Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person
Chapter 618 - 522: I Gave You a Chance—Don’t Blow It!
Is it settled?
Zhang Su heard this and wanted to laugh, unsure if these people were overly arrogant or simply foolish. Maybe they’ve grown used to plundering and no longer understand peaceful coexistence, constantly thinking of using others’ trust and conscience for invasion—a definite cancer!
He picked up the walkie-talkie, placed his finger on the talk button, thinking of pressing it but decided not to respond suddenly.
One doesn’t need to think to know what kind of person leads a bunch of little lunatics. Provoking him at this moment might lead to extreme actions. Better to let it be, respond with silence, and as for the thoughts, just leave it to him!
Zhang Su put the walkie-talkie back in his pocket, ignoring Ding Wei.
"Alright, alright, the man’s already dead, are you chopping meat?"
Beside him, Liu Yao cautiously tugged Tian Fan, snatching the military knife from his hand.
"Ahoo, ahoo... wuwuwu..."
After a frenzy of chopping, Tian Fan suddenly burst into tears, releasing all his grievances accumulated over days, ignoring the blood on the ground, collapsing on the floor.
"Revenge feels pretty good, doesn’t it? You did well."
Zhang Su patted Tian Fan’s shoulder. He genuinely found it hard to empathize from the other’s perspective, as the atmosphere on Celestial Horse Island was entirely different from Absolute Justice, and some things were unimaginable.
"Good, very good... Brother Zhang, am I strong? I eliminated the wicked, uh..."
Tian Fan felt the strength on his shoulder, gradually clearing his head, looking at the gruesome sight beside him—the anger clouded his mind earlier, but now it made him feel sick.
"Well done, you’ve got some guts! Come on, take a look at this, do you know what it is?"
Zhang Su praised him with a word, then presented a white Wax Pill for Tian Fan to see.
Tian Fan wiped his tears, leaned closer, furrowed his brows and asked, "Looks like the Rehmannia Pill I ate when I was little... is it?"
"This is a kind of medicine found on these so-called Avengers of Justice. Haven’t you seen it during your time at Absolute Justice?"
Zhang Su asked curiously.
Tian Fan awkwardly made a bizarre face: "Brother Zhang, I was unfortunate to end up like this. After they captured me, I just served as labor and couldn’t access such things."
"Alright then... oh! There are a few more of these guys over there, all yours, seize the chance, good luck!"
Zhang Su patted Tian Fan’s shoulder, ignoring his surprised expression, then looked at Liu Yao, saying: "Take him to clean up Absolute Justice’s scum, then interrogate those logistic members, see if there’s any news. I’m off now."
"Mr. Zhang, wouldn’t that be going overboard?"
Leaving the restroom door, Yuwen softly asked. To him, Tian Fan’s actions have already shown his stance. Continuing to let him execute the Avengers of Justice might cause negative impact.
Zhang Su shook his head: "A bent stick, if you just press it straight and then release, it’ll bend again. You must bend it forcefully in the opposite direction to restore it straight. Same goes for people. If he gets through this, he’ll have the chance to stay with us. Otherwise, he’ll remain here as a worker. Let’s see what he chooses."
Everyone silently nodded; having the chance given by King Yama is rare. Let’s see if Tian Fan grabs it.
Silence was interrupted by Ding Wei’s voice again: "Zhang Xin, or Liao Youzhi, looks like my brothers failed. Fine, you’ve successfully angered me. Since you’re merciless, don’t blame me for being unrighteous. Tonight is your death night!"
Walking beside Zhang Su, Yuwen naturally heard Ding Wei’s words too. He looked at Zhang Su solemnly: "Mr. Zhang, should we negotiate to avoid him taking extreme actions?"
"He’s preparing to lead zombies toward us, what could possibly be more extreme... He’s barefoot now, while we’re shod. No point negotiating with this madman; once he arrives, we kill him, end the problem once and for all."
Some conflicts are destined to remain unresolved, certain mistakes destined to remain unrepaired.
On the dark street, accident cars lie askew, some dilapidated, others overturned. An imported 525i travels confidently amidst, followed by a dark swarm.
In the driver’s seat, Ding Wei removed his cap, his shiny bald head standing out, a centipede-like scar crawling across, incredibly ferocious.
His face was terrifyingly gloomy, eyes flashing with anger and coldness, but madness was absent.
"Damn it, that dog lied to me, what’s the deal with Lego Mall! I’ll kill you, kill you..."
Thinking of his vanished underlings, Ding Wei felt stifled; that was his last bet, entirely placed on Survivor Alliance, but now he lost it all!
"Alright, if you don’t respond to me, whether you betrayed, died, or Zhang Xin, Liao Youzhi played tricks, I’ll make you all die. Everyone dies! All die, the entire Lego Mall will be mine, hahaha!"
Glancing at the rearview mirror, quickly refocusing on the front road, hundreds of enraged zombies followed, alongside several monstrous creatures; if the car faced any accident, the outcome would be doom.
But if this "gift" reached Lego Mall, just imagining that made Ding Wei excited, a twisted smile surfaced amidst his angry face.
Yet, the smile didn’t last long before freezing on his face...
"I shouldn’t go, Lego Mall is dangerous, I can’t go..."
Ding Wei just broke out in clammy sweat; usually, with his insensitive nerves, this wouldn’t happen—so inexplicable, so unpredicted.
This sudden physiological reaction instantly alerted Ding Wei.
This strange sensation saved him twice post-apocalypse. The first time, he deemed it coincidence, attributing it to luck; the second time made him realize it’s perhaps a talent for avoiding danger, so at the third sweat, he instantly calmed.
"Things are too odd, maybe Survivor Alliance isn’t afraid of zombies at all, even if I led ten thousand there it’d be serving them on a platter, and I’d end up involved..."
"No, I can’t, I have no room for trial and error left. Keep the green hills, fear not for lack of firewood. Let those traitors betray, they deserved to die if they did, leave, yes, I can leave, I’ve got a backup plan, I can make a clean getaway! Hahaha, hahaha..."
Thinking this, Ding Wei seemed to have an epiphany, gripping the steering wheel laughing wildly!
"Who said just because I’m leading zombies I have to take them there, hahaha, damn fools, grandpa’s not playing with you anymore!"
Slapping the steering wheel inside the car, then lowering the window to toss the walkie-talkie elsewhere, slowing the car speed, he took out a phone to set something, and threw it into an abandoned car beside.
"Following gray traces, only abyssal water reflections..."
Loud singing echoed through the night sky, immediately drawing zombies’ attention, those running ahead rushed madly toward the singing car.
525i’s taillights gradually moved in the opposite direction of Lego Mall, as if resolved, not looking back!
