Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 573: You’re My Friend, Help Me Out

Yan Kuangsheng’s blade was as fierce and domineering as the man himself.

That slash was cold, sharp, and suffused with murderous aura.

Even from 1,000 meters away, it cleaved Dreadbeasts cleanly in two, killing them instantly.

Feng Chang’an and the others were stunned. They could feel that Yan Kuangsheng’s aura had changed.

“Madman Yan, you’ve taken that step!” Bai Yiyuan exclaimed in disbelief.

Meng Anwen shot him a glance, “What nonsense. Didn’t you see the law force in Old Yan’s strike?”

Yan Kuangsheng burst into laughter, “Old brothers, this time I’ve taken the lead!”

“I’ve comprehended the law of slaughter!”

Lin Moyu also sensed the change.

Yan Kuangsheng’s aura wasn’t much stronger than Meng Anwen’s or the others’, yet the aura surrounding him was different from the rest.

Merely that aura made him stand out, like a star shining in the night sky, impossible to ignore.

Yan Kuangsheng immediately followed with two more slashes. His murderous aura swept forth, and blade lights crisscrossed, cutting down the Dreadbeasts that had just emerged.

Antares’ voice echoed again, “See? That is the power of laws.”

“Dreadbeasts aren’t hard to kill. As long as you can wield the power of laws, you can cut them down easily.”

Lin Moyu pondered, “So, if I use the Law Crystals… I can kill them too?”

Antares nodded, “Exactly. Your Law Crystals are the crystallization of the Lightning God’s life essence. Though the Lightning God only barely touched the high-tier God rank, their attribute was quite special.”

“With their Law Crystals, you can unleash power equivalent to that of level 97 God-level experts. This is quite a bit stronger than that blade-wielding fellow.”

Hearing that, Lin Moyu felt reassured. The situation seemed to be stabilizing.

Jiang Yi was keeping the Demon Emperor at bay. Though the Demon Emperor was very formidable, fighting across worlds put him on par with Jiang Yi.

The two clashed evenly, neither able to gain the upper hand.

From within the sword, Jiang Yi’s voice rang out, “Demon Emperor, long time no see. You haven’t grown stronger at all. Stagnant for hundreds of years, you disappoint me.”

“What do you know?” The Demon Emperor snarled, irritation creeping into his tone.

Jiang Yi laughed, “It doesn’t matter what I know. Your spatial channel won’t last much longer. I’ll keep you company a little longer.”

Meanwhile, Yan Kuangsheng continued his rampage, cutting down Dreadbeasts one after another.

At the same time, Lin Moyu sensed a vast, terrifying aura approaching.

The Dreadbeast King was coming.

“Antares, can Yan Kuangsheng defeat the Dreadbeast King?”

Lin Moyu’s heart tightened, unease washing over him.

Antares snorted, “Him? Of course not. The weakest Dreadbeast King is level 97. Even if that guy gives it his all, he can only stall it for a while.”

Lin Moyu’s heart sank, “It seems we absolutely can’t let it come through. Is there any way to destroy the spatial channel?”

If they couldn’t stop the Dreadbeast King, they would have to destroy the spatial channel itself.

Antares chuckled, “That spatial channel was built by the Dragon Emperor himself, using a formation and his own law force. Blowing it up won’t be easy.”

Meng Anwen had already tried earlier and failed. The spatial channel remained firm and unshaken.

Lin Moyu held the Law Crystal in his hand, “What about this?”

Antares gave a short laugh, “Not quite. It’s just a little short.”

Lin Moyu didn’t hesitate, “Then help me.”

“Why should I?” Antares replied, his tone dripping with arrogance.

Lin Moyu could almost picture his current expression—head held high proudly, eyes conveying: “I don’t give a damn about you.”

Instead of arguing, Lin Moyu spoke plainly, “You’re my friend. Help me out.”

“You…” Antares was momentarily speechless.

Lin Moyu’s words struck something deep within him.

How many years had it been? He had lived alone in the core area for countless years, never once having a friend.

In his eyes, everyone else in this world was simply too weak, utterly beneath his notice

Not one of them was fit to be his friend.

His only pastime over the years, besides sleeping, was raising an Archaic Luanniao.

But now, hearing Lin Moyu call him a friend stirred something long dormant within him.

After several seconds of silence, the Dreadbeast King’s aura grew more intense.

Lin Mohan’s expression grew solemn. She knew that a Dreadbeast King was inside the spatial channel, and she knew just how powerful Dreadbeast Kings were.

Emperor Di had taken her into the Dreadland, where she had seen a Dreadbeast King with her own eyes.

If the Dreadbeast King were allowed to come out of the spatial channel, it would spell catastrophe.

She came up to Lin Moyu, “If the Dreadbeast King comes out, you must leave immediately.”

Lin Moyu didn’t answer. He merely glanced at her and said calmly, “That probably won’t be necessary.”

Then, he called out once more, “Antares! Help me!”

At that moment, the Law Crystal in his hand suddenly blazed with light.

It wasn’t his doing. Instead, a force had appeared out of nowhere and activated the Law Crystal.

Lin Moyu’s heart leapt. Antares had made his move.

Without hesitation, he cast his skill.

Skill: Summon Elemental Lich!

Thunder exploded across the heavens as countless bolts of lightning crashed down.

A figure wreathed entirely in crackling lightning appeared beside Lin Moyu—a two-meter-tall Elemental Lich, exuding terrifying power.

Everyone was drawn to this lightning figure Lin Moyu had suddenly summoned, wondering what it was.

They felt an immense pressure. This lightning summon was extremely powerful and, moreover, highly unstable.

In a flash of lightning and thunder, the Lightning Lich appeared before the spatial channel,

then dove straight into it.

A moment later, a deafening roar erupted from within.

The spatial channel twisted violently, and within seconds, it began to collapse.

Meng Anwen’s eyes lit with joy. As long as the spatial channel was destroyed, the Dreadbeast King could never break through.

“Good! Excellent!”

“The channel’s collapsing!”

“Godly General Lin is incredible!”

Cheers erupted as hope surged.

The furious roars of the Dreadbeast King echoed briefly, then were drowned beneath the endless thunder.

On the other side, the Demon Emperor’s colossal hand, locked in combat with Jiang Yi’s Demon-Slaying Sword, suddenly shuddered, halted, and withdrew.

A heartbeat later, the spatial channel it came from sealed shut.

Antares’s disdainful voice echoed, “That fellow’s senses are sharp. He felt my aura and fled.”

Though Antares had been discreet, a faint trace of his aura had still leaked.

Lin Moyu smiled, “You’re simply too strong. That’s why the Demon Emperor fears you.”

Antares snorted, “You don’t understand.”

With the matter settled, Lin Moyu felt a wave of relief and chuckled inwardly, “Then explain it to me, so I do understand. I’ll come find you in a few days.”

“Mhm. You’re level 69. It’s time you did.”

When Antares’s presence faded, Lin Moyu knew he was gone.

No one else could have overheard their exchange—not even Lin Mohan, who carried a trace of Antares’s will.

The trouble was over, and nearly half of the soul force still remained in the Soul Millstone.

Lin Moyu focused on transferring it, including shares for Yan Kuangsheng and Lin Mohan.

Yan Kuangsheng sheathed his blade, “Tch. I clawed my way to level 96, and you lot just take shortcuts. I despise you all!”

With the danger behind them and the reward before them, spirits were high.

Ning Tairan laughed heartily, “Despise us all you like. It’s not as if we’ll lose any flesh over it.”

Bai Yiyuan scoffed, “Exactly! Don’t get cocky. We’ll catch up soon enough.”

Meng Anwen shook his head. “You used to be able to catch up. But with Zhu Qingliu around, I doubt you’ll have the time.”

Yan Kuangsheng blinked, “You and Zhu Qingliu are together?”

Bai Yiyuan crossed his arms, “What, is that a problem?”

Yan Kuangsheng burst out laughing, “Didn’t you once say women were nothing but trouble? Forgot your own words already?”

Bai Yiyuan, completely shameless, replied, “What words? I don’t recall saying anything like that.”

The two were at it again, trading jabs back and forth in a lively fashion, clearly at ease now.

Lin Moyu turned to his sister, “Sister, where have you been lately?”

Lin Mohan answered, “My teacher’s been putting me through special training.”

Lin Moyu nodded. Without such rigorous training, even her talent couldn’t have brought her to God-level so quickly.

He didn’t ask further. It was enough that she was safe and thriving.

To reach God-level at just 22 was unprecedented.

Meng Anwen approached and asked quietly, “Miss Lin, where is Lord Emperor Di now?”

Lin Mohan sighed softly, her voice barely above a whisper, “Teacher has left.”

Meng Anwen’s expression shifted. After a pause, he nodded and said simply, “I understand.”
