Chapter 137: Chapter 137 Sea giant battle

As the ice continued spreading across the sea, Luna and the others realized they were in danger of being frozen along with everything around them. The entire surface was turning white. Ice crawled across the waves, covering everything in its path.

Adrian immediately realized that Kai’s attack could become just as dangerous to them as the monsters. He stepped forward. "I’ll interfere."

His hands began moving as he prepared to open a portal. But the sea monster seemed to notice what he was doing. One of its enormous tentacles suddenly shot toward the gigantic snake. The tentacle wrapped around the snake’s body and slammed into it with such force that the massive creature was nearly crushed. The snake hissed violently.

Its enormous jaws loosened.

That was enough.

Rowan, Ethan, and Luna suddenly fell free. They dropped into the water, struggling to breathe as the cold sea swallowed them.

Luna gasped. Ethan coughed violently. Rowan immediately tried to swim toward them.

But before any of them could properly recover, the battle between the two monsters became even more violent. The gigantic snake thrashed around in rage, trying to attack the sea monster. But the sea monster reacted faster. Another tentacle shot forward and wrapped around the snake’s neck. It tightened. Hard.

The snake’s body twisted as it hissed in pain. Its armored scales scraped against the ice while it desperately tried to break free.

Kai watched from the amphibious vehicle. His expression became tense. "Come on..."

The ice he had created was supposed to slow the monster down. Instead, the sea creature began breaking through it. Chunks of ice exploded into the air. One of the shards was launched away at incredible speed.

Luna didn’t see it coming. Neither did anyone else.

The sharp piece of ice spun through the air. Then—THUD!

It slammed directly into Luna’s chest. "AAAAAAHHHH!"

Her scream echoed across the sea. Luna’s body jerked backward. The ice shard had pierced straight through her chest, leaving a gaping wound. Blood immediately spread across her clothes.

Rowan’s eyes bulged. "Luna!"

He was already injured in one hand, making it difficult for him to swim. But the moment he saw Luna wounded, he forgot about his own pain. He pushed through the water as fast as he could. "Luna!" He reached toward her. "I’m coming! Wait for me!"

Ethan struggled to follow. "I’ll heal her!" He kicked through the water. "I’m right beside you!"

The battle around them continued. The snake’s massive body suddenly came tumbling toward their direction. It was about to crash directly into them.

"Kai!"

Kai’s eyes widened. He immediately raised his voice. "You ugly head!" The monster turned. "Look at me!" Kai’s eyes glowed. "Pick on someone your own size!"

It was probably the stupidest thing he could have done. But it worked. The sea monster shifted its attention toward him. Kai grinned nervously. "Yeah..." He swallowed. "That’s right. Look at me."

The creature abandoned the snake for a moment. But it didn’t simply leave it alone. One of its tentacles slammed into the snake’s torso. The snake released a shrill hiss. Then the sea monster opened its enormous mouth. It grabbed part of the snake and began swallowing it piece by piece.

Kai’s expression dropped. "Oh shit."

The creature stared directly at him. Its enormous eyes seemed to say one thing.

You are next.

Kai’s smile disappeared.

Meanwhile, Luna was losing too much blood. Rowan noticed immediately. The snake’s body was slowly disappearing inside the sea monster’s mouth, giving him a clearer view of the water around them. He rushed toward Luna. "I’m here." He grabbed her. "I’m here, Luna." He pulled her closer.

But the sea monster wasn’t finished with them. Its enormous body shifted. Its limbs slammed into the water. It was about to crush all of them.

"Move!"

Kai raised both hands. The sea suddenly rose. Water exploded upward. Ice followed. A combination of water and ice wrapped around the creature’s massive feet. The monster was lifted. For a moment, it hung above the water. Its enormous body struggled against the ice. Then it began falling.

Kai gritted his teeth. "Now!"

A huge wave suddenly rushed toward Luna, Rowan, and Ethan. It carried them away from the falling creature. They were thrown across the water.

Rowan grabbed Luna before she could disappear beneath the waves. He pulled her into his arms. Her body was trembling violently. The ice shard was still embedded in her chest. She could barely move.

Rowan held her in a bridal carry. "It’s okay." His voice was low. "It’s Rowan."

Luna’s eyes fluttered. She looked confused.

"It’s me." Rowan tightened his hold. "I’m here."

Luna tried to breathe. Her chest burned. Her vision blurred. "I’m..." She swallowed. "My chest." Rowan’s face tightened. "It hurts so much." Luna struggled to breathe. "I can’t breathe properly."

Rowan’s expression became even more worried. He knew the wound was serious. Very serious. But there was no time to panic. He began swimming toward the amphibious vehicle. "We’re going back." He held Luna tighter. "I’ll get you to safety." His voice became more determined. "I’ll get all of us to safety." He turned toward Ethan. "Come on!"

Ethan followed as best as he could.

But before they could get close to the vehicle—something moved beneath them.

Rowan froze.

Tentacles. Again.

One wrapped around his body. Another caught his leg. "Shit!"

The tentacle tightened. Rowan was dragged backward. Luna screamed.

The creature slammed them into the water. Rowan tried to protect Luna with his body as they were dragged toward the enormous mouth.

Ethan immediately pulled out a gun from his uniform. He aimed. "Let go of them!"

BANG! BANG! BANG!

A storm of bullets rained down on the creature. The bullets struck its body. But they simply bounced away. They fell into the water like useless beads. The monster barely reacted.

Ethan’s expression turned pale. "That didn’t work."

Kai clenched his fists. He was becoming frustrated. The creature wasn’t slowing down. It was determined to kill them. And if they stayed in the water any longer, they were finished.

"Adrian!" Kai turned toward him. "Go now!" Adrian looked over. "Use your portal!" Kai pointed toward the others. "Follow them!"

Adrian hesitated.

Kai continued. "Try to carry them off with the portal." He looked toward the monster. "I know you can do it."

Adrian stared at him.

"The monster can’t be killed easily right now." Kai’s expression became serious. "And staying at sea level is deadly." He looked around. "Those dungeons are everywhere. Another abomination could rise at any moment and take its place." He pointed toward the battle. "Leaving is the only good idea I can think of that won’t backfire immediately."

Adrian understood. He immediately began moving his hands. Light started forming between his palms. At first, it was only a small glow. Then it expanded. The light grew brighter and wider. A portal was beginning to take shape.

Adrian looked toward the battle. His heart raced. Ethan was already exhausted. Rowan was barely holding himself together. Luna was bleeding heavily.

The monster was becoming more aggressive. It was like the creature had finally become bored with playing with its prey. And when a predator became tired of playing... it ate.

Rowan suddenly grimaced. A sharp claw tore through his shoulder. The attack continued downward, running toward his chest. Rowan grunted. He tightened his arms around Luna. He refused to let go of her. He twisted his body, shielding her from the worst of the attack.

"Don’t..." His voice was strained. "Don’t touch her."

The creature’s claw dug deeper. Blood flowed down Rowan’s body.

Nearby, Ethan was trapped. The monster’s enormous teeth had clamped around him. They weren’t completely crushing him yet. It was as if the creature was holding him there, waiting for the right moment to close its jaws. Ethan struggled. His energy was fading. He couldn’t keep fighting forever.

Rowan’s own strength was disappearing. His vision became blurry. His breathing became heavier. He could feel his energy draining away. Luna was still bleeding in his arms. The creature was getting ready to finish them.

Then something inside Rowan changed.

His breathing stopped. His body went completely still. His eyes slowly changed. The color shifted. From their normal shade... to gold. Bright golden eyes stared through the darkness.

His hands changed next. His fingers tightened. His hands became covered in crimson-red energy.

Rowan lifted his head. He stared directly at the sea monster. Their eyes met. For a brief moment, everything stopped.

The monster looked into Rowan’s eyes. Then... it looked away.

Rowan’s golden eyes burned brighter.

Adrian was almost finished creating the portal. "Just a little more..."

The entire sea suddenly trembled. Adrian looked up. "What the—"

Rowan’s expression became cold. His golden eyes flashed. Then he spoke.

"Kill yourself now."

The command echoed across the water.

The creature froze. Its body suddenly began moving against its own will. Its claw lifted. It moved toward its own face. The creature roared. It tried to resist. But its body no longer belonged to it.

The claw moved toward its eye. Then its shoulder. Then its neck. Then its stomach. The monster thrashed violently. But Rowan’s command continued controlling it. Finally, the claw moved toward the largest part of its body. Its chest. The claw plunged deep.

The creature released a deafening roar. "RRAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Its massive body convulsed. The claw dug deeper. Important organs were torn apart. Blood exploded into the water. The monster’s roar became weaker.

Everything happened so quickly that nobody had time to process it. Rowan simply stared. His golden eyes remained fixed on the creature.

The monster finally collapsed. Its enormous body crashed into the sea. BOOM!

The impact created a gigantic wave.

Adrian’s portal flickered. Kai lost his balance. Ethan was thrown sideways. Luna slipped from Rowan’s arms.

"Grab her!"

Rowan reached for her. But the wave was already coming. It rose higher. Higher. Higher. Then—CRAAAAASH!

The wave swallowed everything. The amphibious vehicle disappeared. The portal vanished. Rowan, Luna, Ethan, Kai, and Adrian were all swept away. They were dragged in completely different directions by the enormous force of the water.

Rowan tried to reach Luna. "Luna!" His hand stretched toward her. But she was already disappearing into the darkness. "LUNA!"

The sea swallowed his voice.

And within seconds... all five of them were gone. Swept away into an unknown part of the endless ocean.
