Chapter 522: Chapter 531: Selene Larkin Captured

Sanctyr Base had a large number of personnel, but for some unknown reason, their weapons had suddenly vanished.

Bare-handed, how could they possibly fight against people who were so well-armed?

It was an absolutely crushing victory.

Besides, not everyone from Sanctyr Base was even present; many of their members were away on missions.

Only a fraction of their forces had been left to guard it.

All of their key locations had been seized. Furthermore, the attack had been completely unexpected, catching the people of Sanctyr Base entirely unprepared.

Their forces were taken down quickly. If it weren’t for having to deal with the base’s residents, they would have arrived even sooner.

Hearing this, Stella Sterling nodded at them in satisfaction. "Well done. You’ll be handsomely rewarded when we get back!"

’This time, I managed to pull all of Sanctyr Base’s weapons into my space ahead of time. It cut their combat effectiveness by more than half.’

’Then, when I arrived, I fully re-equipped my subordinates with more firepower.’

Stella Sterling wasn’t too surprised by the outcome.

In fact, she felt a little disappointed.

After all, Sanctyr Base was a major power. She had expected taking it down to be at least somewhat troublesome, but it had turned out to be unexpectedly simple.

’Maybe it’s not that Sanctyr Base is too weak, but that I’m too strong now.’

’And with my space ability, it’s like having a cheat code. I can drastically weaken the enemy’s combat strength.’

So, while the result was expected, it was still tinged with disappointment for Stella Sterling.

Hearing Stella’s promise of a handsome reward, both Black Swan and Seven Locke looked thrilled.

Black Swan was a bit more composed, however. Unlike Seven Locke, who was baffled as to why Sanctyr Base’s forces were so weak, she had some idea of what had happened.

Although it seemed like they had taken down Sanctyr Base today, she knew the one who deserved the most credit was their master.

She had already solved most of their problems for them; they were just reaping the rewards.

’So, the one who really deserves the biggest reward is the master. But then again, she already has everything.’

The two of them weren’t speaking quietly, so everyone else present heard what they said.

But everyone thought they had misheard, or even suspected the two women were just talking nonsense.

’How could Sanctyr Base be taken down so easily?’

’How could Sanctyr Base be this weak?’

Besides, even if the attackers were that strong, taking Sanctyr Base should have involved a fierce battle.

But aside from a few explosions earlier, they hadn’t heard anything else.

’So how is this possible?’

’Sanctyr Base’s people probably haven’t even made their move yet.’

At this moment, however, Miles Sanctus felt that something was wrong.

’It’s too quiet. Far too quiet today. Before, I wouldn’t have believed what those two women said either.’

’Don’t I know the strength of my own base?’

’After the crisis began, although I didn’t handle it personally, I had my subordinates make the arrangements.’

’With my base’s firepower, would we be afraid of these few people?’

But so far, he hadn’t heard any major commotion. It was as if the people of Sanctyr Base had simply vanished.

A scene like this was extremely abnormal.

He suddenly recalled the words of the men he had just killed.

A shiver ran through him. ’Could it be... that what they said was true?’

’Strange things were happening all over Sanctyr Base, things were vanishing into thin air... even their weapons were gone?!’

’Is that why the base members were so passive, so easily defeated?’

Just as Miles Sanctus was reeling in shock and doubt, another set of footsteps echoed from outside. The crowd looked over expectantly. Could it be that the base’s reinforcements had arrived?

’See? We told you. There’s no way Sanctyr Base could be defeated so easily.’

’Once the reinforcements get here, these invaders are dead meat.’

But the result was a disappointment.

The arrivals weren’t reinforcements from Sanctyr Base. Instead, it was a few strangers escorting a captive woman toward them.

When Miles Sanctus saw this person, his pupils contracted and his eyes filled with disbelief.

Selene Larkin!

That person was Selene Larkin!!!

How could this be? Selene Larkin had fallen into their hands. He knew her capabilities; ordinary people were no match for her.

If she had sensed something was wrong and wanted to escape, it shouldn’t have been difficult at all.

But at this moment, Selene Larkin was injured and being forced forward by two people.

Without even thinking, Miles Sanctus knew whose side those two were on.

Just then, Selene Larkin looked up. Seeing Miles Sanctus, a flicker of excitement crossed her face, quickly replaced by urgency as she shouted, "Boss! These people’s abilities are strange! You have to run!"

As she spoke, there was still a hint of shock in Selene Larkin’s voice.

River Larkin was missing, and she had been looking for Corwin.

But a sudden incident in the base, punctuated by the sound of explosions, had temporarily interrupted her plans.

When she went out to check on the situation, she discovered outsiders in the base.

So she led a team to try and capture them.

But when they went to get their weapons, they found that all of them had disappeared.

Meanwhile, these people were wreaking havoc all over their base.

Her original plan was to rendezvous with the Boss and tell him about the strange things she had discovered.

If the situation was truly dire, she and the Boss would have had no choice but to retreat first.

But unexpectedly, she was discovered. And to make matters worse, the outsiders were all incredibly powerful. She considered herself quite skilled, yet she was no match for her opponent and ended up being captured.

Normally, she would have been overjoyed to see her Boss.

But the sheer strength of these people filled her with a sense of helplessness. Now, all she could do was tell her Boss to escape.

Defeat was certain today. But as long as the Boss escaped, with his abilities, they might be able to strike back in the future. They would still have a chance.

Hearing her words, a look of astonishment flashed in Miles Sanctus’s eyes, but he didn’t move.

’If Stella Sterling’s people are really this powerful, then there’s no escape for me in this situation anyway.’

The leaders of the smaller factions gathered around were already stunned. They certainly knew of Selene Larkin. To see that even she had fallen into the hands of these outsiders...

’Could it be that everything those two women said earlier was true?’
