Apocalypse Online: Regression of SSS-Class Summoner
Chapter 212: Owen’s Piercing Arrow
Kaelgor, the Iron Furnace, advanced onto the main battlefield.
Kaelgor was an enormous, heavily built demon standing nearly three meters tall.
His body resembled blackened volcanic iron, with thick plates of natural armor covering his chest, shoulders, arms, and legs.
Thin cracks ran across his body, glowing with a dull orange light as if a furnace burned beneath his flesh.
His head was protected by a naturally formed, iron-like skull plate, with two short, backward-facing horns.
His eyes burned with a deep orange glow.
A massive pair of iron chains hung from his waist, each ending in a gigantic siege hammer.
As Kaelgor proceeded forward, he became enraged.
The cracks across his body brightened and released waves of heat.
The longer he advanced without stopping, the stronger the pressure from the heat he continuously released became.
In other words, once he joined the main battlefield, the tide would instantly shift in their favor.
Kaelgor truly deserved his title as the Siege Commander.
His greatest strength was breaking fortified positions through his relentless advance.
Just as he finally arrived and was about to engulf the demon hunters with the heat he released, a greatsword headed his way.
The greatsword was neither fast nor slow, but its momentum was unstoppable.
It was heading directly toward Kaelgor’s chest.
Kaelgor instantly converted his demonic mana into an armor-like layer of condensed infernal mana around his chest.
It was his signature ability—Infernal Bulwark.
The greatsword, shining with divine mana, collided with the Infernal Bulwark.
When the Infernal Bulwark shattered, the greatsword’s momentum faded, and it failed to penetrate Kaelgor’s natural armor.
Helena grinned behind her helm as she pulled the greatsword back, swinging and rotating her body before bringing it down toward Kaelgor again.
Kaelgor already had sufficient time to pull on the pair of iron chains, swinging the gigantic siege hammers toward Helena as a counterattack.
The greatsword hit nothing when Kaelgor tilted his body, but his gigantic siege hammer also failed to crush Helena into pulp after she crouched beneath it.
She immediately pulled back her greatsword and thrust it toward Kaelgor, but he activated his signature ability again.
Their battle instantly fell into a stalemate, with neither managing to injure the other.
Max observed the duels between his Radiant Knights and Varkhaz’s captains and frowned.
Despite his Radiant Knights managing to force Varkhaz’s captains into stalemates, it was clear that they could not win a battle of attrition.
At the same time, the demon hunters began to struggle as well.
Max instantly recognized the need to summon his support, so he did not hold back.
He summoned Amelia and Theodore, ordering them to prioritize supporting his Radiant Knights.
Since Amelia did not need to cast healing and purification skills on the Radiant Knights, she focused on the demon hunters instead, stacking her healing skills with Seraphina’s.
Theodore, on the other hand, saw the struggles of the Radiant Knights, especially Darius and Helena, and immediately cast enchantment skills on them one at a time.
Weapon Blessing, Armor Blessing, and Haste—these three enchantment skills allowed Darius and Helena to keep up with their opponents.
Especially Helena, who had repeatedly failed to slash through Kaelgor’s natural armor.
With Theodore’s enchantments, she was able to force Kaelgor to focus entirely on her and become serious about their duel.
However, now that Helena was fighting Kaelgor on the main battlefield, Morzhul, the Soul Keeper, made a move as well, targeting her.
Morzhul was a tall, unnaturally thin demon covered in dark purple-black skin.
He wore a massive crimson robe decorated with hundreds of demonic symbols.
His face was concealed beneath an ancient bone mask with six small horns.
Numerous chains hung from his back.
Each chain contained a small transparent vessel in which a faint humanoid silhouette could occasionally be seen.
His hands possessed unusually long fingers, each ending in a glowing red claw.
When he arrived behind Kaelgor, he created spectral chains capable of partially binding a target’s soul.
Helena felt threatened by the spectral chains, and when they headed her way, she immediately retreated.
However, she suddenly became aware of the Radiant Ranger’s presence, with Owen aiming at the spectral chains heading toward her.
She suddenly recalled her master’s ability, which allowed the Radiant Knights to share tactical awareness with one another.
Calculating the distance she needed to create to allow Owen to destroy the spectral chains, she made her decision.
Owen’s piercing arrow, coated in dense divine mana, pierced through the spectral chains, while Helena used the opportunity to attack Kaelgor as he was distracted by the piercing arrow.
The piercing arrow had actually threatened him—the lethality it carried was terrifying.
Just as he felt relieved that the piercing arrow seemed to have missed him, Helena was already charging toward him.
This time, Helena’s actions were far different from before.
Helena concentrated her divine mana into her body and greatsword before performing a high-speed charge.
It was precisely why Kaelgor was startled.
He immediately converted every bit of demonic mana he could into an armor-like layer of condensed infernal mana, denser than before, covering his entire body.
Helena’s high-speed charge terrified him.
At the same time, he raised his gigantic siege hammer in front of him to add another layer of defense.
Unfortunately, it only blocked his vision.
Helena’s greatsword tilted downward, aiming to pierce his leg.
The accumulated momentum of her charge turned into a concentrated burst of force, allowing her to pierce through Kaelgor’s leg and severely injure him.
Kaelgor shouted at the top of his lungs, briefly affecting both the demon hunters and demons with his ear-piercing wail.
Kaelgor wasn’t used to someone breaking through his tough defense.
Seeing that the greatsword seemed to be stuck, he immediately used the opportunity to strike at Helena, who did not hesitate to abandon her greatsword and retreat.
At the same time, Morzhul desperately ran toward the corpses of the demon hunters, which caught Kaelgor’s attention.
He was utterly shocked to see that Morzhul had lost one of his arms.
He instantly recalled the piercing arrow that had appeared to miss him and finally understood that it might have been targeting Morzhul all along.
Kaelgor immediately glanced toward the direction from which the piercing arrow had come, and a chill ran down his spine when he saw a Radiant Knight pulling back a bow while staring coldly at him.
His golden eyes looked luminous, unblinking, and intensely sharp, with glowing irises that seemed to see through every microscopic weakness of his enemies...
