Chapter 592: Sooner Or Later, All Of You Must Die
[Killed Dragon King, EXP +**]
[General star +1]
Killing the Dragon King granted him 90 billion EXP.
The new general star caused a faint, star-shaped projection to shimmer briefly on his military badge before slowly fading away.
To be promoted to a four-star godly general, one must kill four God-level enemies.
Lin Moyu had already killed the Darkfiend King’s avatar to death, and now he had slain a Dragon King—half the requirement complete.
Two more God-level kills, and he would be promoted to a four-star godly general.
The moment the Dragon King’s died, Lin Moyu sensed a certain law manifesting out of thin air.
The law drew a portion of the Dragon King’s soul force and infused it into him, converting it into his own.
As his soul force surged, so did his EXP.
This was the true source of leveling through killing.
Before this, Lin Moyu had been unable to perceive laws at all—now he could.
Strengthening the soul was the foundation of everything. If a potion capable of enhancing the soul existed, it could raise one’s level directly.
With every new insight, he was able to see through the nature of many things.
His soul essence was already sufficiently high-level. All he needed now was the infusion of massive amounts of soul force.
With enough of it, reaching level 89, or even stepping directly into God-level, would not be unusual.
After all, he had already met the prerequisite by embedding two skill star cores into his soul world.
But even if he were handed limitless soul force right now, Lin Moyu would refuse to ascend God-level.
He still cared about the three flames within his talent world.
He would not step into God-level before transferring those talent flames into his soul.
Once someone became a God-level powerhouse, the talent world’s door became nearly impossible to open, leaving them able to use only the scant talent power that leaked through.
Even with three talents, which would still make him stronger than other God-level experts, it wasn’t enough for Lin Moyu.
If he was going to do something, he would do it to perfection.
The Dragon King had perished without leaving behind a corpse. From within the poison mist, a fist-sized crystal dropped to the ground.
Anything that could endure that poison was undoubtedly precious.
Lin Moyu knew exactly what it was: a Dragon Crystal, the most precious thing within a Dragon King’s body.
It was also precisely the item he needed.
He reached out, drawing the Dragon Crystal into his hand, then brought out the Genesis Scepter.
As the Dragon Crystal touched the Genesis Scepter, the Life Core embedded within released a wave of law force, wrapping around the crystal.
The sturdy Dragon Crystal melted instantly, merging into the Life Core.
The Life Core was originally forged from Dragon Crystals. After being damaged, all it needed to recover was to absorb enough of them.
Now, after consuming one, it glowed slightly brighter.
The life divine force within it had strengthened noticeably.
Taking a minute to sense the change, Lin Moyu murmured, “About 10% recovered. A few dozen more Dragon Crystals should fully restore it.”
“If I could get the Dragon Emperor’s Dragon Crystal… that might be enough on its own.”
Lin Moyu was lost in a wild fantasy.
Killing the Dragon Emperor to seize his Dragon Crystal? Even the God of Life in her day would never have entertained such an idea.
The God of Life was merely a high-tier God, while the Dragon Emperor was a half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse.
Lin Moyu was still puzzled about how the God of Life had managed to gather enough Dragon Crystals to forge the Life Core.
Shouldn’t that stingy Dragon Emperor have hunted her down for it?
He truly wondered what had happened back then.
After absorbing the Dragon Crystal, the Dragon King was completely annihilated. Nothing remained of him.
Lin Moyu’s own battle had ended, but the fight between the Jialan Guild and the crab boss was still ongoing.
Everyone had been too stunned by Lin Moyu’s display to even use their skills.
They had watched, wide-eyed, as a level 70 human class user soloed a Dragon King.
Throughout the entire fight, Lin Moyu remained calm and composed, while the Dragon King was beaten so badly he looked pitiful.
From start to finish, the Dragon King never even had a chance to fight back.
“This guy is way too strong.”
“When did our human race produce someone like this?”
“Have we been in the Immemorial Battlefield so long that we’ve lost touch with the outside world?”
“Not really. It’s only been three years.”
“I bet he’s actually a God-level expert suppressing his level to level 70 with some special item.”
“What nonsense are you spouting? He’s Godly General Lin!”
“Godly General Lin? Who’s that?”
“You’re telling me that young man is a godly general?”
“You’ll learn all about Godly General Lin once you return to Shenxia City.”
The group exploded into chatter, their skills completely forgotten.
Only the four Knights continued to hold the crab boss at bay, while the Healers kept the support going.
With everyone else slacking, the boss’s health quickly began to regenerate.
Lin Moyu sighed, “If you don’t get back to fighting, the boss is going to recover its health.”
The Undying Gaze still hung in the air. Its gate turned toward the crab boss, and the monster let out a miserable scream, its aura plummeting.
All the health it had just recovered vanished instantly, leaving it even weaker than before.
Lin Moyu struck once, then backed off. He had no intention of stealing another’s boss.
The Jialan Guild members finally snapped out of their daze and resumed their assault.
After several minutes of full-force attacks, they managed to bring the boss down.
By then, Lin Moyu was already long gone.
…
He soared across the Meteorfall Continent. At level 70, he could already fly on his own.
But, he still preferred using the Lightning Deathwings, as they were faster.
The Meteorfall Continent’s deadly meteors meant nothing to him.
Even the strongest ones were merely equivalent to a fake God-level strike and couldn’t harm him at all.
He could afford to be reckless and travel at full speed.
As for the continent’s bosses, he cared even less.
As long as they didn’t provoke him, he ignored them. If they did… the Skeletal King alone was enough to send them back to await respawn.
In the Dragonkind World, a deep tolling rang throughout the sky.
It was the Dragon King’s Funeral Bell, a bell that only sounded when a Dragon King died.
For ages, it had remained silent. But within the past year, it had tolled again and again.
Each time it rang meant another Dragon King had fallen.
Though the Dragonkind were numerous, the number of Dragon Kings was limited.
Becoming a Dragon King was no easy feat. The Dragonkind could not afford to lose them lightly.
Golden light suddenly flooded the sky as a Dragon phantom appeared.
It was not a typical Dragon, but a Huaxia Divine Dragon.
Among the Dragonkind, the Huaxia Divine Dragon was revered as the Ancestral Dragon.
All Dragonkind yearned for their bloodline to undergo atavism and become an Ancestral Dragon.
Yet atavistic bloodline was exceedingly rare. Only those with atavistic bloodline could ever hope to reach the level of the Ancestral Dragon.
Without an atavistic bloodline, no amount of effort would ever be enough.
The current Dragon Emperor possessed an atavistic bloodline, and was the strongest among Dragonkind who possessed an atavistic bloodline.
The Ancestral Dragon phantom in the sky was projected by the Dragon Emperor.
The Dragon Emperor’s voice boomed, “The culprit behind this Dragon King’s death is the human, Lin Moyu.”
“He is currently on the Meteorfall Continent. Any Dragon King who kills him will receive a drop of Ancestral Dragon Lifeblood.”
“I have prepared Tracking Crystals. Anyone who wishes to go can collect it at the Immemorial Teleportation Formations.”
The entire Dragonkind erupted in an uproar.
Ancestral Dragon Lifeblood could give them a chance to awaken an atavistic bloodline, and possibly at least restore at least the glory of the Ancestral Dragon.
The Dragonkind sprang into action. All the Dragon Kings were eager to give it a try.
Before, when there was no reward, some Dragon Kings had only half-heartedly obeyed the Dragon Emperor’s orders.
But now, with Ancestral Dragon Lifeblood as the prize, they all started to put in the effort.
Inside the Dragon Emperor’s Palace, the brothers Tashir and Tatar knelt trembling.
They had no idea why they had been summoned, unease tightening their chests.
The Dragon Emperor spoke softly. “Do you know why I called you here?”
Both shook their heads.
“You heard my decree just now?”
“We heard it.” They replied, “We will also travel to the Meteorfall Continent to seek Lin Moyu.”
The Dragon Emperor chuckled, “There will be plenty of Dragon Kings going. You two need not join them. I summoned you for something else.”
The brothers exchanged uneasy glances. What could the Dragon Emperor possibly want from them?
“I am offering Ancestral Dragon Lifeblood as the reward.” The Dragon Emperor continued, “But Ancestral Dragon Lifeblood is exceedingly precious. I’m rather reluctant to part with it.”
Their expressions changed instantly. They knew what was coming, but it was already too late.
A colossal force crashed down upon them.
The brothers exploded on the spot, reduced to a cloud of bloody mist, which then condensed into two drops of lifeblood.
Each drop was the size of a head, and within them, one could almost hear a Divine Dragon roaring.
The Dragon Emperor smiled coldly, “The wounds Antares left on me are difficult to heal. Only Ancestral Dragon Lifeblood can mend them. The other drop will be the reward.”
“Lin Moyu… Lin Moyu… For your sake, I have slain two Dragonkind with an atavistic bloodline. You should feel honored.”
“If an atavistic bloodline becomes a Dragon King, they might one day ascend to a Dragon Emperor, threatening my position…”
“So sooner or later, all of you must die…”
