Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

Chapter 62 - 59: Uncle Isn’t a Good Person

Chapter 62: Chapter 59: Uncle Isn’t a Good Person

“What?”

“Leave now?”

“Hey, brother, there are zombies downstairs!”

The actions of Zhang Su and his group startled everyone present.

Qin Ya frowned deeply, stood up, and patted Zhang Su’s arm, saying, “Xiaozhang, Yu Nuo is outspoken, don’t take it personally with a woman, I still want to team up with you, why leave so suddenly.”

Zhang Su shook his head: “People can be understood for what they do when they’re starving. I already planned to leave; it’s got nothing to do with her!”

“From your equipment, it’s clear you’re not reckless, but are you certain this is a good time to leave?”

Qin Ya tried again to persuade Zhang Su and the others to stay.

Zhang Su had no intention from the start to act with everyone here. He didn’t doubt the combat skills of Qin Ya and PE teacher Duan Wuhu, but the two certainly wouldn’t abandon the people around them.

Everyone has companions they can’t forsake, Zhang Su understood their situation, but he didn’t want to team up with a cowardly and talkative woman, a brat, and a homebody.

“Yes.” Zhang Su affirmed with certainty: “The zombies chasing after Teacher Duan came from the underground parking lot, since the parking lot zombies were lured out, its situation must have improved a lot.”

“This…”

Everyone was stunned.

“Even so, but…” Duan Wuhu showed doubt and said: “Xiaohai and I did lure quite a few zombies from the underground parking lot, but that was from Building Three, this is Building Four!”

Zhang Su tightened the straps of his backpack across his chest and nodded: “You’re right, but I’m still going to risk it.”

Qin Ya frowned deeply, realizing Zhang Su wasn’t planning on leaving with them, but tried nonetheless: “Younger Brother Zhang, having more people means at least some support!”

“Brother Zhang, let’s go together, ten of us are a lot safer!”

Tian Fan couldn’t help but speak up.

“In times like this, we should consider teamwork and stop thinking about individual heroics!”

“Aunt Yu is right. Our teacher also talked about how individual heroics are undesirable, and collective honor is most important, Uncle Zhang, you should consider collective honor.”

Liu Xuanyu wholeheartedly agreed with Yu Nuo, speaking seriously.

The tense atmosphere suddenly became somewhat humorous thanks to the mischievous child.

Zhang Su was about to lose his temper, but after hearing Liu Xuanyu’s words, he chuckled.

“Little one, you’re right, but uncle and you aren’t part of the same group, okay.”

After saying this, he looked up at Yu Nuo, danger flashing in his eyes: “Yu Nuo, right? I know you don’t like me because of yesterday’s incident. I’m giving Officer Qin some face not to argue with you. I wish you all a happy and successful cooperation!”

Finished speaking, Zhang Su headed toward the door.

“Originally, our Building Four was fine, but you lured a bunch of zombies here and surrounded us, and now you say you’re leaving, it’s just, just inhuman!”

Yu Nuo was embarrassed and angry, being hit right at her weak spot by Zhang Su.

“Yu Nuo, stop talking!”

Qin Ya felt awkward hearing this, because it was the Duan Brothers who inadvertently drew the zombies here, not Zhang Su. Better not let Zhang Su’s group leave without bringing the Duan Brothers into the team.

“Now then… the zombies weren’t brought over by Brother Zhang; this is our fault.”

Duan Wuhu candidly admitted his mistake.

Zhang Su paused and glanced back at Duan Wuhu, then shifted his gaze to Yu Nuo, finally speaking to Qin Ya: “Officer Qin, don’t blame me for not warning you. A stupid teammate is scarier than a god-like opponent!”

“What do you mean, who’s the stupid…”

Yu Nuo immediately got angry but was held back by Qin Ya and pushed aside.

“Xiaozhang, I’m different from you, no matter what, I have to be true to my former duty, anyway, thank you, I wish you Good Fortune!”

Qin Ya knew he couldn’t persuade Zhang Su to stay, so he laughed freely and offered his sincere blessings.

“Thank you, same to you, and Teacher Duan, Good Fortune to you!”

Zhang Su had a good impression of Qin Ya, but knew it wasn’t possible to bring him into the team—having a SWAT officer would make it safer.

They both wanted to work together, but each had their own reasons.

“Brother Zhang, I…”

As Zhang Su was about to look through the peephole to check outside, the milk delivery man called him, saying, “I’m coming with you!”

The milk delivery man saw Zhang Su’s sharp gaze and subconsciously avoided eye contact but eventually mustered the courage to look at him.

Zhang Su was truly surprised that the milk delivery man, who’d had conflicts with him, actively requested to join his team.

“I still haven’t settled things with you for what happened before; come with me, uncle, aren’t you afraid that as soon as we step out, I’ll kill you?”

The milk delivery man awkwardly waved his hand: “Indeed, what I did before was a pain; anyone would be angry, but I can see you wouldn’t really kill me…”

Really not kill him?

Zhang Su pondered, of course not; there were so many people present, including armed SWAT officers. He was just venting his anger.

“Uncle, I don’t bring idle people with me; you should consider joining Officer Qin’s squad.”

With a woman, a child, and a not-so-old milk delivery uncle, they nearly formed the group of elderly, women, and children.

“No, no!” The milk delivery man’s dry hand waved repeatedly, forming an awkward smile, saying: “I can run really fast, and I’m pretty strong, see.”

While speaking, the milk delivery man glanced around, walked to the center of the living room, and with a shout, surprisingly lifted the coffee table.

Captain Liu’s coffee table wasn’t small, not made of solid wood, but looked solid and not light, weighing at least sixty or seventy pounds. Yet, the dry-skinned uncle managed to lift it onto his shoulder!
