Chapter 437: Chapter 437: Bestowing a Superpower

"Alright~" Lily Hart’s voice lilted as she gave him a meaningful glance.

She was suddenly in the mood to tease him. All it took was a single look, and he couldn’t handle it.

’Good grief, where’s the sense of accomplishment in that?!’

When Roman Rowe let her go again, Lily Hart’s gaze drifted downward. A very noticeable bulge was tenting his pants.

"Are you sure... you don’t need to go cool down?" Lily Hart said slowly, a hint of provocation in her eyes.

Roman Rowe took a deep breath, but it was no use. He scrambled to his feet, bent over to hide himself, and hurried toward the bathroom.

A moment later, the SPLASHING sound of running water came from the bathroom.

Lily Hart grinned from ear to ear. ’Men. Besides *that*, their mouths are the only hard thing on them.’

By the time they were done with their shenanigans, it was already twelve o’clock. Frost Shaw and the others started to arrive, only to find the kitchen completely empty.

Not only had no food been prepped, but even the rice hadn’t been cooked. None of the vegetables or meat had even been taken out.

Owen Warren asked in confusion, "Who was supposed to cook today? What’s going on?"

Lily Hart said nothing, just suppressed a laugh and pretended she didn’t know anything.

Leo Colby recalled, "Wasn’t it Roman Rowe? Where is he? And I think Seth, too?"

Seth wasn’t around, and neither was Roman Rowe. Everyone just assumed the two of them had been too busy and forgot to cook.

No one gave it much thought, except for Frost Shaw, who seemed lost in thought.

"Forget it, let’s not cook today. I’ll order something," Lily Hart said.

With that, she quickly placed an order for her favorites and some dishes that everyone liked.

CREAK— The bathroom door opened, and all eyes immediately swiveled toward it.

They all landed on Roman Rowe, who had just emerged, his face beet red and his hair sopping wet.

Frost Shaw blurted out, "What were you doing in there? Taking a shower?"

Roman Rowe didn’t know how to explain. He couldn’t just admit that he’d gotten so worked up from kissing Lily Hart that he couldn’t get it down and had to take a cold shower to calm himself, could he?

He figured that kind of confession would probably earn him the hatred of every man present.

As a man himself, he knew exactly what they were thinking. Every single one of them was after Boss Hart!

They might act like perfect gentlemen on the surface, but in reality, they all liked Boss Hart!

He knew it all! And that was exactly why Roman Rowe would never let them find out!

He went along with Frost Shaw’s words, nodding and saying matter-of-factly, "Yeah, I took a shower."

They were about to ask why he’d randomly take a shower, but Roman Rowe cut them off, urging, "The food’s here! Let’s eat, I’m starving!"

Their attention was diverted. Everyone headed for the dining table, which was laden with food.

Lily Hart gave Roman Rowe a thumbs-up look before getting up and walking to the table.

That small gesture was caught by several people, who all unconsciously started to wonder about the reason behind it.

Men just overthink things, their minds so full of schemes. And they’re petty, too.

The men all sat down with various thoughts swirling in their heads, while only Lily Hart and Roman Rowe had eyes filled with a desire for good food.

"Dig in!" Lily Hart raised her chopsticks and picked up a piece of stir-fried beef.

The tender, spicy beef paired with fragrant rice was exceptionally delicious—a five-star combination for whetting the appetite!

But aside from Lily Hart and Roman Rowe, who had hearty appetites, the others seemed a bit out of it.

Even so, they still managed to clean out the entire table of food. Their capabilities were formidable, needless to say.

After the meal, Roman Rowe cleared the dishes and tried to stay, constantly shooting glances at Lily Hart.

She pretended not to see. ’Good grief, indulging in carnal pleasures at night is one thing, and indulging in them in the morning is another...’

’But how can he be obsessed all day long? It’s just outrageous!’

Lily Hart cruelly rejected his silent request to stay and sent him on his way.

Then she began her daily work: zoning out or looking among the customers to see if anyone had scratched off an interesting prize.

And just then, a man right in front of her had a look of unconcealable surprise and shock on his face.

She was curious too. What could it be? After all, he was holding a little black stone.

The long-unseen little black stone. A little black stone usually meant the prize was anything but simple.

For example, previous prizes like "Duplication" and "Superpower Enhancement" had both been accompanied by the appearance of a little black stone.

So she leaned out and patted the man on the shoulder. "Hey, what’s your prize?"

The man’s expression instinctively darkened, trying to look fierce. He spun around aggressively. "None of your—"

But then he came face-to-face with Lily Hart’s sweet, smiling face. His expression immediately crumbled, softening in an instant.

"This prize I got, hehe, it’s amazing!" the man said cheerfully.

He felt no need to hide anything from Lily Hart and decided to spill everything.

Hearing him say that made Lily Hart even more curious. "So what is the prize?" ’Actually, I could just check on the Light Brain.’

’But I prefer talking to people face-to-face.’

"It’s... Grant Superpower!" The man leaned closer to her, whispering as if afraid someone else might hear.

But Lily Hart heard him clearly. She was just a bit puzzled. "Grant Superpower? Is it random? Or can you choose one?"

The man shook his head, indicating he didn’t know. But he was already a superpower user himself. Could this mean he was about to get a second superpower?

This was completely unprecedented!

After the apocalypse began, superpower users were divided into two types.

One type was like Frost Shaw, with Ice Element, Thunder Element, speed, phasing through walls, or all sorts of other strange abilities.

The other type’s powers would strengthen their bodies, making all their limbs comprehensively stronger.

Both were collectively called superpower users, but there were more specific classifications. The former were called Illusionists, and the latter were called Strong Ability Users.

You could tell just by the names, right? The former were Mages, the latter warriors.

Although both were superpower users, almost all bases placed more importance on Illusionists, as they often had a greater impact.

And this man was a Strong Ability User. If this stone could turn him into an Illusionist... wow, that would be awesome!

Even though he hadn’t even started, it didn’t stop the man from indulging in some happy daydreams.

Lily Hart was curious, too. What kind of superpower would it grant?

She urged the man, "Quick, get started!"

Encouraged, the man nodded emphatically and immediately followed the instructions on the stone.

First, he closed his eyes, held the stone in both hands, and pressed it to his forehead. It looked pretty cringey, right?

The next part was even cringier. The man had to silently chant, ’Please, O stone, grant me a superpower!’

Lily Hart: ...Speechless.

Immediately after, the stone transformed into a beam of white light and shot into the center of the man’s forehead.

The man opened his eyes in a daze. Lily Hart asked, "How is it? Do you feel anything?"

He shook his head, still dazed, and focused on sensing any changes within his body. It seemed like... there weren’t any.

"I don’t know. I don’t feel anything, but that can’t be right!" The man continued to focus, agitated, and casually grabbed a scratch-off ticket in front of him.

For some reason, the scratch-off ticket in the man’s hand gradually petrified, turning into something like a thin brick, though it still looked as light as a feather.

The two of them exchanged a glance. The man’s eyes lit up, but just as he was about to speak, Lily Hart cut him off.

"Whatever the reason, you’re paying for that one," Lily Hart said mercilessly.

The man was too excited to care about that. He nodded eagerly. "Of course! But I think my superpower is... turning things to stone!"

Lily Hart understood. "The kind where whatever you touch turns to stone?"
