Chapter 194: Louie’s Inventions

Next to the Medical Center and the Sanctuary were the Support and Artificer Districts.

In the Support District, Max met Cedric—the Rune Mage whom he appointed as the head of the Demon Hunters Support Division.

When Cedric finally met Max, with a haggard face and dark circles in his eyes, he broke into tears and thanked him from the bottom of his heart.

Cedric finally found a job perfectly suited for him, one that he didn’t mind destroying himself in the process for.

Max was also honestly surprised that Cedric was at B-rank, making him a Grand Runesmith.

It appeared he had finally inherited Archmage Arlen’s legacy, which put him at ease, just remembering Archmage Arlen’s death.

At the very least, Archmage Arlen’s accumulated efforts were not put to waste, though he would definitely be disappointed given that Max did not inherit his legacy instead.

Max chatted with Cedric for a while, putting emphasis on taking care of his health.

Cedric was even more touched when Max kept reminding him to look after himself.

Though, Max simply did not want to cause an accident where a Head of a division died from overworking.

When Max was finally done with his conversation with Cedric, the Guild Master’s visit to the Demon Hunters Guild headquarters had already spread throughout the headquarters.

In fact, they found it difficult not to almost form a crowd just to sneak a view of their Guild Master.

He said, "This is my first invention after becoming a member of your Guild.

This is the Portable Demon Detective Device, the Demon-Sense Crystal, capable of detecting abnormal demonic mana.

It can detect nearby demons, estimate general threat levels, detect hidden demonic signatures, identify corrupted areas, and detect recently used demonic magic.

Though, it’s still not perfectly accurate.

A powerful demon can conceal itself, and unusual environments can cause false readings.

That limitation keeps it from trivializing demon hunting."

Max shook his head. "Not bad. It can be produced for members who don’t follow the Healer’s class."

Louie felt flattered by Max’s words.

"As for your request, the Rift Detection Beacon was created a week ago and its production has been ongoing.

At the moment, the large device designed for settlements and Guild outposts has been produced in quantities of more than ten already.

They are ready to be used."

Max was surprised.

Aside from the Portable Demon Detective Device, he put heavy emphasis on producing a device that could detect the appearance of unusual spatial instability.

The demons’ greatest advantage during their invasion was because of the Void Demon Race.

They possessed the ability to manipulate space, and once they reached B-rank, they could establish temporary invasion portals.

To fight against them was to create a device that could immediately anticipate their activity.

Max nodded. "Great work."

Louie’s face lit up.

He hurriedly followed up with more inventions he produced after following Max’s suggestion.

In fact, he couldn’t help but marvel at Max’s brilliant idea.

It couldn’t shake the thought of feeling ashamed that Max did not become an Enchanter.

He believed Max had the potential to reach S-rank in the Enchanter class.

Max nodded. "Great job."

Louie hurriedly continued, "As for the Anti-Corruption Equipment you’ve suggested, working with Cedric and Seraphina, we’ve produced four pieces of equipment in total.

The Purification Bracelet that continuously releases weak purification mana.

The Corruption Suppression Amulet, which slows down the progression of demonic contamination.

The Purification Mask that filters contaminated air and demonic particles.

The Holy Barrier Tent, which creates a temporary safe zone for injured and corrupted hunters.

These containment and survival tools would allow our Demon Hunters to hunt outside of our territory!"
