Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts
Chapter 1204 - 160: Us (Part 1)
The preliminary preparations didn’t take long. The Demon Spirit approached the Black River Sovereign at a time when the invasion war of a certain world was at its end — this world was called Satsu Maya, and there was nothing much to say about it. After a brief observation, Wen Yu discovered that the power of this planet was weak beyond words. Even the strongest, Sequence Number 1, could have his life ended by Wen Yu within minutes with his current strength.
After the world war ended, the highest council had distributed the Origin Energy, and the Demon Spirit came again, speaking the words "The plan begins".
Fast-forward through the memory scene, they arrived at the Demon Realm’s profile.
...
The domain of the Demon Spirit was located on the far west of the Demon Realm, adjacent to the world barrier, much like the Desolate Border.
Unlike Bai who exerted great effort to infiltrate, the Demon Spirit’s infiltration could even be considered open and aboveboard... it couldn’t even be called infiltration; it was like a leisurely tour!
In the eyes of the Black River Sovereign, the Demon Spirit merely waved his hand in front of the world barrier, after which a large gap immediately opened up, and the two sequentially entered the Demon Realm’s profile.
Indeed, the so-called plan involved only the Demon Spirit and the Black River Sovereign...
The Black River Sovereign, already ensnared in the trap of "power, rights", paid no mind to these small details, following the Demon Spirit all the way to the Demon Palace. However, in the memory of the Black River Sovereign, their journey was not quite the same as Bai’s.
The environment was identical, yet the ubiquitous Soul Puppet variants were nowhere to be found — the Black River Sovereign didn’t even lay eyes on a single one.
Seeing this scene, Wen Yu already had a suspicion — these Soul Puppet variants were indeed the devious creations of the Demon Spirit.
...
Their method of infiltrating the Demon Palace was again different from Bai’s — there was no reliance on the Devourer; they openly flew to the edge of the Demon Palace, after which the Demon Spirit intervened, opening a passage leading inside.
The commonality was that the entry point for both was the garbage dump on the Basement Level 999. At this point, the Demon Spirit finally opened his mouth to explain the ultimate goal of this plan.
"This is the Demon Palace, you should know that, right?"
"Of course..."
The Black River Sovereign looked around and at the starlight shining in the garbage dump, and only after a while did he laugh: "I just didn’t expect the Demon Lord’s abode to look like this, and this garbage dump you mentioned does seem quite dangerous."
The Black River Sovereign keenly noticed the spatial undercurrents in the garbage dump — a single misstep, and one could be transported to a different area of the Demon Palace.
The Demon Palace was a place the Black River Sovereign had naturally visited after becoming one of the top seven in the Demon Clan Army. Led by Philip, he had listened to the Demon Lord’s admonitions. The location at that time was within the Demon Palace; however, what the Black River Sovereign observed was only an open field and a fortress. He never realized the Demon Palace also had such a large hidden space.
In the Black River Sovereign’s memory, there was no information on the layout of the Demon Palace — he only knew that the Demon Lord’s abode was called the Demon Palace, with no further intelligence on it... This wasn’t because the Black River Sovereign didn’t want to know; it was simply that he had no means to know. Combining this with the Black River Sovereign’s memory, Wen Yu realized that the Demon Palace and the Demon Realm were practically two worlds — the details of the Demon Palace were entirely unknown to the inhabitants of the Demon Realm — the Demon Spirit knew, perhaps Philip also knew, but beyond them, no one else knew this secret. As for the demons living within the Demon Palace, they had a scant understanding of the outside world — they only knew there was another world outside, and that was all.
The Demon Palace divides the entire Demon Tribe into two!
As if having guessed the thoughts of the Black River Sovereign, the Demon Spirit simply waved his hand, and suddenly, a light projection appeared in the air. This light projection was spherical, yet inside, it was divided into large and small areas.
"This is the general layout of the Demon Palace. After the Great Cataclysm, the Demon Realm’s Core collapsed, and the Demon Palace took over its role to sustain Riyarda’s existence. All of this you should know already, although you might not know that this Demon Palace has other uses."
The Demon Spirit mentioned this briefly and then stopped discussing the matter. He simply pointed to the top of the light projection and said to the Black River Sovereign.
"The Demon Palace is divided into 1998 levels, the top 999 levels and the bottom 999 levels. The Demon Palace we usually encounter — yes, the one you have seen, is located on the 999th top level, at the very top, which is also the Demon Lord’s residence. Our goal this time is the 999th bottom level, known as the Origin Pool. The Origin Pool contains a tremendous amount of Origin Energy. Half of the Origin Energy we obtained from the wars is injected into the Origin Pool to sustain the continuance of the Demon Tribe."
"Once there, you can absorb as much Origin Energy as you want and choose how strong you want to become!"
Hearing this, the eyes of the Black River Sovereign lit up immediately — although there is a moral inconsistency in taking the Origin Energy from his own home planet, who cares? The Black River Sovereign only wanted to take half, not everything...
Yes, just half... he wasn’t "greedy".
...
The Demon Spirit’s explanation of the layout of the Demon Palace matched the information Wen Yu had. He did not deceive the Black River Sovereign here.
After saying all this, the Demon Spirit lightly waved his hand. The next second, light flickered across his body, and dozens of figures identical in appearance to the Demon Spirit emerged from within him, rapidly dispersing in all directions and being teleported to unknown places by the spatial channels within the garbage dump.
Seeing this scene, the Black River Sovereign’s eyes flashed — each of the Demon Spirit’s split-off figures had an aura identical to that of the Demon Spirit’s original body. Although this could not prove that their combat abilities could match the main body, it gave the Black River Sovereign a glimpse that the Demon Spirit’s true strength was not as weak as it appeared.
The Demon Spirit nodded towards the Black River Sovereign: "They are responsible for attracting the attention of the Demon Palace, allowing us to be somewhat safer."
To this, the Black River Sovereign naturally had to follow the Demon Spirit’s arrangement, just as Bai did with Wen Yu. Having entered an unfamiliar place, speaking less, asking more, observing more, and listening to others’ plans is never wrong.
After completing all this, the Demon Spirit finally led the Black River Sovereign into another passage.
Accompanied by a flash of teleportation light, the two arrived directly at the Demon Palace Basement Level 114...
The simple teleportation was without any mishap, yet Wen Yu noticed that the Demon Spirit’s teleportation differed from Bai’s — he and the Black River Sovereign were not separated.
The Black River Sovereign was completely unsuspecting, and he merely followed the Demon Spirit, hidden within the Demon Palace, stealthily creeping downward.
