Apocalypse Online: Regression of SSS-Class Summoner
Chapter 142: Meditation
His warriors survived from the ramble.
Even when Max extended the ramble another half an hour, they barely managed to prevent themselves from shouting the two humiliating words.
As soon as Max ended the ramble, they fell to the floor and dropped their weapons.
They were gasping for breath. Their stamina and mana points were single digit away from completely depleting.
Max simply smiled and acknowledged he had already pushed them to their limits. He was satisfied by the result.
He said in a content tone, "Good work. Next training will be tomorrow."
He didn’t wait for them to respond, as they could not anyway, and recalled them to his Conclave Network.
Max turned towards Jeremiah and said, "We should proceed to the consecrated prayer chamber."
Jeremiah bowed and waited for his Master to arrive.
He said, "It’s also the best way to recover your mana, Master."
Max’s face appeared paled, as he clearly exhausted himself in the training with his Warriors.
Jeremiah first impression after the four hours of training with his Master and the rangers and warriors was how powerful the latter was.
But the rangers couldn’t actually showcase their specialization, limiting themselves to the environment.
Which he believed was harmful for the long run.
Master should also realize it by now, but the training for the rangers at the moment is probably what he’s aiming for.
As though hearing his line of thoughts, Max said, "They have to get used to being uncomfortable.
Being comfortable in an uncomfortable environment will make you grow."
Jeremiah bowed and agreed. His face was filled with astonishment.
Max continued to walk, saying, "I’m sure you realized it by now. The training courtyard might seem a fixed environment where a warrior can thrive and a ranger will struggle, but you should acknowledge that both are improving and learning a lot from the training just now.
This is precisely why I need you to come up with a training plan. It should be a dynamic training plan, propose not perfection but to solidify their foundation.
My Radiant Knights... You all are strong, but when faced against as strong as you, you will be tested.
Everything that we have worked now will be tested in the future."
Jeremiah replied in a respectful tone, "I’ll keep that in mind, Master."
Max nodded. "Mhm."
They entered the consecrated prayer chamber and Max lit up the blessed incense burner with his mana.
The white ash smoke released by the blessed incense burner amplify the density of the divine mana in the surroundings.
Jeremiah closed the door to prevent the divine mana from leaking out, as he saw his Master summoned the Amelia and Theodore.
Max saw the support and fell into completion.
He shook his head and decided to summon Owen and Damien.
Owen and Damien appeared confused when they were summoned, but when they perceived the rich divine mana in the surroundings, they finally understood why their Master summoned them.
Max gestured for Jeremiah to gather with them.
Facing them, he said, "This time, we’ll be meditating, absorbing divine mana and refining them into a Radiant Mana to be stored to your core, strengthen it.
This will help you increase your levels and stats.
For this group, I will only give four hours straight.
That includes you, Jeremiah."
Jeremiah bowed deeply. "I understand, Master."
Max nodded. "Go and meditate on those benches."
The Radiant Knights acted what he had instructed, while Max watched their actions in silence.
He randomly chose a meditation bench and kneeled in silence.
Once he closed his eyes, he saw countless wisp of lights floating around him.
As he was trying to absorb them, he realized most of the wisp of lights were difficult to attract.
He frowned.
The wisp of lights was multiple times times pure and dense than ordinary mana he normally absorb to recover his mana points.
His attempt was to absorb and refine the mana to strengthen his core, thereby increasing his intelligence points and received EXP on the process.
Another way to grind EXP as a mage was to meditate and strengthen his mana core.
That was why the consecrated prayer chamber was a perfect environment for him to grind EXP.
But he faced a lot of problem, the absorption process was slow.
It would take sometime to absorb the wisp of lights.
What was even more strange was how the wisp of lights appeared be reluctant in being absorbed by him.
Max kept forcing to absorb them, but he felt like chasing them with nets rather than attracting them.
Max frowned and stopped attempting to absorb them as it began to feel mentally exhausting.
He only stared at the wisp of lights that appeared to be attracted by his affinity with them, but then suddenly decided not to move towards him.
As though there was a part of him that chase them away rather than willingly be one with him.
Max furrowed his eyebrows.
He opened his eyes and stared at his Radiant Knights and were stunned that they faced similar problem, except Amelia.
She was clasping her hands and seemingly prayed for the statue and the sacred iconography in the consecrated prayer chamber.
Max flew into rage.
But he didn’t let his emotions clouded his judgement.
He closed his eyes and used his skill, Conclave Link, allowing him to be mentally connected to Amelia.
He then heard her pray, stunning him.
"Godhand of Salvation, may Your Divine Authority strengthen us, so we can continue to repel the demons You worked hard to conquer. May your Divine Authority enlighten us on our path to fight against the demons.
May your Divine Authority , who sought the end the sufferings of the humanity from the demon’s clutches, recognize the presence of my Master.
My Master is the hope—he’s the present and the future.
He will surpass You and achieve greater things.
But he needs You.
Oh, Godhand of Salvation, please recognize our existence.
Saints, Divine Apostle, and Holy Paragon, please intercede for us."
Max was utterly stunned. Amelia prayed strangely...
