Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding
Chapter 66 Space supervision.
Chapter 66: Chapter 66 Space supervision.
Back on the island, right inside the sitting room, Luna was comfortably walking through her space after being taken there by a simple thought. Her body had materialized in the middle of the spacious and abundant supermarket space, surrounded by rows upon rows of supplies.
She looked around with satisfaction.
The shelves were packed.
Medicine occupied several entire sections, while frozen foods, meats, milk, dairy products, canned goods, snacks, bottled water, and countless other necessities had been dumped into the supermarket during their last raid on the bunker.
The shelves had been filled so well that Luna couldn’t help feeling pleased with herself.
There were still some vacant spots, of course, and a few shelves hadn’t been touched at all, but compared to how empty the place had once looked, the difference was enormous.
At least they wouldn’t have to worry about food anytime soon.
Luna ran her eyes over everything before turning toward the other aisles.
Those were the more exclusive sections.
Higher-powered generators.
Electrical panels.
Solar panels.
Water purification machines.
Industrial equipment.
Farming machines.
Different types of survival equipment that would become extremely useful as the apocalypse continued to worsen.
And then there was the ammunition.
Luna’s eyes narrowed slightly when she reached that section.
There was a ridiculous amount of ammunition stored behind thick glass walls. Each section had its own price displayed clearly, with the required number of Apocalypse Coins pasted directly onto the glass.
These weren’t ordinary supplies.
They were exclusive items.
The kind of equipment that required her to work her ass off before she could even think about unlocking them.
Luna had already spent a considerable amount of time completing missions and earning Apocalypse Coins, so seeing the stocked-up section gave her a strange sense of accomplishment.
She walked farther until she reached the highest section of the supermarket.
That was where her accumulated Apocalypse Coins were displayed.
A blue panel floated at the edge of the supermarket like a giant digital timer, displaying the total amount she had managed to accumulate.
800,000,000+ Apocalypse Coins.
Luna stared at the number for several seconds.
Her throat moved as she swallowed in satisfaction.
Eight hundred million.
That amount could save her life in one situation and then disappear almost immediately in another.
With the way the apocalypse was developing, she couldn’t even consider herself truly rich.
There were still too many things she needed.
Too many powerful items she hadn’t unlocked.
Too many threats she hadn’t encountered.
Still, it was a number she could be proud of.
Luna turned around and began walking back.
She needed to rest.
At least for today.
She had originally considered raiding another place, perhaps the elite safe zone, before everyone moved toward that new planet.
The thought alone made her hesitate.
The elite safe zone was filled with resources.
If they were really planning to abandon Earth, then there was a chance that their warehouses and storage facilities would eventually be left behind.
It would be the perfect opportunity to take whatever they couldn’t carry.
But going back there still left Luna feeling uneasy.
That place had already traumatized her enough.
She wasn’t going back.
"Nope."
Luna shook her head firmly.
"Going back to where we just escaped from because we’re trying to find some goods is stupid. It’s basically walking into a trap."
She had barely finished speaking when the system suddenly dinged inside her head.
[Ding! Supplies detected.]
Luna stopped walking.
[A large quantity of supplies has been detected inside a store located in the middle of the ruined city.]
[The store was previously the main trading center for humans before the apocalypse.]
[The store has remained untouched since the city’s destruction.]
[Estimated value of remaining goods: Billions.]
[Warning: A large portion of the supplies may become unusable within one week.]
Luna’s eyes blinked.
The ruined city?
She immediately started thinking about it.
If there really were billions worth of goods sitting inside a store, allowing everything to spoil would be a waste.
But she wasn’t going today.
Definitely not today.
Perhaps tomorrow.
No.
The day after tomorrow would be better.
That gave her enough time to prepare.
First, she needed to survey the ground around the ruined city. She had to make sure there wasn’t some unexpected threat waiting there.
The last thing she wanted was to walk into another disaster because she had become too greedy over supplies.
Then there was the matter of her men.
Their powers needed to increase.
She wanted all of them to reach the SSS class.
At all costs.
If they were going into that ruined city, she needed them strong enough to protect themselves and each other.
Two days.
She would have to make it happen within two days.
As for whatever evacuation plan the government was blabbing about, Luna wasn’t interested.
They weren’t going to see her.
She had already decided that she wasn’t abandoning everything she had built just because the government had suddenly decided that leaving Earth was their solution.
If they wanted to run to another planet, then fine.
Let them.
Maybe they would find a solution there.
Maybe they wouldn’t.
That was their business.
Luna finished her thoughts and prepared to leave her space.
The moment she did, her body materialized back inside the sitting room.
She appeared directly beside Adrain.
He seemed to have freshened up, but Luna had no idea what exactly he had been doing.
Adrain didn’t even realize she was there.
He was standing with his back toward her, tying something white around his stomach.
Luna’s eyes casually moved toward him.
Then they stopped.
Something reddish had stained the white cloth.
Blood.
"What in the world?"
Adrain nearly jumped out of his skin.
He spun around and stared at her in terror.
"Luna..."
He stammered while quickly trying to pull his clothes down and hide the wound.
Apparently, he had been the only one in the sitting room when he returned. The others had rushed into the kitchen, seemingly trying to prepare something to eat, and Adrain had apparently decided that whatever disaster was happening in there wasn’t his problem.
Luna didn’t give him time to hide anything.
She grabbed his hands and pulled them away.
The cloth moved.
The wound became completely visible.
And Luna’s expression immediately changed.
Now she understood.
This was why Adrain had been feeling sick all this time.
The injury around his stomach was far worse than she had expected.
"Why didn’t you tell me?"
Her voice was low.
Adrain stared at her.
"You know you could get infected and die, right?" Luna continued, her anger rising. "Do you actually want to get yourself killed?"
Adrain looked stunned.
He hadn’t expected her reaction at all.
To him, it had simply been an injury.
Something he could endure.
"I didn’t want to burden you," he finally explained. "So I let it go. I never thought it was this deep until I felt that disturbance when you were driving. Then, when I was bathing, I saw it had gotten like this."
Luna stared at the wound.
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
"That doesn’t look like it’s not deep."
She clicked her tongue.
"Are you out of your damn mind?"
Adrain remained silent.
"You aren’t dying in my hands," Luna said firmly. "No way, Adrain. So take care of yourself, or I will get mad at you."
She pointed toward the seat.
"Come here."
Adrain obediently moved closer and sat down.
Luna crouched in front of him, inspecting the wound properly.
The distance between them was almost nonexistent.
She placed her hands around his upper body, moving carefully across his chest and toward his stomach to examine the injury.
Adrain suddenly flinched.
He had been fine a moment ago, but the instant her fingers came close to the wounded area, pain shot through him.
"Does it hurt?"
"A little."
"A little?"
Luna gave him an unimpressed look.
Adrain immediately went quiet.
"I’ll get some water to clean it."
She stood up and pulled away the shirt he had been using to hide the injury.
"Take off the rest of the clothes around the wound. Let your chest show. I don’t want anything blocking the area."
Adrain stared at her.
Luna had already turned around.
She didn’t even notice how awkward the instruction sounded.
She simply walked toward the kitchen to get a bowl and some hot water.
Yet as she walked, her expression slowly became complicated.
She couldn’t believe she was doing this.
None of this had been part of her original plan.
Everything had changed because of that strange glitch in time.
She had originally intended to survive alone.
She had prepared herself to be ruthless.
Cold.
Untouchable.
A bad bitch who wouldn’t care about anyone else as long as she survived.
But somehow, after bringing these people into her life, everything had started becoming complicated.
She talked to them.
She worried about them.
She even cared when they got hurt.
Rowan had already gotten under her skin.
Adrain was slowly doing the same.
And now Kai had joined the list.
Luna didn’t like it.
She especially didn’t like the feeling that had attacked her heart when Adrain and Kai had nearly fallen into that ditch earlier.
For those few seconds, she had been genuinely terrified that something would happen to them.
Her heart had almost stopped.
"Archhhhh!"
Luna mentally screamed.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
This wasn’t her new nature.
She had prepared herself to become tough after everything she had experienced.
But apparently, the universe had other plans.
She could survive an apocalypse.
She could fight zombies.
She could raid dangerous places.
She could watch entire cities collapse without blinking.
But apparently, watching people she cared about get hurt was enough to make her lose her damn mind.
"Ridiculous."
Luna muttered under her breath as she entered the kitchen.
The moment she stepped inside, a strange smell hit her nose.
She frowned.
"What is that?"
The aroma was...
Questionable.
Very questionable.
She looked around.
Ethan, Kai, and Miles were standing around several pots.
There were different portions of food spread across the kitchen, and from the way they were looking at each other’s dishes, Luna immediately understood what was happening.
They were competing.
Apparently, three grown men had decided that cooking was now a battlefield.
"I see you all are still struggling to cook."
The three men immediately looked at her.
Ethan raised his head first.
"Oh, you’re here. Why didn’t you taste my handiwork?"
Luna stared at him.
Then she stared at the pots.
Then back at him.
There were three separate portions.
One from Ethan.
One from Kai.
And one from Miles.
They had apparently decided to compete over who could prepare the best meal.
Luna took one look at the food and immediately decided that she valued her life too much.
"Thanks, but whatever you prepared, know that you’re not wasting it."
She pointed toward the pots.
"You are all eating whatever dung that is."
Kai’s mouth dropped open.
"What?"
Luna ignored him.
The appearance alone wasn’t appetizing.
The aroma was questionable enough to make her stomach turn, and the thought of actually putting a spoonful into her mouth was completely out of the question.
"Nope."
She shook her head.
"Enjoy your meal. I think I’ve already gotten fed enough with my snacks."
Luna picked up the bowl and cloth she had come for.
She was about to leave when she suddenly remembered Ethan.
Her steps slowed.
Ethan was a healer.
He hadn’t displayed the ability properly yet, but Luna knew what he was capable of.
If anyone could help Adrain recover quickly, it would be him.
She glanced back at him.
"Actually, Ethan."
"Hmm?"
Luna looked at him for a moment before saying,
"I might need your help later."
Ethan’s expression immediately became curious.
But Luna didn’t explain.
She simply turned around and walked away.
Behind her, Kai shouted,
"You’ll come back! I guarantee you’ll want at least one taste!"
Luna rolled her eyes.
"Keep dreaming."
She walked out of the kitchen without looking back.
