Chapter 2049: Purple Luo Zinc

“Purple Luo Zinc?”

Kelan Su recognized it and exclaimed in surprise.

This was a type of metal, extremely rare, so rare that… it was basically impossible to find.

Moreover, this thing had a somewhat singular use; it was extremely useful only to the Su Clan, and its high price was specifically targeted at them.

Because it was the base material for manufacturing ‘Formation Molds’.

Before the following formation appeared, people had sought solutions to the Su Clan’s problem with encounter battles. On the one hand, they tried to expand the power and functionality of formations as much as possible; on the other hand, they sought methods to fight like other warriors.

But the fact was, apart from very rare combat-type warriors like Zhou Su, other Su Clan members had very little talent; it could almost be called… foolish.

When seeking solutions, there had always been two directions. One was to solve the Su Clan’s combat style fundamentally; these people would study the physical structure and energy systems of Su Clan members, even dissecting countless members of their own clan for this purpose. Others delved into the cultivation methods of various races, hoping to find those suitable for the Su Clan to practice.

The other direction was to seek breakthroughs in formations, both to increase power and to find ways to deploy them quickly.

This latter direction had been the focus of the Su Clan’s research for many years.

After all, once a breakthrough was made in this aspect, it would directly solve the problem.

Yaohan Su was actually part of this direction; the following formation essentially stemmed from the perspective of rapid formation deployment.

Before the traveling formation appeared, the Su Clan’s greatest achievement was the birth of ‘Formation Molds’.

Making these things was complex, but explaining them was simple: it was just about pre-making the basic outline of a formation and inserting the formation core when needed.

Formation Molds couldn’t fundamentally solve the problem, but could greatly increase the speed of formation deployment. If there really was an encounter battle in the wild, one only needed to hold on for a moment to set up the formation.

Although holding on for that moment still required paying a great price, it was still better than the previous situation of losing every time.

For a long time, Formation Molds were very popular and would have continued to be so if not for the shortage of Purple Luo Zinc.

When a Formation Mold took shape, it needed to allow energy to flow accurately on its surface without dissipating too quickly, and it needed to activate smoothly when the formation core was inserted.

This placed high demands on the manufacturing material, and Purple Luo Zinc was what the Su Clan discovered after many years of experimentation.

However, because Formation Molds were consumables that couldn’t be reused after one use, Purple Luo Zinc’s activity would also disappear. So when the Su Clan began massively purchasing this already scarce metal, the price skyrocketed, eventually reaching astronomical levels.

Because the Su Clan controlled too few resources, wanting Purple Luo Zinc meant being extorted. During those years, the other two major camps earned so much money from the Su Clan that they would laugh in their dreams, while the Su Clan stubbornly endured as if drinking poison to quench thirst.

Until… the other two major camps also ran out of Purple Luo Zinc…

Purple Luo Zinc was actually very heavy. The piece Ye Zhongming took out didn’t look big but weighed over thirty pounds. This was enough to make Formation Molds for dozens of small formations, or over a dozen medium formations, or one large formation’s mold.

“This thing, how much more do you have?” Yaohan Su’s voice was low, but he was quite excited inside.

He naturally leaned towards helping Ye Zhongming, even if he got nothing for the time being. But if he could obtain corresponding benefits, that would naturally be best. He was first the Su Clan’s leader, then a leader who wanted to save the Su Clan.

“That depends on the situation.” Ye Zhongming replied.

The other Su Clan members, not to mention, were almost furious. This time, even Yaohan Su and Jie Su were a bit wide-eyed.

Yaohan Su tilted his head and looked towards the leader of Kelan Su’s faction. That old man’s face was now ashen, his gaze constantly shifting between Weapon of War and Purple Luo Zinc.

If before, Ye Zhongming was just a rising star of the Star-Eye Clan, and his words, even if not alarmist, were just glib talk that the Su Clan members could ignore, then the appearance of Weapon of War and Purple Luo Zinc truly changed his position in everyone’s minds.

They no longer regarded him as a person from a minor clan.

Which minor clan member could casually spend ten million Moonspan Gold? Could produce something like Weapon of War that had already been lost? Could produce Purple Luo Zinc that only the two major camps had before?

With these two items alone, he had the qualification to discuss cooperation with the Su Clan.

Seeing this old man feigning deafness and muteness, Yaohan Su didn’t say anything, turned his head, and gave Jie Su a look.

Jie Su smiled bitterly repeatedly.

He understood Yaohan Su’s meaning, which was nothing more than saying that if they had known Ye Zhongming had these two things in hand, they might have had better ways to resolve this matter, not having everyone gather here like this, bearing all kinds of potential unexpected incidents and risks.

Jie Su felt he was truly wronged; he really didn’t know that when Ye Zhongming acted, it would always be with things that the Su Clan simply couldn’t let go of.

“Old sir, is this enough?”

Yaohan Su didn’t want to force that old man to take a stance in front of so many people, but Ye Zhongming had no such scruples.

That leader knew he had to take a stance now. These two things had completely swayed the others; he had to admit he was also moved.

But, compared to whether his faction could ascend to the clan leader position, even giving up these things wasn’t regrettable!

He looked at Ye Zhongming and said, “The things you’ve brought out, if the quantity is sufficient, could indeed move us. However, our Su Clan will not cooperate with useless people, no matter how rich they are! They also need to show corresponding strength! This way, they won’t drag our Su Clan down someday in the future.”

The leader thought about Ye Zhongming’s identity and the Star-Eye Clan’s situation, feeling that by setting obstacles in this aspect, the guy before him couldn’t avoid it no matter what.

“You need to demonstrate your strength, even if it’s just potential. If you can gain everyone’s recognition, what’s wrong with the Su Clan cooperating with you?”

The leader smiled and added, “But don’t try to fool us with how fast you progress or the like. In this universe, there are too many methods to increase strength at low levels rapidly.”

Hearing this old man suddenly change the direction of his nitpicking, Yaohan Su, Jie Su, and others felt uneasy inside. They knew he had seized the most fatal weakness of Ye Zhongming and the Star-Eye Clan: low combat power.

Their strength was insufficient to force the Su Clan to choose cooperation; they could also choose to purchase, even if it cost more money.

But Ye Zhongming wasn’t afraid at all and stood up immediately.

“Alright, since you say so, then let’s go. I’ll take you to see our potential.”
