Apocalypse Online: I Awaken the Ultimate Bloodline
Chapter 160: Crimson Lotus Sanctuary
Chapter 160: Crimson Lotus Sanctuary
Its structure had completely transformed into a protective domain.
The technique was no longer an executioner’s trap meant to bury enemies alive. It was sheltering everything within its reach.
Then the colossal crimson sphere slammed into the flower.
KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!
The impact shook the tectonic plates of the entire valley.
The outer petals bent violently inward under millions of tons of concentrated destructive force. Deep, glowing fractures tore across their glassy surfaces. The vascular roots shivered violently as pure kinetic annihilation flooded the network.
Seana’s torso seized.
Cough!
A thick stream of blood spilled from the corner of her lips. Her knees buckled under the crushing weight pressing down from the sky, her boots cracking the stone beneath her.
Her arm shook, but the Blood Moon Sword did not lower by a single inch.
"Hold...!" she snarled through crimson-stained teeth.
The lotus groaned like a dying beast.
Another concussive wave detonated across the crown.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
Three outer petals shattered into blinding scarlet fragments.
Down in the trenches, thousands of soldiers and civilians shrieked, bracing for the ceiling to collapse on their heads.
The broken petals did not vanish.
Thick crimson roots shot forward like striking vipers, latching onto the falling shards, drinking the scattered force, and stitching the fractures shut with fresh, thick veins of energy.
The lotus was regenerating.
Slowly. Agonizingly. But it refused to die.
Seana’s Blood Qi drained at a terrifying rate. Her vision spun, dark spots creeping into the edges of her sight. Her lungs burned like she was inhaling liquid fire.
Yet the colossal flower continued to shield the valley.
She bit down hard on her tongue, the sharp iron taste of her own blood snapping her consciousness back into focus.
"I said..."
Her blade vibrated violently against the screaming air.
"...HOLD!"
THUMP.
The lotus released a blinding pulse of sovereign crimson light.
Every remaining petal locked rigidly into position. The kinetic fury of the falling sphere was caught, channeled, and distributed through millions of micro-arteries across the entire dome instead of crushing a single point.
The petals bent. The roots stretched taut as iron cables. Cracks ran from base to tip.
Yet the structure held.
For three suffocating, breathless seconds, the entire battlefield hung suspended between life and extinction.
Then the incoming sphere ran out of mass.
The concentrated ball of annihilation broke apart, its remaining heat hissing into harmless red vapor across the outer petals before dissolving into the wind.
Down below, Lemo Drackar stared upward, his jaw hanging open, the silver lightning on his fingers completely extinguished.
"What kind of power is this...?" he muttered, stunned. "An Art that holds like a mountain?"
Estelle Argon watched the glowing canopy, her chest rising and falling slowly. "She is indeed formidable."
"And beautiful, Mother," Annelle murmured beside her, her eyes wide with awe. "She looks like a fiery lotus blooming in the dark."
Across the trenches, absolute silence swept through the thousands of survivors.
The colossal crimson petals cast a warm, protective scarlet shadow over the dirt. Not a single falling rock, not a single ember of the ancient curse had touched them.
Above, Seana hovered beneath the center of the bloom.
Her sword remained raised toward the clouds. Blood dripped steadily from her chin, falling onto her collar. Her legs trembled violently, her core practically hollowed out.
She was on the verge of collapsing.
Yet she remained standing. And the people below were still breathing.
A semi-transparent crimson interface flared directly across her retina:
[MARTIAL ART MUTATION DETECTED]
[Original Art: Crimson Blood Sovereign Art]
[Original Technique: First Form — Crimson Lotus Burial]
[Mutation Trigger: Extreme Protective Will]
[Environmental Condition: Critical Battlefield Pressure]
[Anomalous transformation confirmed!]
The technique has exceeded its foundational operational parameters.
[Structural inversion complete.]
[FIRST FORM MUTATION: CRIMSON LOTUS SANCTUARY!]
Classification: Mutated Martial Technique
Primary Functions:
? Absolute Defensive Domain
? Dynamic Energy Distribution
? Vascular Structural Regeneration
Mutation Status: Unstable (High Qi Consumption)
Warning: Sustained operation may cause severe core depletion.
[EXP Gained: +1,500]
[Breakthrough Threshold Exceeded!]
A deep, violent warmth surged from the bottom of her Core. Her meridians expanded rapidly, her core trembling on the edge of detonating into the next realm.
[Host is about to breakthrough to—]
Hold, Seana commanded internally, her voice roaring inside her own mind.
[Warning: Suppressing breakthrough under heavy load may damage—]
I said HOLD IT!
She clamped down on her core with sheer, terrifying mental discipline, forcing the surging breakthrough energy back into her meridians.
Not now.
Not while Lothe was still up there. Not while the core in the clouds was still burning.
She wiped the blood from her chin with the back of her sleeve, her crimson eyes locking back onto the dark sky above.
"Your turn, Lothe," she whispered as she stared at the translucent text hovering before her eyes.
Crimson Lotus Sanctuary.
Slowly, her aching arm lowered the Blood Moon Sword by half an inch.
The massive lotus hummed with steady, rhythmic life. She could feel every vein in every petal, every root drinking the scattered spiritual drift from the air.
She didn’t fully understand the geometry of the mutation. She certainly couldn’t command every nuance of it yet. But one truth was clear: the art had warped because her will had demanded an iron roof instead of an iron grave.
And every single person below was still breathing.
A faint, tired smile broke through the blood drying on her lips.
"Looks like..." She let out a ragged, shaking breath. "...I did something reckless after all."
——————————
High above the clouds, Lothe looked down through the smoke.
For a heartbeat, the roaring array in front of him vanished from his mind. His [Qi Sight] stayed active, but his purple gaze was locked entirely onto the blooming crimson flower below.
He had never seen her weave energy like that. The vascular roots, the inverted petals, the way the structure recycled ambient Qi—it was a complete biological overhaul of a lethal strike.
She hadn’t just held the line. She had rewritten her art in the dirt to keep them safe.
Lothe’s sharp eyes softened. A quiet, crooked smile touched his mouth.
"Seana..."
Then he turned back to the sky. The softness evaporated like water on hot iron.
The four black Void Spear fragments were on the verge of splintering. Purple leylines strained against the grinding crimson current, and directly ahead, the dark core hung exposed like an unshielded heart.
She had bought him the window. He wasn’t going to waste a single second of it.
"Lothe!" Professor Sy’s shout tore through the thunder. "The pathways are closing! The core is sinking back under!"
Lothe’s gaze snapped forward.
The dark sphere was already fading, swallowed by shifting red runes as the formation frantically stitched its severed circuits back together. Once those pathways locked, the core would vanish behind layers of dynamic spatial distortion again.
There wouldn’t be a second opening.
Lothe raised the spirit brush.
KLANG!
Purple spatial Qi flooded the Fourfold Void Array. The four cardinal anchors flared, their violet light pushing back against the encroaching red smog. The innermost ring began spinning with blinding, deafening speed.
Sy raised both palms, condensed white energy crackling along his forearms like ball lightning. "Can you shatter it?!"
Lothe shook his head. "Not yet."
Sy stared at him, bewildered. "What do you mean, not yet?! It’s right in front of us!"
Lothe’s eyes never left the sphere. His brush cut through the empty air in three lightning strokes, laying down a fresh ring of violet glyphs around the inner circumference.
"We smash the core, the command structure dies," Lothe said, his voice flat and clinical. "But right now, it’s still wired into forty percent of the circulation grid. If we crack the shell while the conduit is live, all that stored energy won’t vanish. It will blow outward in a dirty explosion that will level the valley."
He slashed the brush downward, locking the final glyph.
The violet ring contracted like a tightening noose.
"We don’t crack it while it’s plugged in," Lothe said, his purple eyes flashing with lethal focus. "We cut the cord first."
Sy’s jaw tightened. "And you have the precision to slice spatial leylines that thin?"
Lothe’s lips curved into a sharp, dangerous smirk.
"Watch me."
He drove the butt of the spirit brush straight into the center of the innermost ring!
SHAAAAAAAAAAH!
The Fourfold Void Array detonated into a blinding sun of deep violet light!
The innermost ring didn’t shoot outward—it collapsed inward, folding the fabric of space around the dark core like crushing vise jaws. The spatial coordinates tethering the core to the red storm were physically sheared in two!
SKRRRRR-BOOM!
The ancient formation released an ear-splitting, acoustic shriek that rattled the bedrock of Country B.
The red-black sky buckled violently.
The four Void Spear fragments groaned, fractures widening across their black iron surfaces.
And deep within the vortex, the dark, pulsing heart snapped completely free from its web, tumbling into the open air like a severed head.?
