Apocalypse Supermarket: My Four Overpowered Husbands Wontstop Hoarding
Chapter 1 Stupid heiress
Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Stupid heiress
In a huge, well-maintained hospital, a sickly figure could be seen fighting for her life on a hospital bed. Half-conscious and struggling to breathe, Martha Hart coughed violently, her frail body trembling with every fit. Gathered around her were numerous relatives, all waiting impatiently for the reading of her will.
"Shameless people..." Martha gagged, coughing up what looked like slimy blood.
"At least let me die first before showing interest in my wealth."
Her voice was weak, yet every word struck like a slap. She didn’t care about the fragile topic she had touched upon. How she loathed every single one of them standing there.
The only person she truly cared for was Luna Hart.
The one she intended to leave everything to.
As for the rest? To hell with them.
James Hart and his wife, Madison Hart, exchanged glances before looking toward their son, Thomas Hart. The huge young man stood proudly among the crowd.
They had thought this was finally it.
The day they would inherit Martha’s fortune and become billionaires overnight.
"Remove that smirk from your face. At least let me die before you start planning how to spend my money."
Her sharp words immediately wiped the expression from Thomas’s face.
Among the gathered relatives stood a young girl with dark eyes filled with malice.
Ava Hart.
Luna’s younger sister.
Ava couldn’t wait for the old woman to die. At least then the family could finally enjoy the wealth she had guarded so jealously all these years.
No one had ever been allowed to touch her money.
And that irritated every one of them.
"I’m sorry it had to turn out this way, Granny. Please don’t leave me."
Unlike the others, Luna’s tears were genuine.
Her eyes carried deep worry and sadness.
Standing behind her was her fiancé, the man she loved with all her heart.
"Please don’t cry, Luna."
Simon Donovan, a handsome blond-haired man with striking blue eyes, gently comforted her.
Luna sniffled and nodded.
Martha slowly reached out with trembling hands and grabbed Luna’s.
The affection she showed Luna was something she had never given to anyone else.
Watching the interaction, James felt a burning rage rise inside his chest.
For some reason, he wasn’t happy.
"Dad, I want that property. It should belong to me."
Thomas spoke through clenched teeth.
James smirked.
"Forget your foolish sister. I know exactly what my mother plans to do. Soon we’ll have our way. It’s only a matter of time."
Then, right before their eyes, Martha officially left her entire inheritance to Luna.
The expressions around the room darkened instantly.
Luna herself was stunned.
She had never expected to inherit such a massive fortune.
A grand estate.
Several companies.
Investments worth millions.
Everything.
Then Martha pulled her closer.
"Don’t trust them. I’m warning you."
The old woman’s voice was barely above a whisper.
"If you officially become the head of the household like I want, throw them all out."
Then she handed Luna a beautiful diamond necklace.
"And this is for you."
Tears immediately flooded Luna’s eyes.
Simon gently rubbed her back like the caring fiancé he appeared to be.
Moments later, Martha’s breathing slowed.
Then stopped completely.
A peaceful expression settled on her face.
She was gone. The room fell silent.
No one cried.
Not James.
Not Madison.
Not Thomas.
Not Ava.
Only Luna sobbed uncontrollably as she hugged her grandmother’s body tightly.
Reality finally struck her.
The only person who had ever truly loved her was dead.
Her guardian.
Her protector.
Gone forever.
"Don’t cry anymore, love. I’m here for you."
Simon gently wiped her tears.
"Why don’t we do what we’ve always wanted? Let’s get married."
Luna wasn’t thinking clearly.
She was drowning in grief.
Without hesitation, she agreed.
Anything to distract herself from the pain.
Martha was buried several days later.
Surprisingly, Luna was the only family member who attended the funeral.
No one else bothered to come.
But she didn’t care.
Standing before the grave, her black dress fluttered in the wind. Her thick raven hair rested across her shoulders while tears slid down her beautiful face.
Her emerald eyes remained fixed on the gravestone.
Eventually, she left.
Today was her wedding day.
The makeup artists had spent hours preparing her.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she couldn’t help smiling.
Simon had been supportive throughout everything.
At least that was what she believed.
Aside from him, everyone in the family treated her like she carried some infectious disease.
Still, she didn’t care.
She had Simon.
That was enough.
Sighing softly, she smiled at her reflection.
"Granny, you’re going to be so proud of me."
A knock suddenly sounded on her bedroom door.
When she opened it, she froze.
Ava stood outside.
The same sister who rarely spoke to her despite living in the same house.
"I wanted to wish you a happy married life."
Luna stared at her in complete shock.
"You... wished me happiness?"
For a moment, she couldn’t even find the right words.
Ava nodded.
Luna’s eyes instantly became emotional.
"Oh, Ava. You don’t know how much I’ve wanted this."
She rushed forward and hugged her sister tightly.
Then kissed her cheek.
"I love you so much, Sister."
Ava smiled.
A smile Luna would later regret trusting.
Rushing back into the room, Luna grabbed a small box.
Inside rested Martha’s diamond necklace.
The precious heirloom.
The final gift from her grandmother.
Yet without hesitation, she handed it over.
"Take this. It’s a token of my love."
Ava’s eyes flashed briefly before she accepted it.
The sisters hugged once more.
The wedding itself was magnificent.
Simon had insisted on making it grand and luxurious.
Madly in love and unable to refuse him, Luna spent an absurd amount of money making his dream wedding come true.
By the end of the day, they officially became husband and wife.
The happiest day of her life.
Or so she thought.
That night, Luna and Simon were escorted to their new room.
Her cheeks were slightly red from nervous excitement.
At some point, Martha’s warning had completely vanished from her mind.
All she wanted was to spend the rest of her life with the man she loved.
Unfortunately, reality was about to shatter everything.
Just as they entered the room, Simon’s expression turned cold.
Without warning, he tossed a document onto her lap.
"Sign this."
The warmth in his voice had vanished.
Luna blinked.
Confused.
This wasn’t the Simon she knew.
Still, trusting him completely, she didn’t bother reading the document.
Instead, she signed it immediately.
Then smiled.
"There. Are you happy now? I told you I’d do anything for you."
A grin spread across Simon’s face.
A cruel grin.
One she had never seen before.
"Get on the bed, whore."
The words struck her like lightning.
Luna froze.
Whore?
Surely she had heard wrong.
She had to be imagining things.
Before she could react, the television suddenly turned on.
A news broadcast interrupted the silence.
"Emergency report from the capital. Ocean levels are rising at an alarming rate. Multiple volcanoes are becoming active while earthquake activity has reached dangerous levels. Citizens are advised to seek shelter immediately with their families and loved ones while the government works on emergency measures."
Then the screen abruptly went black.
The lights flickered and died.
Darkness swallowed the room.
Simon rolled his eyes.
"What nonsense. Earthquakes? Have you seen one? News reporters will say anything for ratings."
Like always, Luna immediately agreed.
She trusted his every word.
A foolish habit she would soon regret.
Then Simon walked toward the door.
Opening it.
Allowing another person inside.
Ava.
Right before Luna’s eyes, Simon pulled Ava into his arms and kissed her passionately.
Luna’s jaw dropped.
"Simon! Ava! What is this?!"
SLAP!
A powerful slap landed across her face.
She stumbled backward and crashed into the wall.
"Oh, dummy."
Ava laughed darkly.
"Did you really think anyone could love an empty-headed fool like you?"
Simon wrapped an arm around Ava.
"She’s my real wife."
The world stopped.
"We’ve been together all along. You were only useful for your money."
Luna stared blankly.
The handsome prince she had fallen in love with no longer existed.
Only a stranger remained.
Cold.
Cruel.
Heartless.
"If you try anything, I’ll throw both of you out!"
Ava laughed even harder.
"You mean this property?"
She tossed the document toward Luna.
Her blood ran cold.
Property Transfer Agreement.
Everything she owned had already been transferred to Simon Donovan and Ava Donovan.
"No..."
The truth finally crashed into her.
She had been manipulated.
Used.
Tricked.
Every single step of the way.
"No! Simon, you can’t do this! I love you!"
She broke down completely.
But neither of them cared.
Then suddenly the house began shaking.
Violently.
The walls trembled.
The ground rumbled.
Outside, people screamed.
James looked terrified.
"What’s happening?!"
Simon calmly smiled.
"Nothing. We just survive."
And somehow they did.
Using the mysterious power hidden inside Martha’s necklace.
The necklace contained an unlimited supermarket space filled with endless supplies and a hidden settlement where they could safely live.
Everyone was allowed inside.
Except Luna.
As disasters worsened, volcanoes erupted.
Earthquakes destroyed cities.
Tsunamis swallowed entire coastlines.
Then came the virus.
A horrifying disease that transformed humans into flesh-eating monsters.
The world descended into chaos.
Eventually Ava grew tired of keeping Luna around.
"She’s useless anyway."
Those simple words sealed Luna’s fate.
Despite everything she had done for them, they dragged her outside.
The sky burned red.
Zombies roamed everywhere.
Buildings lay in ruins.
Volcanic ash filled the air.
Luna begged.
She cried.
She pleaded for mercy.
No one listened.
Ava merely smiled.
A dark, twisted smile.
"Greet Grandma for me."
Then she laughed.
"And tell her I said screw her."
With one final shove, Luna was thrown directly into a massive horde of starving zombies.
She screamed.
The monsters immediately pounced.
Sharp teeth tore through flesh.
Blood sprayed everywhere.
Agony consumed her.
As she was ripped apart alive, Luna finally understood.
Her grandmother had been right all along.
She had trusted the wrong people.
And now she was paying the ultimate price.
