Apocalypse Online: I Awaken the Ultimate Bloodline
Chapter 150: The Silver Moon and Crimson Moon
Chapter 150: The Silver Moon and Crimson Moon
The corridor groaned under the weight of the two powers. Dust fell from the ceiling as deep cracks spiderwebbed across the walls.
Seana stood at one end, her Blood Moon Sword pulsing with a dark light. Behind her, the massive crimson moon of her Second Form hung in the air, bathing everything in a scarlet, bloody glow.
Across from her, Situ Li slowly raised his hands. His Silver Moon Circular Blades hovered beside him, rotating with a high-pitched whine. His oily gray Qi seeped across the floor, staining the stone like a spreading infection.
"So, you’ve reached the Peak Stage of Foundation Establishment realm," Situ Li said. He looked at the crimson moon behind her. "Impressive."
Seana’s eyes remained a cold, glowing red. "Yes."
Situ Li smiled, but his eyes stayed dead. "Then I should stop treating you like an exhausted child."
His fingers twitched.
SHING!
The circular blade split apart. Two became four. Four became eight. Eight silver crescent blades circled him like a ring of jagged teeth. Oily gray smoke wrapped around their edges.
[Silver Moon Art—First Form: Moonfall.]
SHING! SHING! SHING!
The eight blades vanished.
Seana’s pupils contracted. One blade appeared inches from her face.
CLANG!
She parried. Another burst through the wall to her left. She twisted her wrist, deflecting it into the stone. A third erupted from the floor beneath her boots.
BOOM!
The stone exploded. Seana leaped backward, but a fourth blade curved toward her throat mid-air. She tucked her chin.
WHOOSH!
The blade sliced through a few strands of her hair. A fifth came from behind. Seana spun, her sword a blur of crimson light.
CLANG!
The blades didn’t just fly; they moved with intelligence. They bounced off pillars, disappeared into cracks, and attacked from every blind spot. Every collision sent silver and crimson sparks flying through the dark.
Situ Li’s fingers danced. One blade slowed down to a crawl. Another accelerated until it hummed. A third stopped entirely before shooting like a bullet at Seana’s back.
CLANG!
The impact pushed Seana back three steps. Situ Li’s gray Qi surged.
"Gray Eclipse."
BOOOOOOM!
A thick, oily gray fog flooded the corridor. The air turned freezing and smelled of rot. Wherever the fog touched, the ancient stone turned black and brittle.
Seana circulated her Crimson Blood Qi. Her blood roared in her veins, forcing the gray rot away from her skin. A fine crimson mist escaped her pores, clashing with the gray fog.
Situ Li appeared inside the mist. He struck with his palm.
BOOM!
Seana crossed her sword to block. The force sent her sliding back until she hit a pillar.
CRACK!
Situ Li didn’t give her a second to breathe. [Silver Moon Art—Second Form: Eightfold Lunar Prison.]
The eight blades shot outward. They embedded themselves into the walls, ceiling, and floor around Seana. Gray Qi connected them like wires, forming a massive, circular cage.
"You’re trapped," Situ Li whispered.
The blades within the cage moved. They attacked in a flurry. Seana parried, ducked, and leaped, but the space was too small.
SLASH!
A blade grazed her ribs. Blood soaked her robes.
Situ Li pressed the attack, pillars collapsing and the ceiling crumbling under the sheer pressure of his gray Qi.
Seana didn’t look at the blades anymore. She looked directly at Situ Li. Her mind was calm. Her breakthrough had given her more than just Qi; it had given her a new perspective.
[Silver Moon Art—Third Technique: Severing Crescent!]
The eight blades merged into one giant, rotating silver wheel. It swept across the corridor to bisect her.
Seana raised her sword.
BOOOOOOM!
The two forces collided. The shockwave shattered the remaining walls. Seana slid back, her boots smoking against the stone.
Situ Li advanced through the dust. "You are powerful, mortal. But your technique is still unrefined."
Seana smiled. It was a cold, frightening expression. "Is it?"
She knew she couldn’t defeat his blades by matching them. She had to attack what was controlling them. His body. His blood.
Situ Li froze, turning around as if sensing something.
Seana raised her free hand. A tiny sphere of blood appeared above her palm. Then another. Then another.
[Blood Art: Nine Crimson Blood Pearls.]
She had created this when she was seperated from Lothe into another chamber.
They floated away from her, moving through the gray mist like silent ghosts. They stopped in a perfect circle around Situ Li—not above or below, but exactly at his heart level.
Situ Li was right in the center.
"What is this?" he asked, his gray Qi flared defensively.
"An end," Seana said.
She snapped her fingers.
SHING! SHING! SHING!
The nine pearls detonated inward. Nine needles made of compressed, crimson blood shot toward Situ Li.
CLANG!
He blocked one with his circular blade. But the other eight were too fast.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
The needles buried themselves in his body. One in his shoulder. One in his arm. Two in his chest. Four in his legs.
"ARGH!" Situ Li’s gray Qi exploded in anger, but the needles stayed deep in his flesh.
Then, thin crimson threads emerged from the needles. They shot outward, connecting the needles back to the nine pearls floating in the air.
Situ Li stiffened. He tried to move his arm, but he couldn’t. It wasn’t just his muscles—he felt his very blood being drawn toward the needles.
"You..." Situ Li’s face turned pale. "You’re controlling my blood?"
Seana’s smile grew colder. "Yes."
The crimson threads tightened. Situ Li’s body convulsed.
"ARGHHHHH!"
His own pulse became his enemy. Every heartbeat felt like a knife twisting in his veins. He tried to cut the threads with his silver blades.
CLANG!
The blades hit the threads, but the threads were made of Seana’s sovereign intent. They didn’t break.
Seana raised her hand again. A tenth Crimson Blood Pearl appeared above her palm.
"Why don’t I add something else?" she whispered. Her eyes turned a deeper red. "Bloodbane."
The tenth pearl pulsed. A dark, poisonous energy flowed from Seana’s hand, through the air, and into the threads.
The poison reached Situ Li’s bloodstream.
"AAAGHHHHHH!"
His eyes rolled back. The Bloodbane poison traveled through his veins like liquid fire. His meridians spasmed. His gray Qi became chaotic and weak.
Situ Li dropped to one knee. Blood spilled from his lips.
"Bloodbane is my gift to you," Seana said. "As long as I am linked to your blood, the poison will never stop."
Situ Li trembled. His face was a mask of agony. But then... he began to laugh.
A low, wet, sinister laugh.
"You think..." Situ Li looked up, his chin dripping with blood.
"...that pain is enough to stop a servant of the Gray Moon?"
BOOOOOOM!
His gray Qi didn’t explode outward. It exploded inward.
He was deliberately burning his own blood and meridians to purge the poison and the threads. It was a suicidal move, damaging his own foundation just to break her grip.
The crimson threads began to vibrate and fray.
He’s killing himself to kill me, Seana realized.
Situ Li’s eight blades began to spin in a frenzy around him.
"If I must destroy my blood to be free of you," he hissed, "then I will."
[Silver Moon Art—Fourth Form: Evil Moon Reversal]
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
A massive silver hurricane erupted from Situ Li. The rotating blades tore through the stone walls like they were paper.
The nine pearls were pushed back by the gale. The threads stretched until they were as thin as spider silk.
Seana’s hair whipped behind her. She poured her Qi into the pearls, keeping the link alive.
Situ Li looked at her through the silver storm. His eyes were bloodshot and mad. Seana looked back, her tenth pearl hovering and ready.
Blood connected them. Neither would let go.
The corridor was collapsing. The ceiling was falling in giant slabs.
The battle had only just begun.
