Chapter 1182 - 138: Inside the Belly

Wen Yu finally understood what Bai meant by "sending us to the target destination."

The Devourer cleanly devoured the small island, then twisted its body and shot into the distance, as effortlessly as if it had eaten a peanut. However, Wen Yu, who was swallowed into the Devourer’s belly, was not in such a pleasant situation.

The rapid descent caused some discomfort for Wen Yu, and his mouth and nose were filled with the smell of gunpowder. The Devourer’s breath was quite heavy, and the environment inside its mouth was rather harsh. The continuously secreted mucus around its oral cavity was highly corrosive. Wen Yu could even see the small island he had just set foot on being continuously corroded and digested in this mucus, eventually turning into the mucus itself.

However, this bit of harsh environment naturally did not cause much impact on Wen Yu. As he sorted through the events that had just occurred in his mind, Wen Yu understood Bai’s intention—having this guy take them to the target destination was far easier than fighting their way there.

This Devourer’s flesh and bone structure was different from any creature Wen Yu had seen before. His perception ability rapidly expanded, easily penetrating the Devourer’s membrane and reaching out to the outside world. Molten lava entered Wen Yu’s perception range, and from time to time, he could even sense the presence of other creatures living there—like riding an underwater sightseeing submarine.

Relaxed, leisurely, it was far better than the first half of the journey.

Without needing to engage in life-and-death battles with those strange creatures, Wen Yu naturally enjoyed the leisure. After a while, Wen Yu decided to abandon the hook, landing on his feet, stepping on the lower mouth of the Devourer, and walking step by step toward the depths of the Devourer’s body.

There was nothing but emptiness around him, and as Wen Yu got closer to the Devourer’s abdomen, the pull also gradually weakened. Strangely enough, the Devourer’s body structure was akin to a long cylindrical tube, devoid of any elements other than external skin, nothing but mucus everywhere. His pace quickened, and after walking for about ten minutes, arriving at about two-thirds of the Devourer’s body, he halted in front of a vast lake.

Bai’s expression was indifferent, as this loss was likely within their expectations.
