Chapter 192: Chapter 137: When Will You Eat Me?

The blood in the Evil Buddha’s hand was not the only sample; other descendants of the Blood Demon Lord had surely died at the hands of the Brain-Eating Evil Buddha.

The Evil Buddha crushed the blood in his hand. In the distance, the Blood Demon Lord’s body suddenly exploded, his own boiling blood turning against him in a backlash.

But the Blood Demon Lord was a Yao Guang Great Power, after all. He managed to reform his body in mid-air. His Demon Blade multiplied into thousands, and the terrifying blade energy sliced the void into pieces.

Lu Changyuan watched the two locked in their desperate struggle. ’So he’s using the blood of a descendant and the Blood Demon Dao to place a reverse curse on the Blood Demon Lord? No wonder the Leg-Eating Monk wanted to capture Xue Yanluo; her bloodline is the purest of all... It feels like none of these so-called Three Thousand Great Demons are as terrifying as humans.’

Compared to the straightforward Great Demons, the humans who had attained the Dao were masters of intricate plots, their every move a scheme within a scheme.

Although the Blood Demon Lord was incredibly powerful, the Evil Buddha had been plotting this for a long time. Furthermore, the Blood Demon hated its creator to the bone, willing even to help the Evil Buddha just to see the Demon Lord dead. This made the curse all the more terrifying.

"EVIL BUDDHA!!!" the Blood Demon Lord roared, unleashing a furious strike with his blade.

A wave of blade energy surged forth, seemingly tearing the world in two as the very earth began to tremble.

The combination of the Blood Demon Dao—which originated from the Blood Demon itself—and the bloodline curse was undoubtedly causing the Blood Demon Lord a great deal of trouble.

Lu Changyuan sidestepped slightly, dodging the wave of blade energy. "If he can’t win, why doesn’t he run?"

Qiu Yuehan thought for a moment. "He’d probably lose face. A lot of people in the Cultivation Realm are like that."

Lu Changyuan squinted at the scene. "If he loses and the Evil Buddha consumes the Blood Demon Lord, he’ll be even more difficult to deal with."

The Sea of Blood churned, and waves of heat sent scarlet vapors rising into the air.

The Evil Buddha stood in the Void, an aura of Buddhist light and Demonic Qi swirling around him. The interplay of light and shadow made his savage face look all the more grotesque.

He looked down upon the gradually calming Sea of Blood, his laughter booming like thunder. "Xue Lie! You could have made a thousand mistakes, but your greatest was leaving that Blood Demon alive."

Deep within the Sea of Blood, dark currents swirled.

The previous Great Compassion Buddha Palm strike had slammed the Blood Demon Lord straight into the heart of the Sea of Blood. Countless skeletons were shattered by the blow, their fragments now bobbing in the bloody water.

"Still playing dead?"

A vicious glint flashed in the Evil Buddha’s eyes as he pressed his palms together.

"Get the hell out here!"

A thousand hands manifested and blasted toward the Sea of Blood.

CRACK!

Space itself seemed to let out a mournful cry, unable to bear the strain.

"Not good!"

BOOM!!!

The entire Burial Ground violently exploded. Countless bones and bloody water mixed together, forming a destructive torrent that swept out in all directions.

The so-called Burial Ground was a small pocket dimension hidden within a Void fissure inside the Blood Demon Palace’s volcano. Now that the pocket dimension had exploded, the mountains of corpses and the sea of blood from within the Burial Ground poured into the volcano.

Lu Changyuan reacted in a flash. He wrapped an arm around Qiu Yuehan’s waist, and in a single blur of motion, leaped across the falling rocks to reach the lip of the crater.

"We have to go! Now!" Qiu Yuehan urged, as if she had sensed something.

"What’s wrong?"

Before the words were even out of her mouth, Lu Changyuan acted on instinct, trusting her completely. He held Qiu Yuehan tight and retreated several steps.

RUMBLE!

The volcano erupted.

"SKREEE!!!"

Lu Changyuan and Qiu Yuehan both heard the draconic cry at the same time.

The leaden-gray clouds hung low in the sky, like a colossal shroud blanketing the Celestial Vault.

From the depths of the roiling gloom, the colossal dragon eye that had once looked down upon all living things plummeted like a meteor, plunging into the roaring mouth of the volcano.

The world changed in an instant. It was as if a nightmare from the distant Ancient Times had been made manifest, a cataclysm reborn.

Scalding volcanic ash mixed with scarlet rain, pouring down and dyeing that corner of the world into a veritable Blood Prison.

Amidst the viscous, rust-scented curtain of rain, the lava within the crater parted as if in submission. A terrifying, space-twisting figure emerged, cloaked in an aura of despair and destruction. It let out a world-defiling roar that shook all of creation.

It rose from the abyss of the Earth Core like a thunderclap, its jet-black scales seeming to devour all light.

The wind and rain wailed and spiraled around it, like its own innate servants. Commanding the clouds and summoning the storms seemed to be its very nature.

Qiu Yuehan finally recalled the Nether Monarch’s final opponent: a black creature so fearsome that even the incomparably powerful Nether Monarch and the Celestial Dao itself had regarded it with dread.

The pupils of the distant survivors were filled with the reflection of that calamitous shadow. A primal terror, a tremor from deep within their bloodlines, surged forth. Their throats felt as if they were being squeezed by an invisible hand, and they could only force out dry, cracked, hoarse syllables.

"A dragon..."
