Apocalypse — Chapter 51: The Upgraded Blade of Sin

Xiao Yi’s understanding of this organization was limited now. But he could be sure of one thing. This crew not only had plenty of weapons and ammunition in their hands, they also had organization and discipline.

They might even have a hidden shelter!

For him to charge their camp alone now was clearly not a smart choice.

After all he was still flesh and blood. He still feared attacks from hot weapons.

But the time to settle the account with these people was not far off.

The moment Apocalypse Coins hit 300 and he summoned the Slaughterer Armored Vehicle would be the moment this pack of people went to hell!

With the Slaughterer Armored Vehicle, Xiao Yi did not care what kind of camp the other side had. He would just drive the armor over and flatten them!

Even if he could not win, with the armored vehicle’s protection Xiao Yi could at least pull back safe.

As for now, he had to find a way to get Apocalypse Coins as fast as possible.

After summoning the Hunter Repeating Crossbow just now, the remaining Apocalypse Coins had all been used on bolts. The Apocalypse Coins left now were already 0.

Ordinary zombies added Apocalypse Coins too slowly. He had to hunt more C-rank zombies as fast as he could!

Xiao Yi did a simple count.

Burying one C-rank zombie could produce 20 to 30 Apocalypse Coins.

With decent luck, he would need to bury a little over ten, and he could produce 300 Apocalypse Coins.

Burying one C-rank zombie took two hours. Right now he had two Level-2 Tombs that could bury.

If he had enough C-rank zombies, plus the Apocalypse Coins produced by burying ordinary zombies, it would only take about one day to have enough Apocalypse Coins to summon the Slaughterer Armored Vehicle.

If he worked through the night, he could have enough Apocalypse Coins before noon tomorrow!

This speed was not slow!

Right now he was only short a few C-rank zombies!

Xiao Yi sprang off the wall-tower and skimmed fast toward a residential block with more zombies.

He wanted to collect as many C-rank zombies as he could and raise his own strength fast!

Xiao Yi was a man who collected every slight. For him, a gentleman had no overnight feud. Since the other side had provoked him, he was going to wipe them out in the shortest time at the fastest speed!

After fighting hard through most of the night, even Xiao Yi’s body past ninety in every stat was having a little trouble holding up.

He dumped more than ten C-rank zombie corpses on the women, dragged his exhausted body back into the Dark Castle, and dropped onto the bed face-down and slept.

“Ding! C-rank zombie burial complete!”

“Apocalypse Coins +25.”

“Agility +3.”

“Constitution +1.”

“Stamina +1.”

“Material obtained: Bio-Claw.”

“The Level-2 Tomb is now empty. Please bury again.”

“Ding! C-rank zombie burial complete!”

“…”

“Congratulations, Host. Strength and Agility have reached the peak of the human limit!”

A string of electronic tones woke Xiao Yi, who had already finished resting.

Xiao Yi sat up and looked at the light. It was already noon now.

“System! Pull up my attributes!”

【City of Sin (Intermediate) — City Lord: Xiao Yi】

【Sex: Male】

【Constitution: 92】

【Spirit: 70】

【Strength: 100】

【Stamina: 93】

【Agility: 100】

(Adult male human average: 60)

【Skills: Xingyiquan Mastery.】

【Items: Blade of Sin (Beginner), Spatial Pouch (Beginner)】

【Materials: Bio-Claw ×6, Bio-Demon Whisker ×5.】

【Apocalypse Coins: 308】

“Strength and Agility have both already reached the human limit?”

Looking at the Strength and Agility that had already hit 100, Xiao Yi was quite satisfied.

His Strength and Agility now had already reached the human limit.

That was to say, if Xiao Yi went to an Olympic competition now in weightlifting or running or high jump and things like that, he could completely bully the other athletes with ease.

Even those world-class records could be broken easily.

“System, after attribute points hit 100, can they still increase?” Xiao Yi asked, a little curious.

Since 100 attribute points were the human limit, did that mean he would not be able to increase attribute points anymore after this?

【Burying B-rank zombies can continue to increase attributes.】

【100 attribute points are already the human limit. Past 100, you will enter the Transcendent tier.】

Past a hundred, that was the Transcendent tier?

In other words, a superhuman?

Xiao Yi’s pupils tightened slightly.

Those two words, superhuman, were full of temptation for him.

A human body was too weak after all. Even at the limit, in this apocalypse it might not be absolutely safe.

【Correct. The Transcendent tier is existence beyond the human. Entering the Transcendent tier will grant a Transcendent ability.】

This lifted Xiao Yi’s spirits some. Entering the Transcendent tier would grant a Transcendent ability.

“What kind of ability is a Transcendent ability?” Xiao Yi pressed, a little excited.

A Transcendent ability—just hearing the name, it felt incomparably powerful.

【Apologies, Host. The Transcendent ability cannot be disclosed yet.】

【The Transcendent ability column unlocks only upon reaching the Transcendent tier.】

“Fine.” Xiao Yi nodded, resigned, and went on giving the System an order. “Upgrade the Blade of Sin!”

The number of Bio-Claws and the number of Bio-Demon Whiskers were already enough to upgrade the Blade of Sin.

【Upgrade conditions already met. Upgrade requirements satisfied.】

【Consuming Bio-Claw ×5, Bio-Demon Whisker ×2. Upgrading…】

【Upgrade complete!】

The synthetic electronic voice fell. Xiao Yi felt the Blade of Sin in his hand suddenly shudder.

Then, WHOOMPH, a sound of flame lighting. A mass of ghostly blue ghost-fire burned on the edge.

Xiao Yi touched the flame. There was no burning feeling at all.

This kind of flame seemed like a special effect. It did not have any substantial use?

Or rather, this kind of flame did not work on him?

It could only hurt enemies?

Xiao Yi asked, a little strange, “System, what changed after the Blade of Sin upgraded?”

If it was only better-looking on the outside, a little more cool, that would be a bit of a rip-off.

These materials had not been much trouble to get, but he had still spent some work on them after all.

In this cruel apocalypse, the most useless things were morality and looking cool.

Xiao Yi only wanted something that worked.

【1. The Blade of Sin has become sharper and more durable.】

【2. The Blade of Sin carries innate Soul intimidation. Humans who see the Blade of Sin will feel fear by instinct.】

【Soul intimidation is equally effective on ordinary zombies.】

【Without special stimulus, ordinary low-tier zombies will avoid the Blade of Sin and will not enter the Blade of Sin’s intimidation range on their own.】

【Intimidation range: five meters.】

【3. Ordinary attacks with the Blade of Sin automatically gather resentment. When the Host is in a fury and swings the Blade of Sin with force, there is a certain chance to trigger Sanction of Sin.】

【Sanction of Sin: when triggered, produces a wide-area soul strike that ignores all physical defense.】
