Are There Only Demonesses Left in the Cultivation Realm?
Chapter 179 - 133: When Junior Sister Impersonated Me
Chapter 179: Chapter 133: When Junior Sister Impersonated Me
The relationship between the Human Race and the Demon Race was far from harmonious; they were all but guaranteed to fight on sight.
This was especially true after the turmoil caused by the Desire Demon led to internal strife within the Human Race. During this time, the Demon Race, which had been suppressed for thousands of years, suddenly rose up and added more fuel to the fires of a chaotic era.
But that era of chaos was brought to an end by the Chang’an Daoist, and the Demon Race’s most prominent troublemakers were cut down.
But the Demon Race was impossible to wipe out. New demons would always rise to replace the fallen, especially since any non-sentient beast that awakened its intelligence would become a demon. Thus, an endless campaign of slaughter was no solution.
Thus, the Chang’an Daoist decided that rather than waiting for the Demon Race to grow strong, he would support a Master of Ten Thousand Beasts himself.
And so, the Fox Race caught the Chang’an Daoist’s eye. As it happened, the Hehuan Sect needed to offer the Chang’an Daoist a token of allegiance at that very time. This gave rise to the connection between the Hehuan Sect and the Fox Race.
Surprisingly, yet it made perfect sense: the Fox Race and the Hehuan Sect were an excellent match. The two sides hit it off immediately and became inseparable. Moreover, after learning the Hehuan Sect’s Heart Method, the Fox Lord truly managed to suppress the Tiger Race and the Ape Race, becoming the one true Demon Lord.
Then, a little over a decade ago, during the tenure of the previous Hehuan Sect Master, Bu Bailian, the Fox Race brought her an infant.
It was also on a winter’s day. Sunlight glanced off the snow, making the proudly blooming, wine-red plum blossoms appear all the more vibrant and beautiful. A gust of wind blew past, and a single petal drifted down to land on the infant’s forehead.
Bu Bailian gazed at the infant’s tranquil, sleeping face. "A plum blossom falling in the snow... Let’s call her Mei Zhaozhao."
From that day on, Mei Zhaozhao began her Cultivation in the Hehuan Sect. Her talent was extraordinary, even surpassing that of the young Bu Bailian. This was especially true for the Red Desire Technique; she grasped the fundamentals almost instantly, leaving her peers far behind in her wake.
She mastered the Hehuan Sect’s famed Charm Technique with casual ease. Mei Zhaozhao merely had to curl her lips into a smile to send one’s mind into a daze, as if she were born to wield such an art.
But upon entering the Third Realm, Mei Zhaozhao made a horrifying discovery. Even when she wasn’t using her Charm Technique, ordinary people who saw her would instinctively be overcome with desire. More terrifying still, this desire was felt by men and women alike.
As her Realm continued to increase, and with Bu Bailian’s subsequent disappearance, the gazes from certain Cultivators within the Sect grew increasingly inappropriate, as if they wanted to devour her whole.
Mei Zhaozhao had no choice but to conceal herself within a specially tailored black robe.
This granted her a few more years of peace.
She hadn’t revealed her face to anyone in years, and she was feeling quite nervous now.
"You have to hold him back, no matter what."
’So what if she’s beautiful?’ Lu Changyuan thought. ’It’s not like I’m short on beautiful people in my life.’
’Besides, your master and your grandmaster—two whole generations of them—couldn’t break my Supreme Pure Spirit Forget Immortal Technique. You haven’t even reached the Fifth Realm. What could you possibly do?’
"Well then..."
The black robe was gently removed.
Beneath it, a black long-robe embroidered with red plum blossoms clung tightly to her skin. It hugged her full, round hips and cinched at a waist so slender it looked as though a single hand could encircle it. The garment outlined curves so full they seemed ready to overflow. Higher still were her stunning collarbones and lips that could bewitch the very soul.
Her features were enchanting to the bone, made all the more alluring by her dewy brows. And yet, her girlish expression lent a strange trace of purity to her face. This, combined with her long, wine-red hair that seemed to carry a delicate fragrance, made her appear all the more captivatingly vulnerable.
Seven parts bewitching charm, three parts pure innocence. That was Mei Zhaozhao.
"Grab him! Quick, grab him!"
Lu Changyuan snapped back to his senses, only to find Qiu Yuehan gripping his arm. The Moon Fairy was looking at him with a complicated expression on her face.
"Wait, it’s not like that."
’It wasn’t that he was having any strange feelings for Mei Zhaozhao. Rather, the part of his Five Desires and Six Dust Heart Transformation Technique corresponding to carnal desire was trembling madly. That was what had caught him off guard and made him lose focus for a moment.’
’There’s something wrong with this Mei Zhaozhao. What in the world is she cultivating?’
’Lu Changyuan knew the Red Desire Technique well. The Charm Technique derived from this ultimate Heart Method of the Hehuan Sect was indeed terrifying—it could even bewilder the Spirit born from the Netherworld’s Xiao Qingfeng—but it should have been absolutely incapable of affecting his own Heart Method.’
’What the hell has the Hehuan Sect cooked up?!’
Qiu Yuehan frowned at Lu Changyuan. "Do you remember Hua Mumu?"
"Who’s Hua Mumu?"
Seeing that the name didn’t ring a bell for Lu Changyuan, Qiu Yuehan had to clarify, "The Red Fox. That Stupid Fox."
Only then did Lu Changyuan realize that the Red Fox who was always with the Nether Monarch was named Hua Mumu. No wonder Jue and the others called her Lord Mumu.
"I remember her, but... the memory’s a bit hazy."
At Qiu Yuehan’s words, Lu Changyuan realized he couldn’t recall the Red Fox’s face anymore. That bewitching face was fading from his memory, gradually being replaced by Mei Zhaozhao’s.
It was the same for Qiu Yuehan.
In a single instant, she too had forgotten the Red Fox’s face. It was a bizarre sensation, as if the Red Fox had always looked exactly like Mei Zhaozhao, yet there was a subtle, unsettling oddness to that thought.
They looked at each other, both seeing the confusion in the other’s eyes.
Mei Zhaozhao had no idea what they were talking about, but she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Eh? You two aren’t affected by me at all."
Mei Zhaozhao took two steps forward, her clothes trembling with the movement. A bewitching smile appeared on her face as she moved closer to inspect Lu Changyuan, then Qiu Yuehan.
"Hmph. I’m beautiful, aren’t I? You said before that I must be too ugly to show my face. Weren’t you just dazzled by my beauty all the same?"
Lu Changyuan had indeed teased her like that before they went to the Nether River. He hadn’t expected her to remember.
