Apocalypse: Grinding EXP through Hunting
Chapter 232 - 219: Tang Wen: Finally Took the Bait
Chapter 232: Chapter 219: Tang Wen: Finally Took the Bait
Zhao Xiong was like a young giant.
Tang Wen, a delicate young master.
The female gang members couldn’t bear to watch.
Will the Seventh Young Master get beaten to a pulp?
He’s only eighteen, they said.
Most of the male gang members, however, had looks of schadenfreude in their eyes.
They didn’t think Tang Wen stood a chance, but more importantly, they supported Zhao Xiong.
After all, Zhao Xiong had climbed his way up from the bottom.
In their hearts, they were more willing to support Zhao Xiong than this Seventh Young Master, Tang Wen, who had just appeared out of nowhere.
Especially since he was so damn handsome!
Few men like a pretty boy.
The crowd below was pessimistic.
As were those on the stage.
The experts of the Black Water Gang had much keener judgment than the ordinary members.
However, Tang Wen’s Stealth Technique was now at the Expert Level.
The massive platform spanned several acres in size.
If he fully unleashed his Stealth Technique, he could easily cover the entire platform.
The Stealth Technique activated on its own, affecting only him.
The crowd of Sixth Grade Vice Gang Leaders, and even the Fifth Grade Gang Leader, couldn’t see that he was hiding his true strength.
They only felt that Tang Wen’s vitality was not strong, his eyes were calm and deep, and his Spiritual Power was average.
Naturally, they didn’t think he stood a chance.
Shui Yun’s voice transmission was urgent, tinged with a cold edge, "Junior Brother, be extremely careful. Find an opportunity to activate the Life-Saving Jade Talisman! This man wants to hurt you. If you must kill him, then kill him! Don’t put yourself in danger just to save face!"
Tang Wen: ’...’ ’I already said I’d beat him in one move. So, Senior Sister, you think I’m going to use the Life-Saving Jade Talisman for that one move?’
Aunt Lian was Sixth Grade.
The Life-Saving Jade Talisman contained one of her Killing Moves.
Using it against an Eighth Grade Martial Artist?
An Eighth Grade Martial Artist from our own Black Water Gang, no less?
Tang Wen felt he couldn’t afford such a loss of face.
But he did enjoy the feeling of being looked out for.
Vice Gang Leader Zhao also sent a voice transmission, "When I was young, I took falls much bigger than this! Whatever you do, don’t risk your life!"
Elder Li also sent a message to persuade him, "Xiaotang, you’ve had it easy for too long. It’s not a bad thing to experience a little adversity. Old Zhao and I have already gathered several friends within the gang. The moment you’re in danger, we’ll all move to save you at once."
Tang Wen understood what he meant.
There were only two people in the duel.
But each represented a different faction.
The moment the anticipated crisis showed its first signs,
Shui Yun and the others would try to protect Tang Wen, and Vice Gang Leader Lin would likely try to stop them.
’Old Zhao and Old Li are good guys,’ he thought.
’But as for experiencing adversity, I’ll pass.’
’It seems this Zhao Xiong has had it too easy as well. It’s time to give him a little shock.’
Vice Gang Leader Lin watched the expressions on the faces of Shui Yun, Old Zhao, and Old Li, and leaned back comfortably in his chair.
’You all think so highly of this little bastard, don’t you? Well, today, I’m going to have him crippled!’
He seemed to have sent a voice transmission.
Under Shui Yun’s worried gaze, Zhao Xiong ferociously swung his terrifying battle-axe, which whistled through the air as it chopped toward Tang Wen’s upper body.
The colossal axe weighed over two hundred pounds and was enormous.
It didn’t matter where it struck. Forget his head; even a blow to the torso meant Tang Wen would not escape death.
As everyone watched, Tang Wen didn’t even try to dodge.
’Is the kid scared stiff?!’
The thought had barely formed when, suddenly, a black mist erupted from Tang Wen’s body.
"What is that?"
"A Dark Ability?"
On the stage, the faces of the Vice Gang Leaders and Elders filled with astonishment.
In a flash, the black mist engulfed both Tang Wen and Zhao Xiong.
The latter, though startled, did not panic. His great axe, carrying the power to sunder mountains and shatter stone, continued its steady arc toward Tang Wen!
The steel battle-axe was stopped in mid-air.
Zhao Xiong’s vision was obscured by the thick darkness, and he couldn’t see what was happening.
He tugged at the axe with both hands, but it wouldn’t budge.
Without a second thought, the muscles on his arms bulged like hills as he bent his knees and put his entire strength into it.
This was enough force to shake a Stone Tower, to shatter a ten-thousand-jin boulder!
And yet, with a mighty pull, it didn’t move an inch.
Killing intent flared in Zhao Xiong’s eyes. He held onto the axe handle, constantly observing his surroundings.
Clearly, he hadn’t given up and was still trying to find Tang Wen’s location.
’There’s something off about this guy!’
Tang Wen narrowed his eyes.
’I was originally planning to recruit him.’
’After all, as the dignified Seventh Young Master, having an underling like Zhao Xiong would be quite impressive.’
’But Zhao Xiong’s reaction is very strange.’
’He clearly can’t resist my techniques, yet he’s still showing an expression like he wants to kill someone.’
Tang Wen couldn’t be bothered to waste words on him. He reached out, gave a tug, and violently wrenched the steel axe into his own hands.
Zhao Xiong’s paltry few thousand jin of strength, when compared to his...
...was like the difference between a three-year-old child and an adult special forces soldier.
Zhao Xiong only felt his hands go numb. He couldn’t even hold onto his axe, despite his pride in his own strength.
His soul nearly left his body. He didn’t dare linger for another second and immediately turned to flee.
"Hmph!"
’Scared, but won’t admit defeat?’
Instantly, Tang Wen made two moves.
With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the massive axe toward a Vice Hall Master standing outside the black mist.
WHOOSH—
The great axe tore through the air.
It drew a wave of shocked cries.
Meanwhile, seeing Zhao Xiong about to escape the black mist,
Tang Wen took a step forward and kicked him in the ass.
Zhao Xiong’s bear-like body went flying as if riding the clouds.
Tang Wen had held back on that kick, using skill rather than brute force. Otherwise, he could have shattered half of the man’s body!
Even so, Zhao Xiong wouldn’t be walking for at least half a year.
At that moment, because of the axe Tang Wen had thrown, the area outside was in chaos, filled with continuous cries of alarm!
"Son! Watch out!"
Just as the great axe broke through the darkness,
Vice Gang Leader Lin’s expression changed dramatically, and he immediately shouted a warning to the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man was also surnamed Lin; he was his third son.
He was also the most promising of all his sons.
An Extraordinary Powerhouse.
"It’s just an axe, Father. No need to worry."
He shouted, stood up, dropped into a low stance, and crossed his arms in front of him, preparing to block the attack head-on!
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to dodge; the axe was simply too fast and had come too suddenly.
