Chapter 367: Chapter 367: Molly Mason

Things were always breaking down in the base. There were people who knew how to fix them, but they lacked the tools.

The woman finished her tour, feeling a bit dazzled. The selection was incredibly complete, with all sorts of gadgets, yet there was order amidst the chaos.

Everything was even sorted into categories, and below each product was brief information like its name and price.

It was all clear at a glance.

Otherwise, with thousands of products, she would never be able to recognize them all, let alone set their prices.

Lily Hart was waiting for her at the checkout counter. Seeing the pleasant surprise on the woman’s face, she knew she was very satisfied.

Without wasting any more time, she got straight to the important instructions.

For example, one Level 1 Crystal Core could be exchanged for 100 points, and all products in the store were priced in points.

For example, the Lucky Cat was equivalent to a cash register and an exchange machine.

When a customer checked out, they would insert Crystal Cores, which would automatically be converted into points. Any excess would be deposited into their personal account.

And the points in this account could be used at any of Lily Hart’s stores.

The woman nodded, showing she understood.

She already had a basic understanding from shopping at these stores before.

Lily Hart felt that was about enough and said her goodbyes. "Alright, you get yourself familiar with everything. For meals, you can go to the convenience store, the factory, or the hot pot restaurant. You get an employee discount, you know~"

Hearing this, the woman nodded even more enthusiastically.

Lily Hart started to walk out. After a few steps, she remembered something and turned back to ask, "Oh, I forgot to ask, what’s your name...?"

The woman also just remembered she hadn’t introduced herself. She immediately said, very formally, "My name is Molly Mason. You can just call me Molly."

"...What a cute name. Hello, Molly. I’m Lily Hart. You can just call me Lily," Lily Hart said with a smile.

Molly Mason froze, a flicker of emotion in her eyes. She unconsciously clasped her hands together.

Her hair reached her shoulders, but it was dry and brittle, with an unhealthy yellow tint. Her bangs hung above her eyes, uneven from having not been trimmed in a while.

But paired with her beautiful eyes, it gave her an unexpected bit of playful charm.

Lily Hart waved. "I’m heading out now~ Contact me if you need anything."

After the two exchanged contact information, Lily Hart left, and Molly Mason went back into the hardware store.

She wanted to quickly familiarize herself with the placement and prices of all the products so that when customers came, she could find things immediately and not cause any delays.

Lily Hart returned to the lottery ticket shop and sat there, bored.

Although it wasn’t dinnertime yet, she had a craving and went to the convenience store to find some snacks.

Dried tofu, konjac snacks, spicy chips, small sausages, pistachios...

She grabbed whatever looked tasty, taking a bit too much. Her arms couldn’t hold it all, and some of it fell to the floor.

Frost Shaw saw this, hurried to get a shopping basket, and helped her pick them up off the floor.

They were all small snacks, and Lily Hart had grabbed them by the handful without paying attention to the quantity. Now, picking them up was a bit annoying.

The store was crowded with other shoppers, all rushing to get their things, completely oblivious to the two people squatting on the floor.

Frost Shaw had to watch out for people bumping into Lily Hart while also trying to quickly pick up the snacks. He felt like he couldn’t be in two places at once.

In his haste, he accidentally grabbed Lily Hart’s finger, mistook it for some kind of sausage, and subconsciously started to put it in the shopping basket.

Only after trying to drop it in did he realize something was wrong. He stared down, dumbfounded.

He met Lily Hart’s speechless gaze. Looking down further, he saw his thumb and index finger pinching her pinky finger.

He quickly let go. Just as he was about to try and play it off, he caught sight of someone slipping out of the corner of his eye.

And they were heading right in their direction...

Frost Shaw had no time for apologies. He swiftly switched his grip to her wrist and pulled her to her feet.

His other hand reached out to protect her waist, resting lightly on it.

In that instant, Frost Shaw felt himself enveloped by a faint, pleasant scent. His eyes fell on her earlobe, as smooth and lustrous as jade.

Then he saw the person fall heavily against a shelf, knocking the entire row over and sending products scattering everywhere.

Lily Hart was still processing the fact that she had been squatting on the floor picking up snacks when Frost Shaw had suddenly pulled her up.

She found herself in his arms, and then came a loud CRASH from behind her, along with the sound of countless snacks scattering.

Lily Hart looked back to see a complete mess. If Frost Shaw hadn’t pulled her up in time...

She probably would have been buried under that pile of snacks. Frost Shaw naturally moved her behind him.

He then led her to a safe area, away from the chaotic crowd, and conveniently placed the basket of snacks she had just picked out beside her.

"You rest for a bit. I’ll go take care of this," Frost Shaw said before turning and walking away.

Lily Hart was still a bit dazed. She looked at the basket of snacks beside her, then at his retreating back.

’A time like this, and he’s still thinking about the snacks!’

Frost Shaw first dispersed the onlookers, then had the person who slipped set the shelf back up.

Picking up the scattered snacks, sorting them, and putting them back in their original places would finish the job. It was simple, just a bit time-consuming.

Lily Hart sat at the checkout counter, a little idle, her mind occasionally replaying the scene of Frost Shaw pulling her up.

’Hmm, he’s strong, and it had a great atmosphere. He even knew to protect my waist.’

’It would have been perfect if there was a slow-motion replay.’

After replaying it two or three times, Lily Hart finally remembered her original purpose.

’Oh, right, snacks.’ She grabbed something from the basket beside her, tore open the packaging, and stuffed it into her mouth.

Once everything was sorted, Frost Shaw came over. He saw her staring blankly into space, as if her soul had been possessed, slowly nibbling on a sausage.

The scene was quite funny. Frost Shaw stood there watching for a moment before he could bring himself to walk over.

He waved a hand in front of her eyes. Lily Hart looked at him, her own eyes lighting up. "Is everything taken care of?"

"Yeah, it’s done. How was your day? Did everything go smoothly?" He was just making small talk.

Lily Hart took another bite of her sausage and said, "It was great! I even scratched off a first prize: a hardware store! I have a feeling it’ll be a huge help later!"

Frost Shaw had been with Lily Hart for some time now. Hearing her say this, he felt a surge of anticipation as his gaze met her sparkling eyes.

A shared thought struck them both, and they said in unison: "Weapons!"

Lily Hart giggled and nodded repeatedly. "Exactly!"

Frost Shaw grinned as well. If that was the case, it would be fantastic. Not only could they eat their fill, but they could also beat the zombies into submission!

How could they worry about humanity not having a future?

Lily Hart glanced at the time. It was almost five o’clock. She dusted herself off and stood up.

"I’m heading back for now. I’ll be back for dinner," Lily Hart said, then left, swinging the shopping basket as she went.

"Okay." Frost Shaw leaned against the door, watching her until she entered the lottery ticket shop.

From a shop away, Frost Shaw’s gaze met Roman Rowe’s, who was standing at the entrance of the clinic. The distance wasn’t great, but they couldn’t make out each other’s expressions.

But both of them felt that the other was glaring at them.

When it was almost time for dinner, the first thing Roman Rowe did after boarding the RV was to find Frost Shaw. Once he found him, he shot him a fierce glare.

Sure enough, he glared back. Roman Rowe knew it! ’That look he gave earlier wasn’t a friendly one!’

Although Frost Shaw was a little confused, that didn’t stop him from glaring right back.

The two stared at each other for a good while before Roman Rowe suddenly asked, "What was Boss Hart doing at your convenience store?"

’When I was at the convenience store, Lily never came by. Now that I’m gone, she’s visiting all the time.’

Frost Shaw put on an enigmatic expression. "I’m not telling you."

"Hmph!" Roman Rowe rolled his eyes so hard they nearly reached the heavens. "If you won’t tell me, I’ll just go ask Boss Hart myself~"
