Chapter 356: Chapter 356: Felix Carter

Lily Hart let out a sigh of relief. The man was chatty, but at least he wasn’t an idiot—he could understand simple instructions.

’After all that talk, I still don’t even know his name.’

Lily Hart checked the winner’s log. Oh, so his name was Donnie. ’What a cute name,’ she thought.

Now it was time to see what Donnie would do.

Lily Hart didn’t get to see what Donnie would do. Instead, the Base Commander of Phanfly Base arrived—a somewhat short, thin man who was starting to go bald.

The two of them skipped the pleasantries and went straight to the meeting room.

He introduced himself. "Boss Hart, a pleasure. I’m Felix Carter, the Base Commander of Phanfly."

Lily Hart nodded. ’Don’t tell me he also wants to get rid of his material exchange point.’ 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

’If they keep closing them, The Mysterious Clan’s hatred for me is going to level up again!’

Sure enough, Felix Carter’s next words were, "I heard from Zane Miller that he shut down the material exchange point in his base and started procuring supplies from you instead."

"Not only is it cheaper, but you have whatever we need, in any quantity. We don’t have to suck up to those sons of bitches anymore. They’re always shorting our supplies. It’s not like we don’t pay them in Crystal Cores. Just a bunch of cheapskates."

Hearing this, Lily Hart had to agree. ’Yeah, those people are animals. Better to just shut them down.’

"So, you also want to...?" Lily Hart tilted her head, raising an eyebrow at him with a thoughtful expression.

"Yes, I also want to shut down the material exchange point and procure supplies from you. I’ve already gotten the details on pricing and everything from Zane Miller. Also, could you send me the applet for the online supermarket?" Felix Carter asked earnestly.

Seeing how determined he was, Lily Hart didn’t try to dissuade him. ’He’s already made up his mind, what’s the point in arguing?’

’Besides, I’m making money from this, too...’

After they exchanged contact information, Lily Hart sent him the applet for the online supermarket.

She added a warning, "The prices on here are double what they are in the physical store, so purchase with caution."

Felix Carter said he understood. He’d heard that purchases arrived instantly, so the technology fees and transportation fees were all part of the cost.

They wrapped up their conversation quickly. Felix Carter departed immediately, heading back to his base to draw up a list and start the process of shutting down the exchange point.

Little did he know, the closing of this material exchange point would cause a massive stir within The Mysterious Clan.

By closing time, no one else had won the first prize. Lily Hart breathed a sigh of relief and prepared to head upstairs to bed.

Just then, she saw a flash of light in front of the breakfast shop. She squinted. Was that a person’s silhouette...?

’Who is that?’

"Simon Keane," the System stated abruptly.

Lily Hart jumped at the sudden voice before it registered. ’Ah, he was forcibly recalled?’

"Correct. He had almost walked all the way to Steadfast Base," the System replied, cold and detached.

’Pfft...’ Lily Hart snorted with laughter. Steadfast Base was where they had first met. ’Damn, that old man has some incredible stamina.’

Lily Hart said urgently, ’Quick, quick, pull up the surveillance footage from the breakfast shop.’

On the screen, Simon Keane looked utterly dumbfounded. He glanced left and right, completely in disbelief.

’How did I suddenly end up back here? I saw the walls of Steadfast Base! I was just about to get back to my old haunt!’

Simon Keane wanted to cry but had no tears left. He strongly suspected Lily Hart was behind this mischief!

’It has to be her!’

He refused to accept it! Simon Keane clutched his cloth bag, glanced around to make sure no one was watching, and slipped away once more.

Lily Hart, who had watched the entire thing, was about to die from laughter. ’Is it a twenty-four-hour limit?’

"Correct. He cannot leave for an extended period without your permission," the System replied.

’Ooh,’ Lily Hart mused, understanding now. She chuckled, replaying his shocked expression in her mind as she closed up the vehicle.

She had posted a poll an hour ago, and now was the perfect time to check the results before bed.

She had specifically noted that the top three shops with the most votes would be the ones to stay.

She no longer had to worry about having enough points. Seven or eight shops were now earning money for her, with her daily cut deposited right on schedule.

Plus, the automatic scratch-off machines at the bases she’d previously visited brought in a considerable daily income as well.

Everyone had had a chance to try out the various shops today.

The clinic took first place, followed by the convenience store in second, and the factory in third.

The main theme was practicality. Food, drink, daily necessities, and medical treatment—they covered all the bases.

Lily Hart first duplicated the clinic. Now there were two, which should prevent any more fights from breaking out.

With the duplication complete, Lily Hart went to sleep with peace of mind.

「The next day...」

Phanfly Base’s material exchange point was officially closed.

Residents who had hoped to get an early start exchanging supplies were met with a cold, tightly shut gate and had to return empty-handed.

"What’s going on? Why is it closed?"

"Maybe it’s not time for them to open yet?"

"No way, they usually open at eight in the morning!"

"It’s already eight-thirty, and I think their sign has been taken down too."

"I heard the ones at Prudence Base and Solara Base were shut down too."

"So how do they get their supplies?"

"Are you dense? The Base Commander will obviously procure supplies from Boss Hart. Don’t worry, they’re not going to let you starve."

"Alright, alright, stop waiting around here. Let’s go do the scratch-offs outside. It’s better than freezing our butts off here."

Everyone agreed that was a good point and took off running.

A bizarre sense of competition even broke out, with people thinking, ’I have to run faster than you!’

Lily Hart had already received Felix Carter’s procurement list that morning and forwarded it to Frost Shaw so he could get things ready.

The day was exceptionally calm. Felix Carter proved highly efficient; after receiving the supplies at noon, he immediately set up the new material exchange point in the exact same location as the old one.

It was convenient, after all, since the space and facilities were already there.

Once Lily Hart delivered the supplies Felix Carter had purchased, she washed her hands of the matter. Whatever he did with them—even if he threw them all out—was none of her business.

After dinner, Roman Rowe started scrolling through the Human Social Sphere as usual. For one, he wanted to catch up on the latest news.

For another, he wanted to see if Boss Hart had posted any updates so he could be the first to comment, like, and share—the holy trinity!

But then he spotted a trending topic: "Material Exchange Points at Major Bases Are Closing One After Another. What’s the Real Reason Behind It?"

Curious, Roman Rowe clicked on it. The more he read, the angrier he became, his fists clenching tight.

Frost Shaw, sitting right beside him, glanced over in disbelief and quickly grabbed his clenched fist.

"What are you doing? What are you looking at? Why are you so worked up?" Frost Shaw leaned in, trying to see his Light Brain.

Roman Rowe, hit with a rapid-fire series of questions, didn’t react at all. Normally, he would have been jumping out of his seat by now.

Instead, both of them grew angrier the more they read, their faces flushing red as they occasionally spat out a curse.

Roman Rowe even slammed his fist on the coffee table in a rage, muttering, "No, this is unacceptable! I have to go argue with this person! Every word they say is complete garbage!"

Frost Shaw stopped him. "Don’t be impulsive! Calm down! If you do that, you’ll just be confirming the accusations against Lily Hart."

At his words, everyone else turned to look at them.

They had all just finished dinner and were lounging on the sofa, doing nothing in a post-meal daze. His comment sobered them up instantly.

Leo Colby frowned. "What accusations?"

Owen Warren raised an eyebrow. "The accusation of farming zombies?"
