Dawn arrived.

In Frostmere Village, the villagers rejoiced after repelling the monsters from invading the walls.

Outside the village was where Enzo and his party stood amidst the carcasses of monsters.

Indeed, they did not wait for the monsters to break through the walls. They met the monsters outside of the village.

It was simply because they prioritized the safety of the villagers, given that the demon and monster invasion surrounded the village.

Every village had an Everflame that warmed the villagers without ever extinguishing.

If they hastily traveled to a town to evacuate, many would die simply because of the harsh coldness in the Northern Province, especially now that the cold was at its peak.

Thankfully, Enzo and his Guild managed to protect every frontier village.

While his brother failed to do so, Enzo managed it.

Furthermore, the demons that appeared in the opposite direction were not as powerful as Varkhaz and his legion.

In fact, there was not a single B-rank demon amidst the demon wave.

Even the Rift Binder did not appear, seemingly looking like they had only opened a portal for cannon fodder to attempt to wreak havoc in the Empire’s territory.

Which obviously failed.

While Enzo and his Guild focused entirely on the monster wave, the Commander of the village commanded some of their combatants to fight against the demons, assisting Enzo.

Enzo and his party even managed to kill a B-rank monster.

They fought against a Glacier Troll Berserker.

Enzo and his Guild members were completely exhausted.

As he watched the dawn appear over the mountain peak where the Ice Mythical Dragon could be found, he looked up and smiled.

He was currently in fourth place—just below Aaron.

His Guild was in fourth place as well, only a small amount of contribution points away from overtaking Aaron’s Vikings Guild.

At the same time, his smile widened when he saw his elder brother’s ranking.

Max and his Guild’s contribution points were perhaps equal to the total contribution points of all the preceding participants.

That was how absurd Max was.

Enzo couldn’t help but shake his head.

Kate glanced at him and said, "Your brother is really..."

Kate couldn’t find the right word to describe Enzo’s brother.

The others soon followed as well, calling Enzo’s brother terrifying, the strongest player, and various other words of praise that made Enzo feel happy.

He was delighted that his elder brother had become an admirable figure to other players.

Hearing it from them made him absolutely happy.

He soon shook his head and said, "That’s why we can’t remain in fourth place. We have to fight for second place as well."

Kate and the others agreed.

The Lewis Guild thought differently, especially Spencer.

His expression was indescribable as he gazed upward, staring at the number of contribution points he and his Guild had compared to Max and the Demon Hunters Guild.

Did the Mirefall Province fight a lot of Greater Demons?

In the first place, how did he kill so many Greater Demons at the current stage? Is he already at B-rank?

Spencer was befuddled.

He himself had only slain five B-rank monsters and demons, and he had already regarded himself as the strongest player at the moment.

A high-ranking member of the Lewis Guild bowed toward him, waiting for him to speak.

"Find out what happened in the Mirefall Province."

"Yes, Guild Master."

Spencer gripped the hilt of his sword tightly.

Just how long until I can surpass him? What advantage does he have over me?

He couldn’t help but recall his mentor, wondering if Max also had a more powerful mentor than him.

Aaron, meanwhile, was stunned as he gazed at the sky.

Despite how the dawn appeared to blind his eyes, his gaze remained fixated on the sky.

A berserker walked up to him and said, "Guild Master, we ranked third."

The berserker was a player, so naturally, seeing their Guild Master ranked third and their Guild in the same place elated him.

However, Aaron was not satisfied.

Although it was only the first day, Aaron and his Guild had fought to their very best and only ranked third.

Which meant that if they did not grow stronger as time passed, they would rank lower at the end of the event.

He was even more discouraged after seeing the first ranker’s contribution points.

It was almost twice as much as his.

He didn’t know how to react as he recalled aiming for first place.

Aaron gritted his teeth and, unknowingly, his state of mind was deeply affected by Max and his Guild’s contributions.

Wang Yuxuan, on the other hand, was unbothered.

Seeing his Guild barely entering the top ten and his individual rank in the top fifteen, he simply shrugged.

It was only the first day, and his Sun Tzu’s Hand Guild was just getting started.

For him, the result was more important.

Of course, he was intrigued by the Demon Hunters Guild.

As far as he knew, the Demon Hunters Guild in the eastern province had barely been able to kill demons at all.

Wang Yuxuan had already mobilized most of the forces he had—mainly the NPCs—to fight against demons long before an A-ranker from the Demon Hunters Guild was able to do something.

The Demon Hunters Guild’s members in his province had yet to make a move, but the Guild was already cementing itself at the top.

Wang Yuxuan shrugged.

I guess first place belongs to them.

He was not merely talking about the Demon Hunters Guild alone, but their Guild Master as well—the first player.

Wang Yuxuan shrugged.

In the end, everyone had to compete for second place because trying to replace the first ranker only meant risking their performance throughout the duration of the event.

Hence, Wang Yuxuan was now aiming for Top 5 at least, individually or as a Guild.

Wang Yuxuan’s mentality was rare among the other Guild Masters, who were deeply affected by Max and his Guild’s contribution points.

In other words, Max’s past-life event was bound to have a drastic change in this timeline.

It was all because of the consequences of his battle against Varkhaz...
