Everyone was aware of how much he had practiced transforming into a humanoid demon with very limited alteration on his physique.

"Why? Are you trying to fail?" Skye muttered to herself as he believed that Vin wasn’t doing his best to win.

Dalton blocked each strike, but his barrier trembled. "Impressive. You adapt quickly. But your energy burns too fast. Can you last in a prolonged fight?"
Vin snarled, half‑transforming again, wings sprouting as he unleashed a barrage of slashes. "I don’t need to last forever. I just need to dominate!"
After two minutes of relentless assault, Vin stepped back, panting slightly but grinning. "Satisfied?"
Dalton smirked. "You’re reckless, but powerful. You’d be terrifying in a chaotic arena.
"Why? Are you trying to fail?" Skye muttered under her breath, convinced Vin wasn’t showing his best.
But Vin’s eyes were filled with confidence.
His claws dug into the stone floor, and then he vanished!

A shockwave spread across the training hall.
Dalton’s dark barrier was then triggered as Vin slammed into it!

The young man rebounded and darted to the side. His speed was so great that even the professors had trouble tracking him. Thankfully, he wasn’t injured.
Well, Vin didn’t really use much force behind the attack. It was not meant to break the barrier outright, but to test its limits or probe for weaknesses.
"I finally understand..." Vin muttered.
"Huh? What did you understand? " Dalton murmured as he looked at the young student.
However, Vin just moved again. This time, claws scraped against Dalton’s barrier.

Dalton grunted as another strike rattled his barrier.

He leapt high, before stopping mid‑air and slamming down with a force that cracked the floor beneath Dalton’s feet!

Without pause, Vin dashed away, circling the professor...
He tried to be unpredictable... one moment, his image was at Dalton’s flank, the next one was a claw strike at his back.

Dalton turned, his eyes settling on the last candidate. "Now then... Ruth. It’s your turn."
The hall grew quiet again as Ruth stepped forward.
Everyone went silent as they waited for her performance.
"Alright! It’s my turn now." She muttered as she took a deep breath.
During all this time, she had been prepping until her turn came!
Because of that, she was more confident than the other two!
Soon, she traced glowing symbols in the air as she used her Draconic Runes that were filled with power.

A dragon fire rune ignited, sending a wave of flames toward Dalton.
"That’s not going to work..." The man said as he blocked it easily and threw it back! But Ruth immediately shifted to an ice rune, forming a crystalline shield that absorbed his counterstrike!

Then, with a wave of her wrist, she summoned a binding rune. Chains of energy wrapped around Dalton’s barrier before they started tightening like serpents.
Dalton’s eyes widened slightly.

Ruth smiled faintly at his sarcastic tone...
