Apotheosis Begins with Tai Chi

Chapter 235 - 131: Unceasing

Goods moved in and out with incredible speed, raking in a fortune daily. The path forward was clear and unobstructed, while their foundation was as solid as a rock.

Getting even a small piece of that pie was a surefire way to make a profit.

It was no wonder so many merchants were fighting tooth and nail for a chance to cooperate.

"I won’t go to make the introduction for you."

Chen Cheng said,

"When you have time, just go over yourself. Mention my name, and they’ll take care of everything for you.

But there’s one condition: your family’s goods have to be reliable. Otherwise, the partnership won’t last."

"Great! That’s wonderful! I’ll go over with my mother-in-law first thing tomorrow morning!"

Having received Chen Cheng’s promise, Zhou Long’s face instantly lit up with a grin.

But he quickly suppressed his delight, patting his chest as he promised,

"As for the quality of the goods, Brother Cheng, you don’t have to worry at all! As long as I, Zhou Long, am alive, I’ll personally oversee quality control to ensure everything sent to the Yongsheng Store is the absolute best!"

"Alright. Your word is good enough for me."

Chen Cheng nodded. Just as he was about to change the subject, his ears twitched slightly.

He immediately turned his head to look at the main entrance.

At that moment.

A young man, built like an iron tower with a reddish-bronze face, stood at the entrance.

He had just reached the entrance and hadn’t even taken a step inside when his eyes met Chen Cheng’s. The man couldn’t help but tremble, a look of clear disbelief flashing in his eyes.

He was a Martial Artist with a respectable level of Cultivation. Just a moment ago, he had been moving swiftly through the alley outside, intentionally controlling his Step Technique to keep his movements quiet.

And yet, Chen Cheng had locked onto him before he even arrived! And amidst all the noise, no less!

It was simply unbelievable!

In contrast to the young man’s astonishment, Chen Cheng remained perfectly calm.

For the past month, Chen Cheng had focused his training on the Four Gods Profound Body, Foundation Establishment Tai Chi, and the Silent Thunder Treading Skill.

However, he would seamlessly integrate the practice of Health Tai Chi between sessions of each of his main Skills.

The Health-Preserving Traits continuously nourished his Divine Marrow, causing his senses to grow stronger day by day.

The degree of enhancement was still small.

But with constant accumulation, quantitative change would eventually lead to a qualitative leap.

The significant improvement in his hearing was just one minor result.

More importantly...

[Health Tai Chi]: Perfection, Traits (Nourishing Life, Harmony, Unceasing)

「Nourishing Life: Circulating Tai Chi can nourish one’s physique, heal injuries and illnesses, and gently nourish the Divine Marrow.」

「Harmony: The body and Heart Spirit are in perfect harmony, reducing the consumption of stamina and Heart Power from all actions, and increasing the effectiveness of all activities that strengthen the body and Heart Spirit.」

「Unceasing: The Tai Chi Qi is ever-generating and unceasing. It extends one’s natural years and allows for constant self-renewal.」

More than ten days ago, his Health Tai Chi had already reached the level of Perfection.

The moment the new Unyielding Attribute was unlocked, the so-called Tai Chi Qi appeared in the depths of Chen Cheng’s Heart Spirit.

It was a wisp of Qi, half white and half black, as fine as silk and as ethereal as smoke.

Chen Cheng wasn’t sure if it had a physical form. He couldn’t communicate with it, much less control or summon it.

He could only perceive it through introspection: deep within his Heart Spirit, the Qi endlessly circulated in the shape of an infinity symbol, "∞".

This corresponded to the first part of the Unyielding Attribute’s description: *The Tai Chi Qi is ever-generating and unceasing.*

Chen Cheng had yet to find out its specific effects.

As for the second part of the description—*It extends one’s natural years and allows for constant self-renewal*—Chen Cheng had managed to grasp its meaning over the past month through personal experience and careful observation.

’Extending one’s natural years must mean increasing one’s longevity.’

As long as he kept practicing Health Tai Chi, the upper limit of his lifespan would increase little by little.

The increase with each practice and each passing day might be minuscule, but as the saying goes, many a little makes a mickle. Over time, quantitative change would inevitably lead to a qualitative one.

’Constant self-renewal,’ on the other hand, was even more profound.

’My own metabolism has become faster and more thorough, even imbued with a hint of the supernatural.’

’During the practice of Health Tai Chi, every cell in my body, from head to toe, continuously weeds out the weak and preserves the strong.’

’The bad, weak, and old cells are all metabolized away.’

’In their place, good, strong, new cells divide to create even better, stronger, and newer ones.’

’Of course, this isn’t an instantaneous transformation, but a gradual rebirth through successive replacement.’

After unlocking the Unyielding Attribute, Chen Cheng watched as a single white hair on his head turned a tenth of the way back to black each day.

It was a small detail that spoke volumes. The same kind of rebirth was happening inside his body, bit by bit, every single day.

The cycle repeated, generating life without end.

After more than ten days of continuous practice, the subtle changes began to take a more definite shape.

He could clearly feel his skin had become firmer, suffused with a gentle luster. His muscles were leaner and more powerful—not thick and bulging, but dense and compact. His bones and tendons were tougher. Every movement carried a heavy, solid force, as if his bones had been filled with iron. Even his hair was blacker and thicker, and his fingernails had a healthy pinkish hue.

His six senses—sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and even his Heart—were all sharper than before.

Even his Root Bone had improved significantly.

These changes reminded Chen Cheng of the term ’Washing Marrow.’

But after a moment’s thought, he was absolutely certain that Washing Marrow was ultimately a Lower Grade method.

Both resulted in a complete metamorphosis, but Washing Marrow was a one-time, passive transformation forcibly induced by an external force.

It was like throwing a piece of pig iron into a furnace to be hammered into shape. Although the impurities were removed, its fundamental nature was also damaged.

’Constant self-renewal,’ however, was an active, gradual, and unceasing evolution that came from within.

It didn’t harm one’s fundamental nature. Instead, it was based upon that nature, allowing it to improve daily and grow stronger without end.

The gap between the two couldn’t be measured in mere multiples.

They weren’t even on the same level at all.

"Cheng."

The young man at the gate walked over, leaned close to Chen Cheng’s ear, and whispered something.

Even Zhou Long, standing right beside them, couldn’t hear a single word.

"Xiaolong, keep an eye on my mother for me. I have to step out for a bit... Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be back for the wedding feast."

After saying this, Chen Cheng left with the young man.

Zhou Long opened his mouth to speak but didn’t ask any questions.
