Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts
Chapter 1390 - 32: Follow Me
As the door opened, Tang Haofei and Wen Yu walked out of the Dominion’s Great Palace one after the other.
Outside the door, Golden Armor leaned against the wall, quietly waiting for the final verdict—whether Wen Yu lived or died, he would undoubtedly report back to his master.
However, this time, Golden Armor wasn’t waiting for the worst outcome, as expected.
On the contrary, here was Number 2.
At this moment, Number 2 stood beside Golden Armor, seemingly more anxious than Golden Armor. Upon seeing Wen Yu and Tang Haofei walking out side by side, Number 2’s face turned green.
Wen Yu survived this ordeal, which meant he had reached some sort of "peace agreement" with the Dominator. From now on, Wen Yu would no longer live a life constantly on the run.
Number 2 didn’t know exactly what happened; he could only watch as Wen Yu led Tang Haofei toward him and Golden Armor. Subsequently, Wen Yu first nodded at Golden Armor and then looked at Number 2.
"Call the person, both of you..."
With a mischievous look, the tone filled with mockery, Number 2’s breathing became rapid, and his face started to turn red.
Yet, before Number 2 could say anything, Wen Yu seemed tired of playful teasing. He patted Tang Haofei and pointed first at Golden Armor.
"Friend, mine. As for whether it’s your friend, that’s for you to judge."
Tang Haofei nodded, then looked at Number 2.
"So this one must be the enemy, right?"
"That’s right, mortal enemy!"
Wen Yu nodded, a hint of killing intent in his gaze as he looked at Number 2.
"After you left, some remarkable things happened in this world..."
Wen Yu said so, only to be interrupted by Tang Haofei.
"The Demigods and Earth’s will, I know, I have some memories of it."
"But the more specific reason, you might not fully understand. I’ll explain in detail once we’re back. For now, you need to know that Number 2 is our main enemy at the moment; next time you encounter him, just finish him off."
Having said this, Wen Yu looked at Number 2, eyes flashing with an ambiguous glint.
In a moment, Wen Yu abruptly stepped closer to Number 2.
Faced with Wen Yu’s sudden approach, Number 2 hesitated; he involuntarily stepped back but could only rely on the cold wall behind him.
"Do you remember what I said just now?"
Wen Yu asked a rhetorical question to Number 2 in an almost inaudible voice.
Number 2 remained silent.
"I said I would come looking for you very soon... So, you can look forward to our first meeting."
The specific time and place were unmentioned by Wen Yu, and as for whether this threat was real or fake, Number 2 naturally couldn’t discern. He could only send a warning through the Soul Connection with the main body, having no other means of counteraction.
Even within the Dominator’s realm, even Demon Spirits must adhere to the rules set by the Dominator.
But he wasn’t aware...
At the moment, Wen Yu, in the standoff between the Dominator and the Demon Lord, was, in a sense, already beyond the Dominator’s established rules.
The thoughts in his mind were also passed on through the link between carbon copies, relayed to the copy residing in the Demon Realm. Following a brief communication, a plan was laid down among the copies.
With the Dominator’s return and the calamity subdued, next came resolving the promotion to Level 11 issue and striking at the enemy.
...
Number 2’s expression was stiff, yet Wen Yu could faintly see the look of contemplation in his eyes.
A threat of a few words, for individuals like Wen Yu and the Demon Spirit of this level, was already akin to child’s play—initially, Wen Yu’s words to Number 2 might exert some psychological pressure, but if it was to have any real effect...
It indeed had none...
Seeing this scene, Wen Yu understood the principle that too much of anything is bad; he simply smiled and shrugged, turning to Golden Armor.
"Please send us off."
Golden Armor nodded and walked over to Wen Yu and Tang Haofei. He grabbed their hands, and with a flash of light from his body, the three figures instantly disappeared down the corridor.
...
As if standing on the border between fantasy and reality, once the teleportation ended, the three of them were already in the Commander-in-Chief’s office of Yanjing.
"I’ll take my leave."
Golden Armor spoke briefly, then vanished, as Wen Yu had no intention of keeping him for company.
At this moment, Wen Yu let out a gentle sigh, turning to look at Tang Haofei—though the issue with the Dominator was resolved, the Dominator had thrown Wen Yu a minor problem.
It was related to Tang Haofei...
Yet, Tang Haofei merely showed a thoughtful expression at this moment.
"What’s the matter?"
Wen Yu sat down at his desk, pulled out a bottle of red wine from the small refrigerator beside him and handed it to Tang Haofei, asking curiously.
"Just a feeling from before... Anyway, it’s nothing important."
Wen Yu didn’t know what Tang Haofei was thinking about—perhaps even Tang Haofei himself was uncertain about his thoughts. He merely pressed some doubts down in his heart, took the red wine, then slumped onto the sofa, surveying Wen Yu’s office space.
"Commander-in-Chief of Yanjing, huh? Your quality of life sure beats mine back in the Heavenly Palace."
Faced with Old Tang’s teasing, Wen Yu merely smiled and naturally redirected the topic to Tang Haofei.
"So, where do you plan to go next, and what do you intend to do?"
"No idea!"
After downing the expensive red wine in one gulp, Tang Haofei merely responded with a casual remark.
He truly had no idea...
The price of power had long turned Tang Haofei into neither human nor ghost—the social status and relationships built during the Tang One era had been entirely ruined by Tang Two, Tang Three, and the rest...
Now that Tang Haofei was back, it’s not just a mistake, but redundant...
Because there was no longer a place for Tang Haofei in this world!
Placing this issue before Wen Yu was a difficult decision to make—he certainly couldn’t allow Tang Haofei to run off again. At the very least, Wen Yu needed to oversee the cost of Tang Haofei’s power and the refresh of the Life and Death Battle Execution.
Nevertheless, keeping him close presented its own challenges.
After weighing his options for a moment, Wen Yu made a choice.
"Stick with me."
"Is this... alright?"
Tang Haofei clearly understood Wen Yu’s hesitation; he merely asked back, and Wen Yu only glanced at the computer first.
"It’s very much alright; stick with me."
Having received Lin Haifeng’s advice, Wen Yu’s tone was now more assured.
Hearing this, Tang Haofei immediately smiled, stood up, walked over to Wen Yu, and gave him a strong hug.
"Then, greetings to the Commander-in-Chief..."
