Apocalypse Online: Regression of SSS-Class Summoner
Chapter 175: Imperial Summon
Every Commander in the starting village from different provinces shared the valuable information to their trusted players, especially every future S-rank player.
Max was the same. Not only he received a call from the Commander Draven, but from Lieutenant Garrick as well.
Lieutenant Garrick had also told him about Rhayne and others.
He proudly shared to Max how they were capable in executing the mission given to him.
Max was honestly surprised. Lieutenant Garrick revealed that Rhayne had carved her own path, which meant she received her legacy earlier than Max could remember.
He frowned. Although his grudges against Rhayne remained, it was not as intense as before.
The reason was simple—he didn’t regard her in his eyes.
For him, the naive Rhayne was far from having a capability to surpass him.
Yet, according to Lieutenant Garrick, her temperament had changed.
She actually formed her own party members and was currently leading them, including Julian and Jaden.
He was surprised that these two were willing to be under her, following her orders around.
After his press conference, Julian desperately hired other keyboard masters to deny his claim.
He tried his best to twist the narratives.
In the end, Julian only displeased other players more, while those who knew Spencer defended him, clearing his name.
But Max didn’t care.
He was more amused on Rhayne’s character development.
Unfortunately, Rhayne’s legacy was only at A-rank.
Compared to Enzo, she was nothing.
But with her temperament, she might be variable for the upcoming world event.
As he mulled over it, he shook his head.
He was far in an advantage. He might not be receiving quests every now and then compared to Rhayne and others, but he was still far ahead than them.
Skills’ proficiency, levels, artifacts, prestige, status... Max was confident he was in the advantage in every aspect.
The thought of Rhayne and others were instantly discarded in the back of his mind.
Now that Malveris was confirmed to return to the Kingdom of Endless Wars, Max was confident that it would take three months.
Max had forgotten that a month in the real world’s time was also a month in the game, which made him thought it was six months.
Nevertheless, it was equal to six months based on the real world’s time.
In three months, he would receive the first edition of Eclipse Immersion Pod.
Just in time the world’s event finally occurred...
Now that Malveris had disappeared, and the threat of Dark Mages into the Empire was finally quelled, the Imperial Family finally bestowed rewards to the individuals who contributed the most.
As a result, Max was summoned to the Imperial Court to formally receive his reward.
Max was not as excited as before. Time was of the essence, he badly needed to reach B-rank before Malveris would return.
But he had to comply. As soon as he received the message, he immediately rushed to grab his horse.
He had not seen his horses for months. He also hired a trainer for his horses, who were responsible for taking care of them.
His residence was spacious and wide, allowing his horses to move around.
The trainer was a C-rank Beast Tamer, who instantly won the hearts of his prideful horses.
The C-rank Beast Tamer was recommended by Commander Darius.
His name was Joel, born in the Northern Mirefall, which was the Industrial Heartland of the Mirefall Province.
Beast Tamers were abundant in the Northern area because of the livestock breeding.
Every livestock were beasts that the Empire nurtured—most of them were wild monsters outside.
Aside from raising livestocks, Beast Tamers ought to tame wild horses.
For the Military, they were useful for reconnaissance.
Beast Tamer was an underrated class, similar to Summoners.
Unfortunately, unlike Summoners, Beast Tamer didn’t have an advance class at all.
They were stuck at C-rank.
Nevertheless, Max felt like Joel had potential.
For whatever reason it was, Max couldn’t determine, aside from trusting his intuition.
It was simply a shame that he was an NPC.
If he was a player and a Beast Tamer, Max might be able to invest in him by buying a Legacy Roulette.
When he went towards his horses, Joel was tending his horses.
Seeing Max’s presence, Joel was startled but when he saw it was Max, he immediately bowed deeply, thrilled.
Max gazed at him and said, "Come with me. Be my guide in the Imperial Capital."
Joel was stunned. He was about to ask when Max had already jumped to the male horse and flicked the reign.
Max’s single glance forced his body to move and jump towards the female horses and followed him.
...
Their journey was quiet and awkward—for Joel.
He simply saw the back of Max, who barely interacted with the knights—some came from the swordsman class and some from the shieldbearer path—who greeted Max with deep respects.
It was not because Max was being disrespecting towards them, it was simply because he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
Eventually, they left the Dunmarrow Capital and proceeded to the direction of the Northern Mirefall.
Max ordered Joel to lead the way. The female horse was excited and encouraged the anxious Joel to take the lead.
Max then remained quiet throughout. At the same time, he strictly ordered Joel to be quick as possible.
As much as Max wanted to visit Joel’s hometown, time was very important to him.
When Max asked Joel of how long it would take to reach the Imperial Capital and learned that it would take two days at most, Max decided to log out.
Max spent the rest of the day training his body and resting.
He also opened the message and saw that Aethernova negotiated with his request to be undisturbed for three months straight.
They told Max that they would only allow him not to be disturbed once and twice per month.
They starkly reminded Max if they granted his request, it meant a breach on the contract.
Max indifferent glanced at it and smiled.
Honestly, it was within his expectations. Given that he had sleep compression pack, reaching B-rank before the first world event was not difficult.
He could allocate even thrice per month for Aethernova.
He immediately replied to seal the deal.
Kylie immediately responded that Aethernova approved, as she was the one who handle Max’s request and simply passed them to the legal affairs department.
