Apocalypse: King of Zombies
Chapter 1613 - 1613: This Is Your War
Abyron had been stronger than his opponent from the start and had maintained the upper hand throughout their fight. Once the marked woman joined him, they overwhelmed the Voltari completely. Barring the unexpected, he would soon become the first Tier 47 Voltari to fall.
But Ethan still wasn't satisfied with their speed.
He had no idea how long it would take the escaped Voltari to return with reinforcements. They had to finish this faster.
"Dire Bear, help them out!" Ethan called.
The Dire Bear and Frostfox also held an overwhelming advantage, but killing their opponent would still take time. Ethan decided to concentrate their forces instead.
"You got it."
The Dire Bear left Frostfox and joined Abyron's fight.
With three against one, the battle went from one-sided to an outright slaughter.
Facing three opponents of the same Tier, the Voltari quickly lost any chance to fight back. All he could do was maintain a shield of crackling lightning and struggle to hold out.
Then Ethan appeared nearby.
Light flashed in his eyes as he used Silencing Gaze. The lightning shield, which required a constant supply of mental energy, collapsed immediately.
Without that final line of defense, the Voltari was quickly killed by the three Tier 47 fighters.
"Don't waste any time. Help the others!" Ethan ordered.
"Got it!"
The three immediately rushed toward the Voltari Frostfox had been holding back.
Ethan stored the dead Tier 47 Voltari in his spatial storage ring.
This would have those Tier 47 Outland Beasts eating out of his hand. Once he fed them something this good, they'd practically worship him.
He flew down and collected the other Stage SSS corpses scattered across the battlefield as well.
These bodies would be enough to raise an entire group of powerful Outland Beasts.
He no longer needed to worry about the fighting overhead. Their advantage was snowballing.
Three Tier 47 fighters had ganged up on one opponent. Now four of them descended on the next, making the fight even easier. It wasn't long before that Voltari fell as well.
Then it became five against one.
Soon, every Tier 47 Voltari had been killed. Only the two at peak Tier 47 were still struggling.
After watching his most capable subordinates die one after another, panic finally appeared on the Voltari Patriarch's face.
The leader of the race that had dominated an entire world was finally afraid.
If he had known this world was so dangerous, he never would have come here.
Ethan didn't care about his regrets. Once the other Tier 47 Voltari were dead, he sent everyone to assist the Beast Sovereign.
The Patriarch's wife had already been losing to the Beast Sovereign. Once the other Tier 47 fighters joined in, she could barely defend herself.
The Patriarch tried to help her, but Theron blocked him at every turn.
"Get out of my way!" the Voltari Patriarch roared.
His fury had no effect on Theron, who refused to yield even a single step.
"Damn you!"
The Patriarch finally lost all control and launched a frenzied assault.
But no matter how desperately he attacked, he couldn't kill another peak Tier 47 fighter in such a short time.
It wasn't long before his wife was beaten to death by the group.
The moment she fell, all the strength seemed to drain from the Voltari Patriarch. He collapsed to the ground.
He had never imagined that the race that ruled an entire world could meet such a miserable end.
His wife was dead. All his strongest subordinates were dead.
He knew he wouldn't survive either.
"Heh..."
"Hahaha..."
The Voltari Patriarch laughed like a madman, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at the surrounding fighters.
Just then, a large group appeared in the distance, flying toward them at incredible speed.
"Patriarch! I brought reinforcements—"
It was the Voltari who had escaped earlier.
But when he drew close enough to see the battlefield, he froze.
"How did this happen...?"
He hadn't wasted a moment. As soon as he returned to their world, he had gathered every Stage SSS fighter from his race. He'd even summoned the strongest fighters of the other races who lived near the passage. He hadn't dared waste time reaching out to anyone farther away and had rushed straight back.
Yet he was still too late.
"Take them... and go!" the Voltari Patriarch roared.
The escaped Voltari had brought more than thirty Stage SSS fighters, but most of them were Tier 44 or below. Only two were Tier 47.
If they had arrived earlier, they might have turned the battle around.
Now they were useless. All the high-Tier Voltari were already dead. What could these reinforcements possibly accomplish?
"Patriarch..."
"Get out of here!"
"No!"
"Fight them! Cover the Patriarch's escape!" the Voltari shouted.
The Voltari Stage SSS fighters charged, attempting to rescue their Patriarch.
The fighters from the other races, however, didn't move.
That included the two Tier 47s.
All the high-Tier Voltari had already been on the battlefield. Those two had come from other races.
If the Voltari still held the advantage, the other races wouldn't have dared refuse to help. The Voltari had ruled Dawnreach for many years, and no one dared disobey their commands.
But now, only the Patriarch remained from the Voltari's entire group of high-Tier fighters.
This was the perfect opportunity to overthrow them. Why would the other races throw it away by coming to their aid?
"What do you think you're doing?" the Voltari who had brought them demanded, his face darkening.
"This is your war. We won't get involved."
With that, the fighters from the other races turned and fled.
Anyone capable of crushing the Voltari this badly was far beyond anything they could afford to provoke. If they didn't run now, they might not get another chance.
"You...!" The Voltari glared after them, furious.
"All of you, get out of here!" the Patriarch roared again.
"Enough. They're not going anywhere," Ethan said calmly.
He hadn't sent anyone after the other Void Realm races. There were too many of them to wipe out, and he could tell they weren't truly allied with the Voltari, so he had allowed them to leave.
The Voltari were another matter.
They had already made enemies of each other. Ethan had no intention of leaving survivors who might come back for revenge.
Still, the Voltari race was terrifyingly powerful. Even now, they had more than twenty Stage SSS fighters left.
Including those Ethan's group had already killed, a single race had possessed more than thirty Stage SSS fighters.
The world they came from was clearly far stronger than the Eldoria Continent.
"Go!" the Voltari Patriarch roared one last time before charging the enemy himself.
Arrogant and overbearing though he was, he had at least proven himself worthy of leading his people.
"Beast Sovereign, keep him occupied!" Ethan shouted. "Everyone else, attack!"
"Don't let a single one of them escape!"
