Alex and his friends proceeded to clear out the rest of the School of Fine Arts.

There weren’t any mutated beasts left and Terry created the fortified observation point with his ability.

After that, they left and headed for the rest of the buildings in the college compounds to clear them and set up the observation points.

Fortunately, there weren’t much to deal with in what was left.

When they were done, Alex headed for the School of Bio-science again.

The diesel for the generators there was running out soon so it was time to top it up.

Alex and his friends walked down the familiar underground car park, and it was dark as usual.

He topped up the jerrycans in the storage area and the others filled up the generators with the jerrycans after he was done.

While they were doing so, he went around checking on the cars that were still inside the underground car park.

It was time to prepare for the eventual move and these cars would come in handy.

One after another, when the cars were still serviceable, he stored them into his storage space.

There were around twenty cars that he had stored but it was still far from what he would require with the over two hundred people that were with him.

Buses would be far more efficient for transporting people if he could get his hands on one.

Their belongings or even the dorm building could be stored into his storage space when they made the move so it wasn’t too much of an issue.

Right now, he could only try and get the buses when they ventured out of the college campus to scout the route to get to the hydroelectric dam.

With that in mind, Alex walked over to Riley and the others.

They were just done with the top up.

"Let’s get out of here. This place still gives me the creeps." Terry said while he glanced around warily.

The darkness and what had happened when they battled the newt were still creeping him out.

Riley smacked on his back and said, "I will lead the way for you."

Terry rolled his eyes at him and Brian shook his head at them by the side.

"You two might be able to make lots of money as clowns when the apocalypse is over." Brian said and that got Riley and Terry to roll their eyes at him.

"Still thinking about money even until now, huh." Alex patted Brian’s shoulder and said.

Brian shrugged and replied, "Old habits die hard, I guess."

The others shook their heads at him and they proceeded to walk towards the entrance of the underground car park.

It took them a while but they were able to get to the clean and sterile lab of Teresa without too much of a hassle.

"Any new discoveries?" Alex asked after he greeted Teresa but she gave out a sigh and shook her head at him.

"I guess I’m running into a dead end.

"These mutagens or whatever they are, behave unlike anything I’ve seen before.

"Even those lab rats that were fed the flesh from those mutated beasts didn’t stop with their mutation, albeit much slower than those mutated beasts.

"I will try to find a way to eliminate these mutagens but it might take up weeks, months or even years at the rate that I’m going."

Alex frowned and glanced over at the lab rats.

They were edgy and violent like those zombiefied students they had dealt with before.

And these lab rats were bigger than normal.

A clear sign that they too were mutating in their own ways after consuming the meat of those mutated beasts.

It wasn’t a good sign for him.

What would those zombiefied Awakened become if they had time to progress with the mutation?

So far, those zombiefied Awakened he had dealt with were obviously still very early in the mutation progress after they had consumed the meat of the mutated beasts.

It might be another big problem he had to deal with in the future on top of the mutated beasts and Awakened now.

With this in mind, Alex glanced back at Teresa and he briefed her on what they had encountered so far.

He told her of the zombiefied Awakened and also made it a point to elaborate to her on what the different stages of mutation were like.

Teresa took note of everything and wrote them down.

But she was still without any direction or hunch on how to proceed.

"I will have to think about all this information and try to come up with something." She said in an apologetic tone, as if it was her fault for not being able to come up with new discoveries.

"You are already doing your best." Alex knew that she was doing her best with what was available to her.

"Is there anything we can do to help?" he asked to see if there were any way or resources he could get for her to accelerate her work.

Teresa shook her head at first but she stopped and glanced at him with eyes opened wide after a moment.

"There’s a Bio-science company down at the southern piers, and they were trying to headhunt me over to their company back then.

"They have much more advanced machines to analyze and break down the samples.

"If you are able to make contact with them, it might help."

Alex frowned when he heard the words, Bio-science company and southern piers together.

It reminded him of the quarantine area that the pamphlet had marked.

There might really be something else going on in the quarantine area.

"We will try if we can, but for now, continue with what you are doing and be prepared for a move to somewhere that is safer." Alex said and Teresa nodded her head at him.

He proceeded to hand them clothes, sanitary products, other necessities, and finally, food and water before he and his friends left.

Alex pondered on what Teresa had said about the Bio-science company but he couldn’t confirm his hunch at the moment.

And right at the moment, there were other things for him to care about.

The day was ending and it was time for another ability soon.
