Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 1418 - 60: Upheaval (Part 2)

The battle at Yan Kailuo’s Castle was completely one-sided.

Or rather... it was a one-sided trend from two perspectives.

Philip took down Yan Kailuo in an instant, so swiftly that outsiders couldn’t discern what method Philip used to eliminate Yan Kailuo.

However, the battle involving the thirteen "reinforcements" Philip brought with him and the other three world consciousnesses was not as pleasant...

World consciousness after all remains world consciousness; the sheer amount of Origin Energy alone exceeded Philip’s imagination! And conventional power also depends on the strength of the hosts possessed—naturally, the current Demon Army Highest Commanders had the upper hand in this aspect.

However, the gap wasn’t significant—at least, in a thirteen-against-three battle, the situation still turned one-sided, with the thirteen warriors from the Demon Palace Security Bureau entangling the three world consciousnesses, preventing them from escaping.

For Philip, this was sufficient.

Once again Black Light surged, enveloping Yan Kailuo and Ould. This eerie Black Light seemed to seal off all their senses. Although they’d been resurrected with resurrection tools, their consciousness was still in disarray like they were in a vegetative state.

Having done all this, Philip turned his gaze to another world consciousness.

...

After receiving Yan Kailuo’s intelligence, the Demon Spirit rushed to Yan Kailuo’s Castle without hesitation, but the five-minute journey seemed to have determined everything.

Standing amidst the castle’s ruins, glaring intensely at the world consciousness carbon copy displayed on the wall, its body smashed to pulp, the Demon Spirit was overwhelmed with fury, anxiety, and other negative emotions. He took a deep breath to try and calm his anger, but suddenly, a faint voice beside his ear diverted his attention.

"Who? Who’s there?"

Rustling sounds came, and in response to the Demon Spirit’s question, the sound-maker moved even faster.

The Demon Spirit frowned and waved his hand gently. With the dim energy streaming out, it entwined the sound-maker like a rope, securely delivering him to the Demon Spirit’s presence.

"Who are you?"

The Level 10 demon fiend was unrecognizable to the Demon Spirit.

"My... my lord, I’m a servant of Lord Yan Kailuo... I..."

This demon fiend’s eyes darted around as if afraid to meet the Demon Spirit’s gaze directly.

Observing the wandering eyes and anxious, fearful expression, the Demon Spirit momentarily spaced out and seemed to have realized something.

"What have you heard?"

"I, a humble servant..."

"Never mind, I’ll just take a look myself."

The Demon Spirit said, then placed his hand on the demon fiend’s head.

As Creation Energy surged, the demon’s memories flushed into the Demon Spirit’s mind within moments.

"Snap!"

The Demon Spirit’s face turned ashen, and the unlucky demon fiend was instantly crushed by the Demon Spirit.

...

One minute earlier.

Philip rushed out of Yan Kailuo’s Castle with four spoils, but halfway through, he abruptly changed direction.

He gazed at the First City below, now thrown into chaos under Yan Kailuo’s influence, and suddenly, an idea sprang to his mind.

’You elusive rat, this time I’ll let you bask in the limelight!’

Philip thought, and then his vast Spiritual Fluctuation expanded, spreading over the entire city like a large net.

Below, every demon in the city was momentarily dazed, and in the next instant, Philip’s image and voice appeared in everyone’s mind.

"I am Philip!"

"Next, I have a sorrowful message to share with you all!"

Hiding the fact that the Demon Spirit was the consciousness of the Demon Realm, Philip revealed everything about the Demon Spirit’s past and current life, ending with an additional statement.

"Yan Kailuo is one of the Demon Spirit’s duplicates. Now, I declare that Yan Kailuo, Demon Spirit, Oga, and Reyes are all expelled from the highest meeting of the Demon Army and defined as rebels!"

"My people, war begins immediately, but before that, please leave this place at once! I have reason to believe that the Demon Spirit will stop at nothing to keep their secret, even if it means annihilating you all."

"To the east, my Territory will become your refuge and your new home."

As previously said, Philip’s influence in the Demon Realm was supreme. Though his words were not entirely convincing, still nearly half of the demons believed him and quickly ran towards the city boundaries.

Which truly enraged the Demon Spirit.

...

After checking the memories, the Demon Spirit was brimming with anger. He spread his senses and saw the city in what seemed to be an exodus.

Furthermore, hundreds of spiritual fluctuations circled around, seemingly wishing to probe him and verify whether Philip’s claims were true.

The Demon Spirit stood there contemplating for a while but couldn’t think of a way to counter Philip’s public opinion offensive. Eventually, the Demon Spirit snorted coldly, slowly ascended higher, and then instantly shot through the sky.

He left.

...

When Wen Yu, or rather Yu Yan, received this information, it was already a day later.

The entire process was like an absurd drama; instead of engaging in a major conflict, both sides waged the first wave of attacks through public opinion.

Philip and his people portrayed the Demon Spirit as an ambitious figure not seen in a million years in the Demon Realm; the highest seven-person conference of the Demon Army had five seats already occupied by the Demon Spirit.

The Demon Spirit claimed that everything Philip said was nonsense, designed to eliminate dissidents through acts against Yan Kailuo and even the Black River Sovereign—indeed, Wen Yu’s mess was now on Philip’s shoulders, but Philip probably didn’t mind.

Overall, both sides maintained a semblance of peace, yet idle gossip was like an untraceable invisible knife, regardless of the upper levels, it had already caused a great uproar among the middle and lower layers!

"Boss, do you think it’s true?"

The vice-captain of the Cyclops tribe subtly approached, seeking his captain’s opinion, and Wen Yu merely smiled, then asked.

"What about you? What do you think? And the rest of you?"

At this moment, members of the Cyclops Elite squad gathered to discuss this matter passionately.

"I believe what Lord Philip said is true. Boss, I’ve seen you as family, so I’ll speak frankly; yesterday, I already submitted my resignation and am preparing to leave under Lord Demon Spirit’s command."

One member said, and his statement gained the agreement of three others.

"I don’t think it’s a big deal, working for someone else is all the same anyway, and Lord Demon Spirit offers great treatment here."

The vice-captain’s opinion also found support from two others.

As for Wen Yu, he just quietly lit a cigarette.

He hadn’t expected that his inadvertent actions would have caused such a major uproar.
