Apocalypse: I Built a City of Sin

Apocalypse — Chapter 69: The Hidden Sniper

“Fuck! Isn’t this supposed to be a rich neighborhood? Why are they all such perverts? Their twisted Daddy-and-sister games were bad enough, but they even eat people! Have they already run out of food?” Xiao Yi cursed inwardly with a frown.

After the middle-aged man left, the foolish young man began inventing new ways to torment the remaining three women.

Xiao Yi judged that the time was right. He checked his surroundings, then shot into the living room at extreme speed. The Blade of Sin flashed once, splitting the foolish young man in two.

Blood splattered across the three women’s heads and faces. Yet it was as though something wonderful had happened—they all began laughing strangely.

“You. Shout out the window: ‘The Crown Prince Gang is killing people! Help!’” Xiao Yi ordered, lifting the young woman whom the foolish man had called his little sister.

The young woman’s face filled with excitement, and her entire body trembled. She looked pleadingly at Xiao Yi before obediently shouting out the window.

“The Crown Prince Gang is killing people! Help!”

Afterward, she looked at Xiao Yi imploringly.

“I did what you asked. Will you take me with you?”

Xiao Yi looked at the other two women kneeling numbly on the floor and slowly shook his head.

“For the three of you, living is worse than dying. I’ll send you on your way.”

He swung the Blade of Sin and severed all three heads.

After placing Ma Chenbin’s ring in the foolish young man’s hand, Xiao Yi leisurely picked up Dong Haobiao’s limited-edition gold Louis Vuitton belt from the bed. Only then did he leap out the window.

Part of the reason Xiao Yi killed the three women was to free them from their suffering. More importantly, he feared they would leak information and ruin his plan.

Besides, women who had already been broken like that possessed no value to him.

Every kind of perversion could emerge during an apocalypse. What this father and son had done was merely one stripe on the wild beast the world had become.

And this was a wealthy community that still possessed water, electricity, and food.

Who knew what depravity was unfolding in shelters with scarce supplies?

During the apocalypse, the ugliness of human nature would be magnified to its absolute limit.

In such an environment, only a powerful villain who was cold and merciless was truly suited to survival.

Without strength, you could only become someone else’s slave or food.

With strength but without ruthlessness, you would become the target of someone else’s schemes.

Only by possessing both could someone become powerful in the apocalypse.

Xiao Yi did not pity those three women in the slightest.

They lacked strength and did not even have the courage to fight to the death.

They had only endured passively and numbly.

They placed all their hope in begging others to help them.

For people like that, death was the best ending the apocalypse could offer.

The Lily New City villa district consisted of three residential zones. Apart from the eastern and western districts, there was also a southern district.

Ma Chenbin’s map contained very little information about the south. It merely said that the people living there were all important figures and that no one knew what resources they possessed. Several formidable bodyguards who had already made names for themselves before the apocalypse were enough to keep Ma Chenbin’s group from provoking them.

The southern district was therefore largely unknown even to the Crown Prince Gang.

It had the most survivors of the three districts. The mutant, Dr. Zhu, and the others were all there as well.

Using the lights to count, Xiao Yi estimated that more than twenty villas were occupied.

Not long after entering the southern district, he encountered a fully armed patrol.

The patrol had four members. Each wore a complete set of SWAT equipment: body armor, balaclava, helmet, combat boots, tactical vest, and night-vision goggles.

Their weapons were also far superior to those carried by the Crown Prince Gang. Xiao Yi had always been a military enthusiast and recognized them at a glance.

The first two carried Type 95 assault rifles.

The third carried a suppressed Type 05 submachine gun, while the last held a Type 97 riot shotgun.

Apart from a Type 88 sniper rifle, they possessed almost every standard weapon used by a SWAT unit.

“This is bad!”

Xiao Yi immediately realized the danger of his situation.

It was not that these people lacked a Type 88 sniper rifle.

The person carrying it was hidden!

That sniper was watching the entire southern district from the darkness above.

Xiao Yi had to find the sniper. Otherwise, one unexpected shot to the head would kill him no matter how overpowered his System made him.

Xiao Yi concealed himself within a landscaped greenbelt, narrowed his eyes, and scanned the surroundings.

His Constitution had already reached 100. Even at night, he could clearly see anything within a kilometer.

But the villa district contained too many blind spots. He had no way to determine where the sniper was hiding.

“I need to create trouble for them and force the sniper to reveal himself!”

After thinking for a moment, Xiao Yi slipped into a nearby villa with its lights on.
