River Larkin let out a few pained screams before he finally got a clear look at the person in front of him. "It’s you, Felix Lawrence!! You’re still alive! You’re not dead... you’re still inside Veridia!!!"

He had thought Felix Lawrence left Veridia long ago. He had previously sent many people to find him, but with no leads, he had eventually given up.

He never expected to see Felix Lawrence again today.

The words had barely left his mouth when another fist smashed down. "If a son of a bitch like you is still alive, how could I possibly be dead?!"

Fist after fist, every punch buried itself in flesh. River Larkin screamed incessantly, finally starting to beg for mercy. "Stop! Let me go! Mr. Lawrence, please, let me go!"

Stella Sterling stood to one side, letting Felix Lawrence vent the rage in his heart.

Andrew Shaw also stood to the side, somewhat surprised by the scene.

’This man has a grudge with Felix Lawrence, too?’

He recalled hearing that Stella Sterling had indeed promised Felix Lawrence she would help him get his revenge if the opportunity arose.

’And Felix Lawrence’s enemy had apparently joined Sanctyr Base... so this man must be him?’

’That woman, Stella Sterling... she actually kept her promise and pulled someone right out of Sanctyr Base.’

Felix Lawrence’s eyes were bloodshot with rage. His hatred for River Larkin hadn’t faded with time; on the contrary, it had only grown more intense.

Stella Sterling sat down nearby, raising an eyebrow.

As Felix Lawrence continued to curse and beat the man, his men heard the commotion and gathered around. Witnessing the scene, they exchanged glances.

It was the first time they had ever seen Lawrence so out of control. A few of them hesitated, unsure if they should step in and restrain him.

But one of the men stopped him. "Don’t. Have you forgotten what we heard? His wife and his old brothers were all murdered by someone. It looks like this son of a bitch is the one responsible. Let’s not interfere with Lawrence’s revenge!"

After hearing this, those who had been hesitating immediately stood aside, their gazes fixed on River Larkin with bitter resentment.

Leon Lawrence ran over and started kicking River Larkin repeatedly.

The others might not have recognized River Larkin, but he did. This was the man who had murdered his mother, the man who had nearly killed him as well.

Gradually, River Larkin’s pleas grew fainter. His body was now beaten into a barely human shape, and the only thing left in his visible eyes was sheer terror.

Just then, Felix Lawrence stopped.

River Larkin let out a huge sigh of relief and tried to grab Felix Lawrence’s pant leg. "Mr. Lawrence, I was wrong! Please, let me go! Give me one more chance, I was wrong!"

He couldn’t understand it. ’Why is Felix Lawrence still in Veridia? Why is Stella Sterling with him?’

’If I’d fallen into Stella Sterling’s hands, I might have had a chance to live. After all, there was never any major conflict between us.’

’But in Felix Lawrence’s hands...’

River Larkin could only pray that Felix Lawrence would spare him.

Felix Lawrence no longer looked at him, instead turning to his son. "This is the man who killed your mother. I’m handing him over to you. You kill him. This revenge is yours to claim!"

Stella Sterling chuckled softly, then rose and walked over to him.

Leon Lawrence had been about to kill River Larkin right then and there, but seeing Sterling’s actions, he stepped aside. ’I’ll wait until Sterling is done with him, then I’ll make my move.’

Stella Sterling leaned close to River Larkin and whispered a few words in his ear.

River Larkin’s eyes widened as he stared at her, his expression a mixture of disbelief and confusion.

’What is Stella Sterling talking about? Something about a past life?’

’Something about me taking over her house?’

’Why don’t I understand a single thing she’s saying? I’ve clearly never done any of it!’

Seeing the confusion in his eyes, Stella Sterling didn’t press the matter further. Instead, she delivered the most crushing blow. "Are you still hoping Selene Larkin will come and save you? I’d advise against it. Selene Larkin has already gone on ahead of you. If you truly loved her, then today I can send you to be reunited with her. You should be happy, really!"

’Stella Sterling must be saying this just to torture me, to make me suffer!’

When Stella Sterling remained silent, his heart sank. He looked at her with a pleading expression. "Stella Sterling, tell me you were lying just now, right? Selene Larkin isn’t dead!"
