Apocalypse: My Tattoos are Ten Yama Kings
Chapter 750 - 744: The Buddha’s Strategy
"The Demon Lord has returned?"
"The Demon Lord has returned?"
Buddha and Wa Huang exchanged looks, speaking in unison.
And then.
Almost simultaneously, they exclaimed in surprise, "The power of cause and effect within him seems to be suppressed."
The power of cause and effect within the Demon Lord still existed.
However, it was no longer in its active state but rather in a relatively dormant one.
Wa Huang and Buddha were no fools; they were far more intelligent than the Demon Lord.
Upon seeing the suppression of the power of cause and effect within the Demon Lord, they immediately realized that he must have had a miraculous encounter in the Returning Ruins!
As they spoke, the Demon Lord had already approached them.
"Wa Huang, Buddha, my good allies, you wouldn’t be avoiding me now, would you?" the Demon Lord said sarcastically.
Before, when the power of cause and effect entangled him, his two good allies treated him like a plague god.
Being a woman, Wa Huang blushed with embarrassment and smiled awkwardly.
If anyone was shameless, it had to be Buddha!
Hearing the Demon Lord’s words, not only did Buddha not feel ashamed, but he claimed credit by saying, "Demon Lord, wasn’t I right?"
"I said that there must be a way to resolve the power of cause and effect in the Returning Ruins. You followed my advice and went there, and sure enough, you found it."
Hearing this, Wa Huang looked at Buddha with astonishment and admiration.
Wa Huang thought to herself, when it comes to shamelessness, Buddha, you take the cake!
Not long ago, you didn’t say this to me.
You said that if the Demon Lord could find a way to solve the power of cause and effect in the Returning Ruins, it would be great.
And if he couldn’t, dying in the Returning Ruins would solve a problem too.
Good lord, now it’s all your credit.
"Stop trying to take credit."
"You’re the worst." The Demon Lord retorted to Buddha angrily.
Buddha was unfazed by the Demon Lord’s scolding.
In Buddha’s view, scolding signifies affection; the Demon Lord was still his good ally, so venting his anger with some scolding was no big deal.
If the Demon Lord scolded a few times, it meant he still regarded them as allies.
If he said nothing at all, it would mean that their small alliance was over.
So Buddha neither fought back nor retorted when scolded by the Demon Lord.
Seeing that Buddha didn’t mind him, the Demon Lord felt bored and decided to get down to business.
"By the way, why have all our disciples gathered at Wa Huang’s Palace?"
"Is there some big operation?" the Demon Lord asked straightforwardly.
Buddha did not hide anything from his good ally and explained all they knew like pouring beans from a bamboo tube.
Hearing about the Returning Ruins Arena, the Demon Lord’s expression changed.
After hearing the full story, the expression on the Demon Lord’s face changed several times.
After Buddha and Wa Huang finished recounting the events, they wanted to analyze and share their insights and speculations with the Demon Lord.
The Demon Lord, however, was not interested in their nonsense and interrupted them directly: "You know nothing, what’s there for you to analyze?"
"Alright, enough with the analysis. I already know the ins and outs of this matter."
This time it was the Demon Lord who spoke, unlike before.
After the Demon Lord finished speaking, surprised expressions appeared on the faces of both Buddha and Wa Huang.
"So you’re saying you were the first to discover this Returning Ruins Arena?" Buddha asked.
The Demon Lord nodded and responded, "Yes!"
"And you used the Returning Ruins Arena to kill Lin Yuan, but he got away?" Wa Huang followed up with the question.
The Demon Lord nodded, his face slightly flushed, and replied, "Yes, just when I was about to kill him, he conceded and fled."
The Demon Lord was quite shameless. Clearly, he was the one who conceded and escaped.
Yet, according to his narrative, it was Lin Yuan who fled.
However, Wa Huang and Buddha did not doubt the Demon Lord’s story.
They weren’t present and had no way of knowing the actual situation on the ground.
They could never have imagined that the Demon Lord, a Tier One Powerhouse, was unable to handle Lin Yuan.
In fact, he was almost killed by Lin Yuan.
Having gotten the complete story from the Demon Lord, Buddha’s analysis became much more accurate.
"It seems that after Lin Yuan conceded and escaped, he revealed the secret of the Returning Ruins Arena to the Void Tribe."
"The Void Tribe, already in dire straits, decided to go all-in, gambling once in the Returning Ruins Arena," Buddha analyzed, sharing his thoughts.
"Sigh!" Wa Huang sighed and said, "This time, the Void Tribe really hit the mark. They’ve used the Returning Ruins Arena to kill quite a few of our disciples."
"The number of disciples we’ve lost has reached an all-time high."
Wa Huang’s Palace had a large number of disciples, so the casualties were the greatest.
Seeing more and more disciples not return, Wa Huang felt genuine heartache.
At this point, the Demon Lord had grasped the situation.
Although numerous disciples from the three factions were gathering outside, no major action was taking place.
The reason all three disciples were gathering was simply to better deal with the Returning Ruins Arena.
"Why gather so many people if there’s no big operation?" the Demon Lord complained.
Upon hearing this, a sly expression appeared on Buddha’s face.
He leaned in close to the Demon Lord’s ear and chuckled, "It’s true that there was no big operation before, but now there can be."
"The matter of the Returning Ruins Arena costing us so many disciples is indeed a misfortune."
"But, you know, a blessing in disguise?"
"Now, this matter concerning the Returning Ruins Arena might not be a bad thing for us."
Wa Huang: "????"
The Demon Lord: "????"
The Demon Lord glared at Buddha and grumbled, "Why all the suspense at a time like this?"
"If you can’t say it, then shut up. If you can, get on with it."
The rejuvenated Demon Lord, now young and impetuous, showed little deference to Buddha.
Buddha wasn’t bothered by this and directly shared his thoughts: "Before, it was difficult for us to deal with the Void Tribe because they had dispersed themselves."
"With them dispersed, we had to clear them out one by one, which was completely unproductive."
"But now, they’ve all gathered in the Returning Ruins. Doesn’t that give us the perfect opportunity to capture them all at once?"
"We should assemble our forces, all the capable disciples, and march towards the Returning Ruins."
"We’ll station ourselves at the entrance to the Returning Ruins and wait for them to come out."
"Once they come out, they’ll fall into our hands. If they don’t, they’ll eventually be trapped and die in the Returning Ruins."
"Remember, there’s no energy replenishment within the Returning Ruins."
With Buddha’s plan laid out, Wa Huang and the Demon Lord’s eyes lit up.
This plan was indeed reliable.
The Returning Ruins served as a natural cage.
The Gui Xu Race, trapped inside, either had to come out and surrender or wait to die within.
"What are we waiting for?"
"Hesitation brings change; let’s move now," the impatient Demon Lord urged hastily.
