Instead, they made a bit of a commotion to draw people over.
If they left now, a rumor would spread that the Miao Yu Palace Chief and a man from the Daoist Sect had conspired to murder the new Saintess of the Hehuan Sect and then fled the scene.
That would be rather troublesome.
Many disciples quickly gathered outside Hua Litao’s room. Upon seeing Hua Litao’s body, their expressions were a mixture of shock and suspicion. However, when they saw that Lu Changyuan and Qiu Yuehan had no intention of running—and were instead waiting calmly as if for something—they refrained from making any rash moves.
The Red Robe Master arrived shortly after. When she saw Hua Litao lying on the floor, her face first showed shock. But before her anger could erupt, she noticed something was amiss.
"Tao’Er... How did this happen?"
Initially, while Hua Litao was ensnared by a technique of the Dream Race, the Red Robe Master hadn’t examined her body closely and thus hadn’t noticed anything. Now, with Hua Litao’s corpse here, the Dream Demon Technique had failed. As a Sixth Realm cultivator, the Red Robe Master could naturally spot the inconsistencies.
"You’re asking me? Isn’t she a disciple of your own sect?"
The Red Robe Master was at a loss for words.
Only then did Lu Changyuan speak up. "This person has been back for several days. Have you truly not noticed anything, True Master? From the looks of her, she’s been dead for over a month, at least."
"Indeed, I didn’t notice. That this technique could conceal the aura of death... A spell to make the dead appear living?" The Red Robe Master’s expression was grave.
Lu Changyuan shook his head. "A Dream Demon Technique, and a high-level one at that. This young woman likely died on her way to the Demon Race."
The Red Robe Master stored away Hua Litao’s body. "A Dream Demon? What does this have to do with Dream Demons? And hasn’t the Dream Demon Race been quite obedient in recent years?"
Lu Changyuan said faintly, "We can discuss that later. For now, the information she brought back about the Fox Race and the Fox Lord can no longer be trusted."
Hearing this, the Red Robe Master was startled. She quickly added, "There shouldn’t be any major problems. After all, everything was normal with the Fox Race last year, and we haven’t heard of any changes within their clan this year."
She was afraid of the Daoist Sect placing blame on them.
Lu Changyuan, for his part, had no intention of blaming the Hehuan Sect. "It’s unlikely there are any issues with the Fox Race itself, but the position of Demon Lord is another matter. Send someone to the Fox Race again. I will report this matter concerning the Dream Demons to my sect."
No one knew if Hua Litao had been ensnared by the Dream Demon before or after meeting the Fox Race. Furthermore, no one knew if her memories of the Fox Race had been fabricated by the Dream Race. That was why the Hehuan Sect had to send someone to the Fox Race again.
It would be best if nothing was wrong.
But if something *was* wrong... Lu Changyuan narrowed his eyes. ’My apprentice isn’t on Celestial Mountain right now.’
The Red Robe Master nodded and agreed, feeling that this whole affair was both unlucky and troublesome.
Hua Litao had been groomed to replace Mei Zhaozhao. Her talent was exceptional, but she had died not long after being officially appointed... And Mei Zhaozhao was dead, too.
It seemed the position of Saintess of the Hehuan Sect would be vacant once again.
With that, Qiu Yuehan and Lu Changyuan left the Hehuan Sect.
Once they had passed through the main gates of the Hehuan Sect, the Moon Fairy finally spoke up. "I remember Senior Sister Jiayi saying she taught the Clan Leader of the Dream Race a lesson a few years ago. She said afterward, all he could do was shout ’Long live the Chang’an Daoist!’ Your reputation is quite something, isn’t it?"
What could Lu Changyuan say? He could only reply, "That does sound like Mo Yuan’s personality."
It was just the sort of thing his apprentice would do.
Qiu Yuehan recalled the terrifying figure standing atop a mountain peak. It seemed now that Leng Moyuan was on the same level as the Nether Monarch of years past.
The best class of disciples the Chang’an Daoist ever had, or so they say.
"What sort of unspeakable relationship do you have with the Senior Sister? I’ve noticed the Senior Sister has an incredible figure, you know."
’What kind of unreasonable fuss was this?’
Lu Changyuan could only say, "You might not believe this, but she probably hates my guts. I’d be lucky if she didn’t try to kill me on sight."
Qiu Yuehan shot Lu Changyuan a sidelong glance, her eyes twinkling. "Does so much hate turn into love? What’s all this nonsense about hate? She learned all her Cultivation from you. Don’t tell me you made her learn the sword without any clothes on back in the day? Is *that* why she hates you?"
For once, Lu Changyuan was silent for a moment.
Then he said, "Stop spouting such nonsense. By the way, what realm is the Clan Leader of the Dream Race’s Cultivation?"
The Fairy thought for a moment. "Sixth Realm, probably. But Senior Sister Jiayi said that the Clan Leader of the Dream Race has been consolidating in the Sixth Realm for a very long time. He’s a rare member of a Foreign Race with a chance of breaking through to the Seventh Realm."
’So before he could break through to the Seventh Realm, she summoned him to the Daoist Sect and gave him a thorough thrashing? Is that it?’
Lu Changyuan chuckled. "In any case, let’s go to Miao Yu Palace and see Tang’Er first."
Qiu Yuehan’s tone changed, becoming incomparably alluring, far more seductive than the common coquettes of the Hehuan Sect. "I remember my junior sister telling me that if I ever manage to climb into your bed, I have to let her know."
"She really said something like that?"
Lu Changyuan didn’t dare to laugh.
Because Lu Changyuan remembered Xia Lianxue saying something quite similar to him.
"Are you suggesting we hide it from our junior sister?"
"Do you think we could?" Lu Changyuan sighed.
"There’s always a way, if you really want to hide it."
Lu Changyuan turned his head to look at Qiu Yuehan, only to find the Moon Fairy smiling bewitchingly, as if she were looking forward to a good show.
’I don’t know what show she’s expecting. The most Tang’Er will do is be angry with me for a little while. As for you... you’d better hope for the best.’

Not far from the vast territory of the Glazed Dynasty lay another mortal kingdom, named Wei.
Compared to the Glazed Dynasty, the Wei Kingdom was much smaller. Its territory was only about a third of the Glazed Dynasty’s, and with even fewer people, its total population was only about a quarter of its neighbor’s.
A small country with a sparse population, its fate seemed destined to be far less stable than that of its powerful neighbor.
