Chapter 882: My Water Broke

Though Dacheng was upset with Bai Meiyue’s ruthlessness, he knew that he could not become enemies with her; it was better to be acquainted with her even if they could not be friends. He knew that this was the only way to keep peace between the two of them. He used to think that even though Bai Meiyue was strong, such a soft-hearted person would eventually end up being dragged down by the burdens that she had collected in her safe base.

This was the reason why he did not want to make a fuss in front of the safe base for the time being. Who would have thought that the man would make a fuss in front of the safe base? What if Bai Meiyue heard the cries of this man and came looking for them? The last thing she needed was for them to be attacked by Bai Meiyue.

"I lost it!" As soon as the two of them finished scolding the man, the ability user turned to look at Dacheng and Lu Yin with a hint of resentment. He exclaimed in a loud voice, "Someone actually stole my king snake." When he thought about how he had worked so hard to steal the eggs of the mutated snakes, and in the end, when the eggs hatched, they were stolen, he felt a surge of anger in his heart.

He had been keeping guard outside the convoy because Dacheng was worried that Bai Meiyue would attack them due to her impatient attitude. But who would have thought that the woman never appeared; instead, his snakes ended up being stolen. Those three snake eggs were something that he had gotten his hands on after working so hard that he nearly lost his arm. He also worked hard to hatch the bloodfume snake eggs. They had somehow hatched a few hours ago. However, when he returned to his RV, he realised that the snow-white fur that he had placed in a corner of his RV with the snake eggs only had the eggshells, and the three bloodfume snakes were missing!

Those snakes were still young; there was no way they could have sneaked out of the RV on their own.

When the ability user thought about how the snakes were stolen, he turned pale with fright. He ignored all the rules that were set by the leaders of the convoy and rushed to look for them. But even after searching for a long time, he did not find anything. When he thought about how he had lost the king snake, he felt really upset.

No one knew how much effort he had spent on cultivating these snakes. Among other things, he only knew how to raise these snakes as his pets. This was his only skill. Now that the snakes were missing, the man was filled with regret. These snakes were really hard to find, and the poison was in their fangs as well as at the end of their tails.

What was more, he had found the eggs of the third-level bloodfume snake.

The reason he had spent so much effort hatching these snakes from the start was that he hoped he could domesticate them by using his abilities. Every day he would pour his essence into those eggs, in hopes that he would be able to raise them into his pets. Seeing that these three snakes were about to turn into his servants, he was filled with a sense of glee, as if he had won a victorious battle.

It was such a loss that someone actually stole them right outside the safe base controlled by Bai Meiyue. Even if he wanted to rush outside and demand to search the safe base, he was scared silly just thinking about how Bai Meiyue could use all kinds of torment to kill him.

"You mean to say that someone stole your bloodfume snakes?" Dacheng was already unwilling to leave the safe base, but now that this man had lost his snakes, he was even less willing to leave the safe base. He, too, just like the ability user, wanted to rush inside the safe base and search for those snakes, but he knew that he would lose his head if he even tried to do such a thing.

He was unwilling, and the ability user was even less willing. No matter what, he could not convince himself to give up the mutated young king snake, even if he let go of the two other snakes. It would be fine if the young snakes died, but if they ended up being tamed by others, he would feel lost. Why would he lose the chance to control the snakes while someone else could control them? The thought of someone stealing his opportunity and becoming as strong as him, the ability user felt even more upset.

However, even if the man was unwilling, he knew that he could no longer stay behind. Searching the safe base was simply out of the question. Since that was the case, what else could they do other than leave? The ability user glared at the safe base with a hint of anger in his eyes. He better not find out that the one who stole the snakes was from the safe base. Or else he would fight with Bai Meiyue to the death!

The convoy slowly left, one by one. As for the soldiers who were wounded in the last battle, they were all left behind outside the safe base. These men still thought that they would be able to receive medical treatment from the safe base. Thus, they stayed back even though they knew that they were abandoned. However, even though they were waiting for the safe base to open its gates, nothing like that happened. The gates remained closed. And the poisonous fumes turned even stronger.

While these men were waiting for the safe base to open, Bai Meiyue had locked herself in the bathroom. She carefully lifted her skirt and took off her underpants. When she saw the lump of thick brown mucus on the fabric, Bai Meiyue could not help but frown. When she thought about her past life, she seemed to have faced the same discharge as well. Later, she looked into this mucus and found out that it was actually a cervical mucus plug, which played a role in securing the amniotic fluid inside the womb.

Now that the mucus had discharged, she knew that the cervix had started to open, which meant that in the next few days she would be able to give birth very soon.

Bai Meiyue was a little overjoyed. Now that she was about to give birth, she would soon meet her son. She immediately dropped her skirt down and pulled her underpants up. She was about to leave the bathroom and look for Shen Zhen, but as soon as she walked out of the bathroom, she ended up getting the same familiar contractions. Bai Meiyue’s face turned pale. She felt something hot and liquid drip down her legs. She peeked at the bottom of her feet and realised that a urine-like liquid had flowed out of her!

She sucked in a breath and cried, "Someone! Mom! Big brother! Second brother! My water has broken. Please come and help me."

Meng Suisui, who was waiting for Bai Meiyue to come outside, jumped when she heard Bai Meiyue’s scream. She hurriedly ran out of the room and cried frantically, "Hurry! Hurry! Bai Meiyue is about to give birth. Hurry up! Bai Meiyue’s water has broken."

When Yan Wanning heard that Bai Meiyue’s water had broken, she dropped everything and called for her sons. She immediately rushed up the stairs and went looking for Bai Meiyue in a hurry. And she was not the only one; as soon as the people heard that Bai Meiyue was going into labour, almost everyone in the safe base rushed toward the mansion and surrounded it like an impenetrable fortress.

In the kindergarten, the children also heard that Bai Meiyue was going into labour, and without even thinking twice, they all ran out of the class, ignoring the cries of their teacher, who was about to teach them, and ran out of the classroom. They ran out of the classroom in a swarm, making the teachers chase after them when they saw that the children were running out of the classroom. He simply put down the book in his hands and then ran out after the children.

"Where are you going? Go back! I said, go back!"

Xiao Wu yelled angrily when he saw that the children ran out of the classroom. However, no one was willing to listen. The children ran as fast as possible. And they were not the only ones; even the underlings under Xiao Wu went to see what was going on.

"What are you doing!?" snapped Xiao Wu when he saw these men running. "Are you trying to make trouble? How will Boss come out if you all swarm around like this?"
