Are There Only Demonesses Left in the Cultivation Realm?
Chapter 172 - 129: Red Desire Technique
Chapter 172: Chapter 129: Red Desire Technique
In the wind, an aura of black and white transformed into a streak of light.
Xue Yanluo was fleeing with Bai Wei. He was wounded, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but his pace had barely slowed.
A massive Brahma Seal was branded on his right arm, currently emitting a gloomy light. Each pulse sent unimaginable pain searing through him.
"Don’t run, Blood Demon Young Master! I can see you have a natural aptitude for the faith. Hurry back with me to see the Evil Buddha. In time, I will shave your head and tonsure you, and you can inherit the title of my junior brother, the Heart-Eating Monk."
A wild laugh echoed from behind Xue Yanluo.
A monk was perched atop two enormous legs. At this moment, those thighs, as thick as ancient trees, were running at incredible speed, kicking up clouds of dust.
"Stop running! Our sect will not treat you poorly."
The Leg-Eating Monk was still chasing Xue Yanluo.
Even with his prodigious talent, Xue Yanluo had yet to enter the Fifth Realm. Fighting an expert of that level was an immense struggle, especially one who was an Evil Monk from the Eating Buddha Sect.
Fleeing was his only option. And because he was carrying Bai Wei, Xue Yanluo could never seem to shake the Leg-Eating Monk.
Xue Yanluo roared, "The Blood Demon Lord couldn’t care less if I live or die! If the Evil Buddha thinks he can capture me and trade me for some benefit, he’ll find he gets nothing at all!"
The Leg-Eating Monk cackled. "But I’ve heard the Young Master is highly esteemed by the Blood Demon Lord. Weren’t you even given full authority over the Dragon Transformation Bone affair? The key to the Burial Ground should be in your hands as well, shouldn’t it?"
Xue Yanluo sneered. "I’ve already returned the key to the Sect. Believe it or not, I have nothing to do with the Blood Demon Palace anymore!"
The so-called key was the Young Master’s Token, but he had returned that Token to the Blood Demon Palace long ago. It was now in the hands of the Cyan Blood Master.
"Even without the key, just getting some information about the Dragon Transformation Bone from the Blood Demon Young Master would be wonderful. What is this so-called Dragon Transformation Bone for, anyway? I’d like you to explain it to me!"
Buddhist light flared around the Leg-Eating Monk again as a gigantic palm formed of light chopped down from mid-air.
Xue Yanluo gritted his teeth.
’All I wanted was to live in seclusion and cultivate in peace. I even abandoned the Blood Dao and switched to the Yin-Yang Dao of Desire Destruction. Why won’t these damned cultivators just leave me alone?’
Xue Yanluo spun around. The bow reappeared in his hands and he drew it taut. The resulting arrow of light clashed head-on with the giant palm, but it failed to completely dissipate the attack. The massive palm print still slammed into his body. He coughed up a mouthful of blood as he fell to the ground, but he managed to shield Bai Wei.
The Leg-Eating Monk roared with laughter. "I told you to stop running. This chase has made me quite tired."
A gust of red wind rushed toward him, but the Leg-Eating Monk met it with another palm strike, shattering it.
The Leg-Eating Monk placed his palms together. He looked down at Xue Yanluo, who lay in a deep crater, powerless to resist, and smiled. "Come back with me obediently. With your talent, Young Master, when the Evil Buddha ascends, you can be the next Young Master."
Xue Yanluo held Bai Wei protectively in his arms, his clothes shielding her. His tone was disdainful. "A sect that couldn’t even keep its own stronghold from being destroyed."
"Who in this world could withstand a single sword strike from Jiayi? The fact that our sect managed to preserve so many of its elites is already an incredible feat."
"Hah! Elites? Then how come I heard that all the True Masters of the Eating Buddha Sect were completely wiped out?"
The words stung the Leg-Eating Monk deeply. The smile on his face vanished, and his eyes narrowed.
"Young Master, it seems you’d prefer to do this the hard way."
The Leg-Eating Monk stared at Xue Yanluo’s legs. "Otherwise, I don’t mind making you suffer a little. As long as I bring you back, it probably won’t matter if you’re missing a couple of legs."
A nauseating hunger glinted in the monk’s eyes.
"Yes, let’s do that. I’ll be taking the legs of you two!"
’One person, two legs. Two people, four legs.’ A greedy glint shone in the Leg-Eating Monk’s eyes as he reached his rough hands toward Xue Yanluo.
"Hm?"
An expression of disbelief crossed the Leg-Eating Monk’s face. He roared in fury, "A demon from the Hehuan Sect?!"
With a POOF, the figures of Xue Yanluo and Bai Wei vanished, dissolving into a puff of pink smoke. The Leg-Eating Monk instantly realized he had been duped. Everything from the moment Xue Yanluo fell had been an illusion.
He had fallen for it!
The Hehuan Sect’s Red Desire Technique was of little use against the Righteous Dao, which focused on Desire Destruction, but against the Demon Sect, which embraced Desire Release, it was unerringly effective.
"Who?! Which vile bastard was it!"
The Leg-Eating Monk flew into a thunderous rage.
The person who had used the Red Desire Technique to fool him had to be in the Fifth Realm at the very least, or else a member of the Hehuan Sect who was extremely close to breaking through.

Lu Changyuan raised Broken Thought and fought his way out of the village.
He had to destroy this painting. If he tore the scroll, the Painting Demon would have nowhere left to run.
’Does it still have the strength to paint monsters to fight me?’
The Painting Demon was already grievously wounded. It had painstakingly constructed a colossal monster to hold back Qiu Yuehan, yet somehow it still had the strength to paint hordes of Ink Demons to stop Lu Changyuan.
In truth, the Painting Demon had no choice. Lu Changyuan had seen through its scheme, and it could only pour all its remaining power into its Painting Dao to stop him.
The darkness of the night was torn asunder by surging ink. The first monster erupted from the ground; it was shaped like a giant serpent, slithering forward and leaving a trail of viscous ink in its wake.
"Too weak."
The edge of Lu Changyuan’s sword slid across its neck. Ink splattered, leaving mottled stains on the bluestone path.
More silhouettes materialized from all directions. Multi-headed, multi-limbed beasts of ink-wash pounced silently, only to be utterly dissipated by a single slash from Lu Changyuan’s sword. The only thing left in the air was the faint sound of dripping ink hitting the ground.
ROAR!
The ink grew thicker. A creature resembling a two-headed lizard snapped several large trees as it roared and charged forward.
But Lu Changyuan advanced instead of retreating. The tip of his sword precisely pierced the gap between the two heads. With a flick of his wrist, a beam of Profound Heroic Sword Qi lit up the sky, and the lizard collapsed with a thunderous crash.
Treading on the ink that now flowed across the ground, Lu Changyuan sighed. "Why do they all love this trick?"
He said this because the figure of a woman had suddenly appeared before him. Dressed in white and holding an umbrella, she looked like a fairy in the rain.
Xia Lianxue smiled gently, but before she could speak, Lu Changyuan’s sword light plowed through her. The Little Fairy’s illusory form instantly dissipated.
"Do all of you Great Demons love transforming into the loved ones from your victims’ memories?"
Lu Changyuan didn’t hesitate for a second, nor did he ever believe for a moment that the Little Fairy was real.
Flashes of sword light erupted continuously as he carved a path toward the outskirts of the village.
There were two ways to break out of the Painting Demon’s painting. The first was to kill the Painting Demon’s true body, but its true body was in hiding and refused to show itself, so naturally, Lu Changyuan couldn’t find it.
The second method was simpler: directly destroy the world within the scroll. But since neither Lu Changyuan nor Qiu Yuehan was anywhere near the Sixth Realm, that was obviously out of the question. Therefore, he could only resort to a variation of the second method—finding a flaw in the painting itself.
The Painting Demon’s art prided itself on its realism. As long as he could find the part of the painting that was false and strike it with the sharpness of Broken Thought, he could easily tear the entire canvas to shreds.
So, where was the flaw in this painting? Such a difficult thing to guess.
Lu Changyuan let out a cold laugh. His figure shot forward, heading straight for the old man’s grave.
