April’s lips curved into a quiet, victorious smirk as Nat pushed himself off the car door, muttering curses under his breath while signaling his tactical operatives to prep the vehicles for Pier 9.

The leather interior fell back into a peaceful quiet as the luxury sedan smoothly glided away from the blood-stained, sealed venue, heading back toward the familiar gates of Xavier’s estate.

Emily leaned her head gently against April’s shoulder, her fingers loosely interwoven with her sister’s. "Where are we going now, April?"

"Back home, of course." April replied softly, her dark eyes reflecting the passing streetlights.

There was no need to rush off anywhere new tonight. They had only two days before the cooking competition officially started, but even two days was a lot to just lounge around and relax.

As the quiet hum of the engine filled the car, April mentally listed everything they could finally do now that the bugs had been squashed and rounded up to rot in one cell.

They could sleep in, play video games, watch movies late into the night, and do some extensive online shopping. She had noticed Emily loved browsing cute clothes, home decor, and random trinkets on her phone, but she had never actually spoken up about buying any of them, as if admiring them was more than enough. But it was not enough for April. She was going to let Emily order whatever her heart desired.

So, for tomorrow, at least, they were simply going to relax and enjoy the peace they had bled to earn.

The next morning, sunlight streamed softly through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the estate’s main living area.

April sat comfortably on the couch, wearing an oversized silk lounge set, casually munching on a bowl of crispy potato chips. Across the screen of the massive smart TV, news anchors were practically hyperventilating over the sudden, catastrophic downfall of two major elite dynasties.

"In a shocking overnight turn of events, both the Morgan Group and the Le Moreno Family Trust have officially entered complete bankruptcy following a massive liquid asset freeze..."

"Reports indicate dark money trails, severe labor violations, and systematic fraud..."

"Curiously, top figures including Steven Morgan, Madam Morgan, Sir Le Moreno, and Selma Le Moreno have completely vanished from the public eye..." 1

April took a light sip of her juice, utterly unbothered.

There was no news about the chaos or the violence she had displayed the previous night at the event. It seems Nat and Xavier worked really hard. They were exceptional as always.

The mentioned names in the news did not vanish. In fact, they were currently rotting in the cold, subterranean holding cells, that had zero light.

They were packed right alongside Johan and the rest of the Gabriel family: Clara, Eleanor, and Victor. The entire toxic collection of their past abusers was now gathered under one roof, left to roast in fear and darkness until April and Emily were ready to pass their final, absolute judgment.

For now, let them suffer.

As April ate another chip, the air in front of her shimmered with a soft, translucent blue light.

[QUEST UPDATE: REVENGE]

[Objective:Eliminate the following families before the apocalypse begins.]

— The Gabriel Family: [COMPLETED]

— The Le Moreno Family: [COMPLETED]

— The Morgan Family: [COMPLETED]

[STATUS: QUEST CLEAR! ALL TARGETS NEUTRALIZED.]

[Calculating Quest Completion Rewards...]

April’s dark eyes scanned the floating text. A reward, huh? Well, she certainly wouldn’t refuse anything the system was giving her since it would be useful, but... A small, thoughtful frown touched her brow as her mind flicked back to a specific caveat of the mission.

In your quest to exact revenge on the Morgans, Liora Morgan must not be harmed.

April set her bowl of chips aside. She hadn’t seen Liora’s familiar blonde head anywhere in the ballroom during the entire chaotic sequence last night. Liora had clearly slipped away early, smart enough to run the moment she sensed danger.

What will happen to Liora now? April mused silently.

She didn’t mind Liora escaping the crossfire. It actually worked out better this way—April didn’t have to go out of her way to exclude her during the ballroom massacre or make it look like she was giving Liora special treatment in front of the others.

As the system interface began to process her final reward, the quiet rustle of soft slippers echoed from the hallway as Emily walked in, fresh-faced and smiling.

"Morning," Emily greeted, her sweet voice laced with a newfound lightness as she walked over and sat beside April on the plush velvet couch.

She glanced at the TV screen displaying the breaking news reports, but her smile didn’t flicker for a second. The nightmare was finally behind her.

"Morning," April replied smoothly, passing the bowl of chips to her sister. "Sleep well?"

"Better than I have in years," Emily admitted, taking a single chip. She leaned back against the cushions, looking completely at ease. "It feels surreal, April. Knowing they’re all gone, that we don’t have to look over our shoulders anymore..."

"They aren’t just gone," April murmured, a dark glint flickering in her eyes before she softened her tone. "They’re exactly where they belong. But today isn’t about them. Hand over your phone."

Emily blinked, momentarily confused, but retrieved her phone from her cardigan pocket and passed it over. April took it, tapped the screen a few times, and handed it right back.

"I just transferred ten million into your personal account," April said casually, as if she were talking about the weather. "I’ve seen you saving all those cute clothes, home decor items, and little trinkets on your online shopping carts over the past few days. Today, you get to buy every single thing you want. No holding back. And if you need more money, don’t hesitate to ask."

Emily’s jaw dropped slightly, her eyes widening as she stared at the sudden flood of zeroes on her banking app screen. "April! Ten million?! That’s way too much—"

"It’s not enough for everything you were denied," April cut in gently, squeezing Emily’s shoulder. "Buy the clothes. Buy the decor. Buy whatever makes you happy. We’re spending the whole day relaxing, shopping, playing games, and watching movies."

Before Emily could protest further, the shimmering translucent blue text floating in April’s line of sight finally finished its calculation, glowing with a dull, mysterious flicker.
